- Okay, so we are back again with our KTM 390 Duke, and this time, it has been over a year since we got this bike. It was back in December 2020 when we got our 390 Duke, brand new, from KTM BGC and we have been using this bike to places, fun rides, bike swaps and DIYs... And as I promised last time, we plan to do an owner's one year bike review when we get the chance. And I guess this is just about the right time for that.
Here's one year ownership review of this bike. You'll know why I bought this bike, and what are the things I love and hate about it.

Finally an in depth review after a year of using the bike, parang mas useful to kasi we can all get and search the details naman of the spec of the bike prior to purchasing it, mgnda yung may insights naman after using it for a while. Mas may idea kami what to expect and some tips and tricks from on hand experience. Osom!

i am torn between getting Z400 and Duke390, but more on Z400 due to its reliability, availability of parts and motorcycle shop that can fix it.
but i really wanted the Duke390 as my first expressway legal bike (and my first manual bike) mainly because of its weight. i am just skeptic in choosing Duke390 for the issues seen on other YT videos like:
1) overheating
2) battery issue, and headlight issue when drenched in the rain (or just a simple motowash)
3) water sipping thru the gaps on the TFT display's case
4) parts for replacement are hard to find, often times only the dealership has it, this would be an issue if the owner lives in a place where there is no dealership
5) few motorcycle shop can fix Duke390 or again, most of the time only dealership can fix the bike, this would be an issue if the owner lives in a place where there is no dealership
Nice video bro. Really detailed. I have exactly the same bike, same year, same colour and I love it. Great little bike with enough power, good fuel efficiency and sporty chassis/suspension.

Awesome! I've been hesitant to buy a Duke 390 bcoz of z400. But now I know which is better and good for everyday use but has the same performance and durability.

As a first time rider looking for a first bike, thank you for this. Such great content! That said, would you recommend the Duke 390 for a first timer? Or should I stick to the lower cc automatic bikes like the NMAX/PCX/KRV?
the duke390 is a very light bike. it may be scary on the first try, but you should be able to manage the bike after riding it around a few laps. however, my suggestion is to first try out a learner’s bike as a practice.

@@TG-uk1oo actually i am not saying you buy a learner bike. 😊 if budget permits, and i think you can afford, enroll in a big bike course like those of Honda Safety Training course. pero as i said, pwede naman straight na agad with the Duke purchase.

Nice eloquent review, na iimagine ko tuloy habang nag voice over ka while sipping tea na nakalabas pa yun pinky 😂, btw nakuha mo na ba sa ktm bgc plaka mu sir sakin pa 5 years na wala parin 😭. Rs po lagi and more subs🍊
indi tsaa boss... 3-in-1 lang tayo hahaha. pero tama ka dun sa pinky finger... hahaha. :P as for the plate po, indi pa rin po... looks like only those released ng 2021 pa lang talaga ang nabibigyan ng plaka e. na-skip tayo sa processing kasi nag start lang ng 2021 yung ginawa ng LTO.

please try searching MHR brand mirrors in the FB Marketplace.
@@BossTLPH Stock mirrors are fine. I had no issues. Bike is ultra smooth with no vibes anywhere but a rock hard seat! The seat is awful. Love the TFT dash. Suspension is very soft and brakes are not strong. Engine is mechanically noisy and reasonably usable. Bike itself is far too heavy for a little 44bhp engine to propel. If it was 30kg lighter then it would be a great little bike. At 149kg dry but with 13.4kg of fuel and 3 more kg of oil and coolant it's a real porker at 166kg wet weight. This really hurts it's acceleration massively. My 2013 GSXR-1000 is 185bhp and is only 35kg heavier. I only use the 390 within our small village to go shopping or visit family and friends. Anything above 100KMH is out of the question.

Duke still. performance wise, i prefer the quick acceleration of the Duke. But I will go for a ninja400 instead of Z400 if given the choice

Where do you live? You can drive really fast there. Here in the US 160KMH, you'd be a hooligan and in Switzerland it could mean jail. Good review. I like that bike. I used to have a ktm duke 2.

hi, for almost the same money (where i live), there's a choice between a brand new 2022 svartpilen 250 and a very lightly used 2019/20 duke 390. which would you choose?

Hi good day..i just bought new ktm 390 my first negative impression is when i stack on a heavy traffic problem its gauge hits on the 2nd level to the top of overheating even not in a hour of traffick..i think that is not a normal issue in a new motor

hello boss... most montages, puros iphone12 lang gamit ko... yung 3rd POV rolling shots nung motor, usually hero7 lang, hawak ng anak ko nakasakay sa ibang motor... tapos yung mga closeups, 360 cam nakaattach sa selfie stick. :)

oo naman sir. actually, the Duke390 is the best compromise of a daily ride and weekend expressway ride. very nimble yet very good power.

no quickshifter installed yet. but you can shift clutchlessly by rev matching. nagawa ko po yung ganyan.
Boss, bumili kase ako 2nd hand na duke 390. At yung issue niya talaga kapag traffic is tumataas yung temp. Umaabot nga sa point na 1 bar nalang sagad na. Tanong ko lang kapag heavy traffic ilang bar yung pinakamataas na inabot mo sa duke 390 mo? Salamat😊
v1 or v2 po? kung v1 at lumang LCD panel pa, yes, normal po yun, kahit Duke200 na v1 ganun din. pero pag v2 po, half lang po sya sa temp gauge.
Do you recommend duke 390 or nk400? Im a little bit scared of getting the duke because of reliability problem from other people
meron din issues si NK400, mas maingay lang po yung sa Duke390 😊 I will say Duke390 just because I am a 390 user, pero i need to have a hands on muna sa NK400 to give an unbiased suggestion po 😊

Hi sir I have a question how is the maintenance Po especially mataas Po Gasolina. May KTM dito sa place namin kaso hesitant ako sir.plano ko kumuha ng pang trail na lang Po.
trail bike? indi po ako familiar sa trail bikes ng KTM e pero as far as i heard, they are the premium bikes when it comes to enduro and trails. siguro pag starters, mas recommendable yung jap bikes pambaragan. haha. then shift to KTM pag serious off roading na.

yung axle sliders, lazada lang po. yung EVOtech frame sliders, bought it 2nd hand from Orange Blooded Motomaniac po.

Magkano po ginagastos mo sa maintenance?
regular change oil lang naman po ang maintenance niyan. 1.6L of oil and filter plus labor usually would cost around 2k, interval of around 5k kms (though i do the oil change ng 3k to be sure). regular chain cleaning every oil change, DIY na lang.

regular maintenance... okay lang naman. usual PMS and change oil so far every 5k kms. parang kotse lang po.

boss wala pa naman ako masyado accessories except for the side mirror, MDL and slider. yung engine slider po, second hand sa FB po, side mirrors are MHR brand sa FB marketplace, axle sliders sa lazada and driving lights, sponsored po yun hehehe

Ktm mechanic said don't buy because of many problems will show up frequently & Engine will seize any time 😑
The engine is much improved and less prone to grenading then past engines. However. There’s a never ending list of sensors and other niggling issues that put me off it which I was really looking forward to the second gen rc390 but I’m not willing to deal with the bs. Yamaha R3 has been flawless to date

I have the 2019 model acquired in Apr 2021, daily driven (with weekend rides and 2 track days at BRC so far) with 11.5k odo and counting, i've never had issues with "overheating"
the temp gauge had never even gone higher than 5 bars, even in bad traffic
