About the third baby, I seem to remember that in the book it was something like that: "Let's imagine he was adopted by a middle-class family, and lived a completely normal and mediocre life. Yes let's imagine this". And at the end of the book, the kid actually has a cameo and the author is like "Told you so."
The third boy likely ends up being a character the kids know (it's heavily implied that he's Greasy Johnson, bully and head of the rival village gang - The Johnsonites - who then goes on to channel his bullying more positively into playing American football and raising prize winning tropical fish - totally dropped from the show, narration at the birth aside).
Also! The kid apparently goes to the same school as the Them, i can’t remember the exact quote but he’s someone that pepper beats up or something (if I can find it I’ll edit this)
Show ends on romantic song describing exactly what Az and Crowly are doing, down to the nightingale singing in the park. Aaron: I just love their friendship.
"And there never was an apple, in Adam's opinion, that wasn't worth the trouble you got into for eating it" That line always gets me whether I'm reading the book or watching the series.
Imagine Astur's fright when he saw that "Crowley" was invulnerable to holy water. From his point of view, he almost got sprayed with holy water when he thought it was just normal water in pshitt because he saw a drop fall on Crowley without hurting him.
Aziraphale gave the first humans fire, but he also gave them the worlds first weapon. And in the end it ends up in Wars hands. So Crowley gives them knowledge and Aziraphale gives them the possibility of war...so their worries about whether they both did the wrong thing is actually very on point ;) Madame Tracy does "entertain" men a few days of the week (eventhough her knees are not what they were ;) ), and does Medium-ship on other days ;) The soldier ends up at his family's house in America. Adam has a bit of his powers left, but they fade over the summer if I remember correctly. :)
All I can say now is you should read the book. It's a very easy read and trust me, it won't bother you at all you already know the plot. Terry Pratchett's style is basically a string of jokes and it was impossible to put them all in the show (the narrator's part was already bordering on excessive) but they're gold. Also, in the book, there was more reason behind everything; in the show, the same events sometimes make a little less sense. And you'll get all the answers :) The third child was actually very important, even though he never appears in person, we also know what happened to the soldier.
Fun fact: they recently released a short video (audio with random pics) wherein a phone call happens between Arizaphale and Crowley while in COVID quarantine... It's legit voiced by Tennant and Sheen and is great.
It was sung here by Tori Amos. She and Gaiman have been friends and collaborators for years. She mentions him in some of her songs, and she was his inspiration for the character Delerium.

Where Aziraphale sent the soldier and what happened to Baby B are both elaborated on in the book. Conversely, Adam dealing with Satan gets LESS detail; it's implied as having the same outcome, but for TV it absolutely needed to be Shown, not just Implied. The trials are new content (after the bit in the park where Death shows up one last time) and one of my favorite new additions, alongside episode 3's cold open/'let's stop the plot for half and hour to talk about how in love Crowley and Aziraphale are.' Because of the swap, this episode has IMMENSE rewatch value - there are so many little tells, even before they get out of the trials and basically stop trying to keep up the charade. We were blessed with masters of their craft (this includes Miranda Richardson's acting-for-two stint). 'Tickety-boo' was similarly the point I started asking questions, though in hindsight, Crowley NOT DRIVING HIS CAR is a big giveaway.
@@KnightsaysNi Aziraphale doesn't really smile after seeing "his" bookstore is restored and Crowley has a big smile (and the tartan collar) when he sees "his" car.

Funny bit of trivia, there is a children's book based on him called The Highway Rat, and an animated film in which the Highway Rat is played by David Tennant. Also, David Tennant did a special quarantine reading of The Highway Rat.
Neil Gaiman and Tori Amos have been friends for a very long time and have referenced each other's work many times in the past. Not only does she sing the Nightingale song here but the line, "I believe in peace, Bitch" is a lyric from her song, "The Waitress."
The SIDRAT was a limited type of TARDIS used by the villain the War Chief in the classic 2nd Doctor adventure THE WAR GAMES, which was the 2nd Doctor's final TV story. It was also the first time we saw Gallifrey on-screen, the first time the Doctor's people were called "Time Lords," and the first time we learned he had stolen his time ship and that his people had laws against interfering with "lesser" races.
I think with maybe 2 more episodes it could have been something truly great rather than just very good. But I will say this, they knew EXACTLY what to prioritize. We got maximum Aziraphale/Crowley content while keeping an enjoyable main story with the time and budget given.
I like at the end that Adam put crowley and Azariphale right next to each other after they come down from the clouds, everyone wants them together including the offspring of the devil.
Man it was a good series. Some jokes here and there from the book weren't adapted, but it still was pretty good. Just binged this season reaction - and every question you have remaining, is answered in the book, the show was SUCH a faithful adaptation of the events of the book, but the classic Terry Pratchett footnotes, don't translate as well to screen. The only book omission I think could have been left in, was Death at the trivia machine - stops playing when asked what year did Elvis die "I NEVER LAID A HAND ON HIM"
The one thing that really gets lost in translation from book to TV is a vague metaphorical nature of what's happening with the kids and the demons at the end. In writing, it feels much more nuance, as if it may not actually be happening, but we know on some level it is. You question if what we are reading is partly in the mind of Adam, or perhaps out of reality. But on TV, our eyes need to visualize the writing, and in turn, it feels super cheesy. It's not meant to be so clear... and unfortunately I think it really hurt the ending. Everything else aside from the final battle though, did a really good job of staying true to the book.

Well, this was fun. I warned you about Dick Turpin. BTW, the third baby is fine. He wins prizes for his tropical fish. It's in the book. In the book God gives a hypothetical life for the 3rd baby including that he was adopted by a family in Tadfield and that he could win prizes for his tropical fish. Later in the book there is a second gang of kids led by a boy who is interested in tropical fish.
It's interesting to hear you discussing aspects of the storyline, such as questions of the fates of certain characters. In fact a lot of them were covered in the book (which I first read years ago, not long after it first came out) I really recommend reading it, if only to compare the original story as set out by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman to the TV series - the show is astonishingly faithful to the original.

I hope in season 2 we see more of Warlock and the 3rd baby reuniting with their real parents and Adam and Warlock become brothers
3rd baby is the leader of the "thems" rival gang.
He has won competitions with is tropical fish.
maybe not short but Ozark is something definitely worth reacting to
You guys should watch Preacher! It's based off of a comic book series and intertwines with religion in a crazy weird epic way! I think you guys would love it and have a lot to analyze!
Friendship, so true now 🤣
You have to read the book to find out what happend to the third baby. ;) he is a side character in the book.
Are you guys doing season two?
Still wondering if actually none of them knew/ realized the fact that Aziraphale and Crowley are not friends… well not just friends. It’s been actual agony watching y’all REALIZE NOTHING (especially the guy who read the dang book WHERE THEY ARE GAY AS FUCK) anyway I loved rewatching
They did a very short quarantine special for good omens that's be great for you to react to
