I just 80crv2 for the first time. I put it on my surface grinder and ground the bevels after heat treat. I couldn't figure out why it was so splotchy after the acid. You just said it may he remaining decarb. Thanks so much! Mystery solved.
If you're sandblasting (you're wise to do so) and the final surface is rough (as it should be)... I'm not understanding why you sand to 600grit. Otherwise, great presentation and methodology. Much appreciated!

That's it, 80crv2 is notorious for having a heavy decarb layer. Glad it helped.
Looks Great. Wonder how that would work with flats for HK receivers?
great video. how would do the maker mark after parkerizing
Awesome info! Love your work. Glad to see you making more videos!
Great video Matt.
Awesome video. Lots of great info. Just curious, why do you hand sand to 600 since you have to sandblast? Nice work.
are you able to parkerized a rifle receiver, if so can I pay you to, I couldn’t find anyone in Texas that has the skill to do this
Nice video! Does this process work with carbon and stainless? Or just carbon?
Just carbon, it will not work with stainless.
