    This is awesome Jason! I mean your journey is quite unique and inspiring. I’ve been wanting to sign up for VFX Apprentice for a while now, out of curiosity, and the need for something fresh I guess. Just haven’t found the time, but I’m sure it’s awesome and totally worth it for all skill levels. Anyway, just wanted to say hi and well done 🙌

    Oh, this is interesting. I've always wanted to get into vfx, but I kind of lurked around. I learned that it's somewhat important to have a good understanding of math when it comes to learning vfx, not my strong suit, but I want to try. I've noticed you offer free resources on your website. Thanks for the free resources.

      Hello, nice to see you here! As for understanding math, it would be beneficial if you want to be more of a technical artist, working with materials and such, so it depends on your goals. But even when you work with shaders it's one of the parts of creating VFX, so it's not like you will be calculating things all the time :)
      As for free resources, feel free to browse our Free Training materials! Starting with Beginner Guide (also available on RUclips) might be the best option, to cover the basics first.

    I've been trying to learn VFX on my own, as a result I've been trying to squeeze the most out of the free materials you've provided and whatever I can find online, but I really hope to follow through and attend the bootcamps and courses once I get a source of income 🤞

      I have to say learning materials in Unreal has the be the hardest thing to find free resources on.

    Hi Jason! I dropped into your last portfolio review session and was really glad to get your feedback. We missed connecting with each other afterwards somehow--do you think that you might have a moment in the future where we could chat about careers in VFX and the portfolio bootcamp?

    Hi Jason,
    I really want to do the 12-motnh_VFX challenge, is it better to follow the premade path or just to do the do-list in the challenge?

    • @VFX_Apprentice
      @VFX_Apprentice  2 месяца назад +1

      Greetings!
      12 months challenge is a great place to start small, and gradually increase complexity as you get more and more comfortable with what you have learned. On the other hand, premade paths are great if you want to focus a particular topic and dive deep into it. So, it depends!
      You can join our Discord to discuss the specifics!

    Hey! This is really wonderful stuff you're teaching! I'm a sole Blender user at the moment and was wondering how much do you guys teach about Blender 3D VFX in terms of UV mapping, shading nodes and modelling.
    In other words, when it comes to Blender, are you showing how to completely create 3D VFX in Blender or are you showing Blender as simply a step in a bigger pipeline that also involves other software?

    • @VFX_Apprentice
      @VFX_Apprentice  2 месяца назад +1

      Greetings, and thanks for a great question! Within our Modeling course, we teach Blender as a step in the VFX pipeline: the class itself handles simple mesh setup and doesn't deal with the full pipeline in Blender. But, we have some mentors who are very passionate about Blender and create amazing work within Blender only. So if you would look for guidance on Blender, we've got your back 💪
