Sorry but I'm drooling. What an exquisite piece of work. Certainly Shermans are not exactly my favorite but I love tanks and "Fury" is one of my favorite movies. Thank you for sharing this splendid work.
After watching nearly all of your videos in about three days, I'm anxiously awaiting more! Excellent stuff every time and so therapeutic, I was vaguely into model making but your channel and pieces pushed my interest to the next level!
Thank you, I really appreciate the kind words! It was watching other RUclipsrs that inspired me to start up modelling again, so I'm glad I can pass on that enthusiasm!
I got to try gluing up all first before painting as I now painting the tools and add it on later. Will do it on my trumpeter C1 for practise. Good one as this video one can see from start to finish before starting one own kit.
Thanks for this video, I recently saw this kit in my local hobby shop and had to get it. I had never done this before so it was my 1st, and I very much used your video for reference and support! The antenna part had my scratching my head for a long time though 😅 Anyway, I very much liked my end result and I'm now working on my 2nd tank (Panther kit by Tamiya) but I have another Sherman waiting for me too. Thanks again 👍
Fantastic job! I want to build an Easy 8 Sherman model and your video inspired me. Impressive painting results. Personally, I am afraid that if I assemble a model and then paint it, mine will look like a soup sandwich. This was a joy to behold.
I love the suspension on these later model Shermans. HVSS just looks so complicated and mechanical. It's nice to see all the working parts of the suspension instead of other tanks with internal components like torsion bar and all the rest.
Good Video. I'm glad I watched this before my build as the rollers were added last after the track was installed on the lower hull. (Made it so much easier to position them). I'd like to say it was an enjoyable build but it took longer than usual. Even with this said, it still turned out OK. Thanks and keep them coming.
Great build. The paint scheme has me concerned, and confused. I agree with the primer. On first look the black would seem to dark, but your final product looks about right. Your final version looks closer than anything else I've seen. Great work. Thanks for posting.
Well done - looks like a nice kit, I've wanted to do this tank for a while. Even before Fury came out.I use ash from the BBQ mixed with water and white glue for mud. It's a nice effect.
I was put off buying this when i looked in the box and saw it was basically the old Dragon kit , part of which was 70s era Italeri parts . Apart from issues with the suspension the gun is significantly short and the mantlet needs serious modification . I didn't enjoy it ; i would only buy the Fury boxing to use the stowage on a Tamiya or Tasca kit .
I`m just building this kit, and just got to the roller wheels, Its good that you explained the problem with the roller wheels, as I am having the same problem, but using your idea, I am gluing them to the rack as well, such a shame as its a good kit. The tracks are extremely tight over those wheels, and it spoils the build a bit. I`ve put the same tracks on as you did. So its definitely a flaw in the kit/tracks.
I've seen the Fury Sherman Easy 8 in the metal at Bovington Tank Museum, it looks really dark in real life, almost as if the whole thing is black, this is a very nice model of it, good work.
Beautiful job! I just ordered this kit and will be using your “step by step”! I would normally paint all of the attaching parts before but your way looks like it will work fine! I saw the real one in Bovington last year. ‘Looks just like yours! Ha!
I think that you're a very good model maker, you're not snooty and make it look easy (and I can assure you that many modelers who consider themselves phenomena do not come anywhere near to your results!)! Good job! If I'll need advice, I hope you're available!
This kit turned up amazing, well done sir! I just bought a Tamiya easy eight Sherman and while the detail is superb there are no accesories like this one and getting resin addons will double the cost. This Italeri kit seems like a good value for the price.
Great video, I’ve just ordered this kit, and the figures are now about £15 for all 5 from China, so I thought it’s worth getting them. It works out at just over £40 for everything
The rubber tracks seem to be this model’s saving grace, the other model I tried to make had to to put the tank treads together, piece by piece, a painstakingly stressful task. This model and its rubber tracks make it the holy grail of model tanks for me.
You are correct about the tracks. The kit initially had t66 tracks, which would be accurate for an a3 in Eto. T84 tracks are Korean war era, but that's what is on the a2 at bovington.
don jenkins Looking at pictures, Especially with later war sherman’s (like this one) they didn’t really care about it. i’m guessing that it wasn’t too hard to send in new tanks when they started pushing the Germans back so overheating the tank wasn’t really a big issue. EDIT: Oh and don’t forget the vents on the underside in the back!
Loved the way you painted the kit, and i want to know how sturdy that weathering paste actually is. The model shop recently added this kit here, so im in a struggle between Abrams Trumpeter, this and Panzer IV from ... Italeri too. Hard choise lol
Great build n all but I have been close up to the actual tank itself and even been in it but I have never seen a camo pattern on it, is it covered over with weathering or something?
I really liked the outlook of the model, it looks great! But let me give you "a couple of spoilers" (so next time it looks more greater): no offence mate but it is most preferrable (of cource IMHO) to paint all accessories etc. separate (so you have "space for meneuver" to put those decales you coud not put on the turret for example) so you can add extra final touches. Or to change those logs for real tree brunches so you don't have to paint them to immitate tree.
great work man, i wanna ask sumthin bout the final coat, did u coat it with a flat clear after u did the weathering? the paint didnt worn out after the flat clear? as far i know the tamiya flat clear is a lacquer type, did u use an enamel paint for the weathering? thx u
Yes I did apply a coat of Tamiya Flat Clear after the weathering. The wash and weathering were acrylic based, but Tamiya's Clear coats don't seem to affect it.
Nice job....but couldn't help thinking that maybe a suggestion at the end with the dirt effects....how about mixing a mixture of some real dirt together with maybe some PVA glue thinned down and applying it to the wheels and tracks.. ? Just an idea that's all...not even sure it would work but if it did it would add some texture to the final look...?
I built this kit twice and while i like the concept, its a pain in the ass to build. You're better off buying aftermarket parts from ebay, harvesting parts and decals from the kit and building tamiya's easy 8
Just a combination of earth colours such as dark yellow, sand, brown, and use different brushes to get a random texture. I then repainted the chopped ends with a sand colour to replicate fresh exposed wood. I didn't have a master plan really, just experimented and played around with the paints.
Him: It's not really not that detailed and it's an easy build (for me thats what he said no hard feelings tho) Me: That thing would probably take me weeks to build and would admire it for like a whole month just because of the detail on that model kit

Hello do you know the equivalent of the olive drab with Tamiya paintings ? is it XF-62 ? because that's the Olive color for Russian tanks so I would like a confirmation if you know it's the same for US tanks like this one.
XF-62 is too green...mix it with one of the other yellows like XF-49 Khaki, XF-59 Desert yellow, or XF-60 dark yellow... never lighten it with white. Once mixed with yellow, you can darken that olive drab with black.
Thanks for the great build video, ModelChili! I have this kit in my queue right after I finish my Asuka Jumbo. Since May, 2015 I've built the Academy and Tamiya Easy 8s, and "renovated" a 20-year old Dragon E8 build. Can't seem to get enough of this awesome little tank! How would you rate the overall quality of this Italeri model? Have you built any of the other manufacturers' kits? Again, thanks for your videos!
Italeri 1/35 M4A3E8 Sherman "Fury": amzn.to/2YVIfGD
maaan !!!! nicely done ! never noticed in the film that it had such a 2 tone camouflage...!
Cheers! Yes it's very subtle.
Fantastic work on your stock Fury Sherman. Good fix to the return roller isdue. Top notch paint job. Bill
Thanks Bill. :)
Maybe instead of the M1A1 Thompson on the turret top it should have been Brad's Stg. 44. But Looks good man.
Heh that gets pointed out a lot, but it was the only gun that came with the kit.
One of the most underrated RUclips modelers out there. This little weekend build looks pretty spectacular to me.
Thank you, you're most kind! I don't mind being underrated, it's better than being overrated I guess. :p
ModelChili Scale Models Good point, keep it coming!
Wow, nice job getting featured on Military Miniatures H.Q. blog.militaryminiatureshq.com/
That's awesome, thanks for letting me know!

Halfway through my project and I'm glad I watched this so I can crack on finishing it off with a bit more knowledge ☺️
Cool, hope it goes well!
Was thinking of getting a friend this for the holidays, thanks for this video!!!
Thanks for watching! :)

Please do more build videos like that, they have great quality
What was the glue with the white lid, that you used on the tracks
Thank you. :) I certainly plan to!
That's just a bit of superglue to stick on the vinyl track.
I got to try gluing up all first before painting as I now painting the tools and add it on later. Will do it on my trumpeter C1 for practise. Good one as this video one can see from start to finish before starting one own kit.
Thank you! Yeah sometimes I really depends on the tank, but most of the time I glue everything on first.
Thanks for this video, I recently saw this kit in my local hobby shop and had to get it. I had never done this before so it was my 1st, and I very much used your video for reference and support! The antenna part had my scratching my head for a long time though 😅

This was a joy to behold.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
War Daddy didn't use a Thompson.
It was a 'recovered' German Stürmgewehr 44.
I love the suspension on these later model Shermans. HVSS just looks so complicated and mechanical. It's nice to see all the working parts of the suspension instead of other tanks with internal components like torsion bar and all the rest.

I'd like to say it was an enjoyable build but it took longer than usual. Even with this said, it still turned out OK.

Thank you! Yeah it's quite a fun little kit, even with its various issues.
Great build. The paint scheme has me concerned, and confused. I agree with the primer. On first look the black would seem to dark, but your final product looks about right. Your final version looks closer than anything else I've seen. Great work. Thanks for posting.
I think fury would look less cool if it wasnt super dirty
So glad I found this video, I’m just starting this build and your methods are helping me immensely. Thanks for posting! Cheers, 🇨🇦
Glad to help! Cheers
you can really see the time and effort that went into the paint alone. i wish i was half as good as you
The Pilot Penguin Thanks :) I'm still quite new to the hobby myself, just takes practice, making mistakes and a bit of time.
I love your bill you did a fantastic job I’m very glad that I watched it before the assembly of the fury thank you very much
Thank you very much!

An amazing piece of work! Love the mud effects and how it looks like it's wet. Only one detail. Brad Pitt used an StG44 not a Thompson.
Thanks!
Wait.. the American used a German gun?
Pedro Enzo Correct! In the movie he did.
Pedro Enzo Have you seen the movie??
@@MSGtJimator I wasn't that interested in it.
Damn that's good! Great work.
Would love to see more of the Bandai Star Wars kits
Thank you! Oh there'll be more. ;)
ModelChili Scale Models where did you get the little hose that sprays the paint on?
Do you mean the airbrush? I just bought it online.
i went to a tank museum (bovington) and they have the tank used in fury.
they used a real M4A3E8 from the tank museum.
M4A2E8
sir you are the best tank modeler I have seen. your demo was simple but was very effective
Thank you kind sir!
I`m just building this kit, and just got to the roller wheels, Its good that you explained the problem with the roller wheels, as I am having the same problem, but using your idea, I am gluing them to the rack as well, such a shame as its a good kit. You are a very talented model maker. Makes me want to go out and buy a kit after not having made one for many years!
Thank you. :) Go for it! Watching other RUclips videos is what inspired me, it's quite infectious.
Beautiful job! I just ordered this kit and will be using your “step by step”! I would normally paint all of the attaching parts before but your way looks like it will work fine! I saw the real one in Bovington last year. ‘Looks just like yours! Ha!

That is awesome! Very nicely done 👍👍👍

Feed the tracks over the rollers, then connect the tracks. That's how I did mine , and everything looks great..
Yes I did enjoy watching. I am collecting parts to build my own and this video has been most helpful..... Thankyou :)
Thanks! :) That's cool, I've subbed to your channel so can't wait to see how it turns out!
Fantastic mate! Missus bought this model home for me today. You’re absolutely awesome at this. Fair play to ya 😁

great job! love the weathering...
Thank you!
You are correct about the tracks. The kit initially had t66 tracks, which would be accurate for an a3 in Eto. T84 tracks are Korean war era, but that's what is on the a2 at bovington.
Why did you cut off the front mud guards on the tank? then seen them in the right spot in the video nice build and a good tutorial👍👍👍
That is so soooo cool!! you are really good at painting it!! Its my favorite movie!
Thanks! :D
A marvellous build done simply. Great technique!
Thank you very much!
Should have two1919 30 cal lmgs
This is an amazing looking model, great job man!
Thank you!
A nice touch would be to replace that Thompson with an STG44... nice work dude.
Cheers!
Beautiful job... and my only comment was the gloss finish...but right at the end you put the dull coat on ! Good job !
Cheers!
Yeah i thouth i was the only one who had noticed that..
Great job. This kit make my fingers itch. Love it.
Cheers :)
18:35 not brad pit’s Thompson but bible’s Thompson, brad pit used a stg 44
wait isnt the thompson from Jon? I saw him carry it when they were arguing if to fight or not
Very nice build, However Brad Pitt used a Sturmgewehr not a Thompson :)
Noted!
Great video, and a very nice tank to and there is definitely no stars on the turret. I saw the very tank from the movie recently and there are none.
How hard are the tracks to put on? I have a very hard time with most and have even stopped building tracked vehicles because of it.
Superb! Its one of my favorite tanks in World of tanks.
Thanks!
it's amazing that you make the detail 100% like in the movie
Thanks!
This is awesome!!
Cheers!
nice looking easy 8, but with all that junk stacked on top of the engine compartment, that puppy is gonna run hot.

Hey that's awesome! I made a FURY using a Tamiya kit and other accessory kits and it came to over $200:( I don't think this one was released then:(
Cheers! Yeah this is quite a good value kit with all the accessories. Not 100% accurate to the movie but close enough.
That is amazing final result! Really love the attention to detail you have done this is definitely a more advanced kit haha!
Cheers!
Loved the way you painted the kit, and i want to know how sturdy that weathering paste actually is.
The model shop recently added this kit here, so im in a struggle between Abrams Trumpeter, this and Panzer IV from ... Italeri too.
Hard choise lol
Thanks! It's sturdy enough for light handling, but cracks under pressure. Just like a lot of things on these models.
Great build n all but I have been close up to the actual tank itself and even been in it but I have never seen a camo pattern on it, is it covered over with weathering or something?
On the actual Fury tank? No idea I've never seen it in person!

Yes I did apply a coat of Tamiya Flat Clear after the weathering. The wash and weathering were acrylic based, but Tamiya's Clear coats don't seem to affect it.

Very detailed information absoulty love it the level of detail
I built this kit twice and while i like the concept, its a pain in the ass to build. You're better off buying aftermarket parts from ebay, harvesting parts and decals from the kit and building tamiya's easy 8
Then why don’t we just buy Tamiya easy 8?

very nice work. I didn't know this was available.
Thanks! Yeah I got this from my local hobby store. Should be easy to get online.
9:23 can you explain, how did you imitate a wood surface? What paints did you use?
Just a combination of earth colours such as dark yellow, sand, brown, and use different brushes to get a random texture. I then repainted the chopped ends with a sand colour to replicate fresh exposed wood. I didn't have a master plan really, just experimented and played around with the paints.
ModelChili Scale Models ok, thanks

I bought it from acornmodels.co.nz. :)
ModelChili Scale Models Ok thank you 😃
Him: It's not really not that detailed and it's an easy build (for me thats what he said no hard feelings tho)

Just build it up one layer at a time, I really believe this is easily achievable for anyone with a bit of patience. :)
A Loser Is Triggered lol
Is there a plan in the box and glue ? This "tank" is so beautiful !
Yes there are instructions, but no glue. And thank you!
Beautiful job!
Thank you!
le rendu final est vraiment magnifique et fidel au film
merci
@@modelchili .
Lovely job, thanks for sharing!!! I wonder why you sprayed the glossy coat tho, flat wasnt the way to go?
Thanks! A gloss coat is essential for good decal placement, also helps with applying a wash. The flat coat goes on last.
Maybe you should airbrush first before you put the last parts on. By the way, the figurines look really good with the tank.
Looks very good, what pigments did you use?
Nice video but I paint my models with the accessories separate but it seemed to have come out really nice the way you did.
Thanks!
