Puppies are used to sleeping in a pile of warm siblings…hence they cry when left by themselves. I recycle a water bottle…12 or 20oz..refill with hot water from sink and stuff it into an old winter sock. This has worked great with our last 3 lab puppies. We put it in a bulstered puppy bed and they relax and curl up with it. This doesn’t mean they sleep through the night..often need one or two bathroom trips. But refill with hot water and put them right back in the bed( in crate). Our labs learn to ring a small cowbell hanging on the door to go out…all three learned within a week. At the door hit bell..say outside..them take them out. Using their paw to ring bell also helps
I just got my puppy 3 days ago! First two nights i didn't sleep at all, i tried doing the exercises and put him in a crate but was unsuccessful and he cried constantly! 3 days later i feel he is starting to understand a bit more! He is in a mini sofa bed on the floor and he likes this better, he sleeps next to my bed and wakes up every two hours for play or toilet! I must say it's quite hard but i am determined to make it work! Thank you for your sessions!

Thank you so much for this video. We have a bell puppy for the first time in 24 years, and frankly I've forgotten a lot of what it's like to bring a new puppy into our home. I was dreading the first week of no sleep as the puppy adjusted. I would have never in a million years though of putting his crate on a table by my bed. I also utilized a Snuggle Puppy with the heartbeat for added comfort. The first night i need to touch the crate a few times, but he quickly calmed down. Last night was night two. We went to bed about 11:30 and he slept until 7am. Not a peep. I took him out and he went potty quickly. I then fed him, set a 15 minute timer, plus watched him. He started whining just as the timer went off, so another successful trip to the potty. Our puppy is happy, we're happy, and having a new puppy makes me stay active. THANK YOU!

A puppy that sleep through the whole night on his first time home is extremely rare. 99% of times he would cry no stop…not sure how many people can relate to that. It’s never so easy, let’s set expectations.
I relate 100%, 1 week with my pup and he usually starts making a fuzz around 3am, it's inconvenient to get up half way through your sleep, but I feel most videos should emphasize that Puppies do not always sleep through the whole night, a 4-5 hour sleep time for puppies is far more realistic until they grow older. This is probably the first video I've seen that kind of addresses puppies waking up in the middle of the night, but to all those new dog owners, just know that waking up halfway through the night is going to be normal in the first couple of months.
I would 10000% agree with you. But for some wild reason. We got a new puppy yesterday and i was READY to be a zombie today. I put her in with us. Laid her down and BOOM. She slept all night! I woke up several times to check on her. This morning we woke up a little before 7 and she was ready to get up but waiting for me to say something. As soon as I said good morning and let’s get up she sat up and waited for me to get her off the bed. Idk what I did to deserve this 😂😂 I have a lot of medical issues and I’ve been looking for a dog to get into training for emotional and maybe even full service. I might have done it.

If I could like this video twice I would! Just want to say thank you for these videos. Your experience and knowledge of the subject is obvious and that's something that's missing from other puppy training videos on RUclips. But the production quality of theses videos is incredible, they're so much fun to watch! I can't wait to work with you guys when my golden puppy comes home!
You guys are amazing. I brought home my service dog prospect yesterday earlier then planned. She hasn’t had an accidents in the house and she slept almost through the whole night. From 10-5:30
My mom is purchasing a dog a lot earlier than expected we were planning for Christmas time . But , I’m a little less stressed binge watching you guys ! I get my puppy Friday and I’m so excited to implement your training skills I can’t wait to update you guys .
My border collie girl is now 1 year old and this video really helped me a lot. I was still dead tired for months because u had to take her out 2-3 times at night, but she was really good in her crate, we hardly had any accidents inside and she has grown into a very adorable well balanced dog (still crazy energetic but that’s who she is)
Specific tips for the first day and week of bringing the puppy home. 100% relevant and helpful as we're bringing a JRT home in a couple of weeks. You're rockin the case study method - thank you for freely sharing this info on youtube.
Thank you so much for all of the great information and techniques!! We brought our new Australian and German Shephard puppy home last weekend and it has been a difficult week. I was really starting to regret getting a puppy. I started to watch your videos and really take in what's being said. I've come to realize I've been approaching training the wrong way and I've learning how to properly utilize the crate and its making a huge change! Today, we practiced following a schedule and having dedicated training time and just in the last 24 hrs, I've seen a huge difference in our new puppy as well as myself. Today was so much smoother, so thank you so much for your great words of advice! It may have just rescued my relationship with our new little family member!
I pick up my new puppy in a month and I'm really learning a lot in these videos! (I've had dogs all my life, but training methods are so different and I haven't had a puppy in 12 years.) QUESTION: When/how often do you offer your puppy water?
15:30 "he is already used to sleeping in a crate with bedding"... so he is already crate trained. so this nighttime schedule won't work for a lot of people, as their puppy will whimper and cry when they get placed in their crate.... unfortunately a lot of soon-to-be puppy owners will see this and think "oh my puppy is going to love their crate", this is how puppy blues begins.
And they had another vid where they said no bedding or toys in the crate because it could be dangerous if they ingest something. So super confusing and conflicting messages.
Thank you for continuing this with 5 Alive. I'm looking forward to seeing more day to day videos with him, and I'm looking forward to seeing how you introduce him to your other dogs. This series is EXTREMELY helpful!
Love this! 5Alive is just so cute! What a bundle of energy and love! Thank you for going step by step and sharing Plan A, B, C! I just read my Puppy Prep guide in readiness to getting my pup in about 8 weeks (due to be born NEXT week, I am so excited!) And I am planning on signing up for your Puppy Essentials Program!

The more i watch your videos the more i realised how much work it takes to train a dog. Im so concern, im getting a border collie in a couple of days and i dont want to fail!!! I have been watching a few of your videos and you make it look so easy, i hope it will be as easy as it looks. Thanks for all your work, tips and amazing videos ❤❤
I am getting a puppy next weekend! I have been watching your videos to get a lot of info. I just wanted to say thank you so much! This has really helped me figure out what I need, and how I should train the puppy on the first day. Your obviously very knowledgeable!
thanks for the video, very helpful, a schedule has helped me with my puppy, but good to see you floating through options, i find it more stressful if i want to get something done and must change options. i'm an empty nester, so really became used to freedom...but i raised twins, many times i could only focus on the next 15 minutes and give up on planned tasks.
I ❤️ your channel and training methods!! My sister and I just bought my niece a puppy and we’re first time dog owners so these vids are VERY beneficial for our tiny 8 wk Maltipoo. You mentioned using controlled access to water (no water in crate)? What type of schedule is used for this controlled access? At meal time and after intense exercise/play?
My puppy is coming home in less than 2 weeks. I have been watching your videos about the first day, first night and more. I'm very excited and hope that I will be successful in doing what you teach with such confidence and knowledge. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
I’m about to adopt a puppy in few days… I can’t wait to have her. It’s a she, a border collie puppy 😍 Your videos are very useful: I have been watching your videos since a couple of months to “get prepared”.
I'd love to know how you got on with implementing the training techniques. I'm hoping to get a puppy soon and I've been trying to prepare by watching these too!
Love all your videos! Getting my puppy next week. I would love to see a video on introducing puppy to other dogs in the house. Not sure the best way to do this and I want it to go well from the start. Our other dog is only 2 and energetic. Worried she might be too excited for the new puppy.
We're on our third day with our 8 week old puppy. I feed & gave him water about 8pm. Made sure he went potty. Gave him a little water around 10, out to potty again. I set a one hour timer on my phone & take him out every hour. We went to bed around 11:30 and he woke up at 7. I made sure to take him right out. I also use a Snuggle Puppy with the heartbeat & he seems to love it. I don't let him play with it, it's only for sleep. I'm very pleased with how it's gone so far.
THANKS, both of you, for the New Puppy series. We're getting a puppy in a few months (on a waitlist for the next litter), and as folks who haven't had dogs in decades, this is an amazing and fresh look at "modern" training methods put together in easily digestible segments. Keep up the superb and thorough (and entertaining--loved the Ozark "clues" graphic!) vids.
We are getting a miniature poodle puppy on Tuesday. What are some of the first things I should do to train my new baby? I know you guys have said in previous videos to get them to know their name and also on and off their bed. But what are the main things besides getting her to know her name that I should do to train her when she comes home?
You ROCK! Your videos are so detailed about each specific topic that I rarely have any questions…and if do, usually someone else has already asked! And you’re also great about replying to said questions. So yea…thank you again! I’m getting my girl in two weeks! She’s an F1 Goldendoodle…mom is a full English cream Retriever and dad is a huge Standard Poodle. I am counting down the days to bring her home and am so excited…and perhaps a bit nervous too because I want to be the best fur-parent possible but I also want a loving puppy! My friend recently adopted a pup (F1B Goldendoodle) and he wants absolutely no cuddling, and is not interested in any type of physical affection from her…or anyone. He was eight weeks old when she brought him home and after four weeks he still does not want any affection, give or take. He doesn’t even get excited about seeing her when she comes home from running errands. He’s not mean or aggressive but he is quiet hyper…even for a puppy! She followed/follows all of your videos (she referred your channel to me!) about body/face touching, hand feeding each meal, holding his bone on the puppy bed etc etc but to avail. THE ONLY TIME he looks excited or happy is when I bring one of my chihuahuas over for a visit/play. It’s really strange, almost like he has a disassociation to humans. She’s considering an animal behaviorist to evaluate him and see if there are any helpful tips that will help him to bond with his human mommy. Anyways…I believe, actually, I KNOW that I would be sorely heartbroken if my new puppy wanted nothing to do with me (she is too!)…that is my only but biggest fear for now! I’ve had dogs my entire life…I’m 62 and I’ve never had a dog that didn’t care for affection/cuddles. Didn’t know it was even possible until now.

We have a dog that was the same.. She hated having affection.. She'd take not much notice of us, but would of our older dog.. So sometimes we'd need to control her through him. It wasn't until years later she became affectionate... Sorry I can say much more.. I think dogs are just more distant.
I'm so glad I found your videos! I'm picking up my new puppy in just over a week (my first ever dog) and I've been so nervous about starting off on the right foot! Your videos are so informative, but I'm still so worried I won't do anything correct@
This video is fantastic:) I initially was excited about potentially getting a new puppy for our family, however after seeing your video, I’m having second thoughts…..
Did you end up getting that new puppy? It’s definitely a lot of work! My puppy is only 7weeks old and she cries and howls throughout the ENTIRE night 😓
Thank you both so much for these videos! We will be picking up our Jack Russell puppy next week and we were so worried about that first day & evening with him. These are such good ideas! And 5Alive, is sure a cutie!
We're going to be getting a puppy very soon and I've stumbled upon your videos. I love them so much and bonus that you're Canadian! I have a question about the nighttime schedule. My husband is a truck driver and goes to bed sometimes as early as 8pm (tonight it was actually 6:30 but that's rare) and he's up very early in the morning (between 2 and 4am). I usually go to bed between 10 and 11, but we keep the house very quiet after my husband goes to bed, for obvious reasons. How should we navigate our nighttime schedule around this? I also am not sure about bringing pup into our room, just because I go to bed at a different time as my husband and usually just sneak into bed so I don't wake him. I don't mind sleeping downstairs in the living room with the pup for a bit if needed, but I'm not sure how sustainable that can be and how long it should last for.
Great video. Could you guys do a video about how to know when to start training your puppy if you have raised the puppy from the time it was born? I can't find much information about how and when to start training a puppy you have had since the time they were born.
What time was bedtime? I noticed you were putting times in the beginning but didn't for bedtime. I want to know what's realistic for sleeping through the night for my 9-week old puppy.
Love everything except the end. Most puppies do not sleep quietly in their crates in the beginning. I’m sleep deprived and a bit cranky. My puppy barks all night in the crate. I tried everything as you trained, she’s not having it. Help!
At my witts end with my 10 week old puppy. Had her 2 weeks, and ive hardly slept. She can only go in the garden at the moment as she is due second vaccination this week.
I am getting my puppy next week, I am watching all your videos now I only need the puppy to collaborate 😅 Thank you so much, your videos are so straight to the point
Aw I hope it’s been going great with your puppy! I know how you must feel- I get my first puppy in just 3 days!!! I’m excited beyond words but so scared 😂😅
Great video! A couple of questions: 1) do you give water to the puppy when you give him food, or is there another time you typically do? 2) I love the idea of sleeping in the room the first few nights. However I wake up a handful of times a night and go to the bathroom. Do you think this would be a bad idea for me to have the pup in our room in case my waking accidentally wakes her up as well?
When we got ours on Jan 8 23 he’s a 1 month old lab all he does is sleep, eat , restroom and back to sleep. But he usually likes to cuddle before bed when he falls asleep we put him in his kennel with a blanket he only sleeps on fluffy comfy blanket. We feed him every 2 hours then feed him the rest when time to eat again

First night with a HUSKY puppy (so it’s problematic af) and we ran around the yard, played and handfed him to associate us with good things. During dinner I touched and bothered him and he ate with no aggression towards me. I watched out for his “tell” and forgave any accidents, cleaning them up and map out his schedule. He slept after biting my steel chair which I can forgive as long as he passes out after tiring himself, and he did. Slept soundly. He got diarrhea for adjusting to a new environment and two days later took him to the vet for the right supplements and suspension for his diarrhea, as well as diagnosing him for any further disease just in case.
I loved your first day video and this follow up. I didn't see you give the puppy water. When do you give it? Do you leave it out? How much should they drink?
35:33 Education starts at home, not letting your kids do whatever they want and believing when they say "I'm fine, I'm not doing it anymore". Please be responsible parents, do not just blame the system or the schools or health services. The prevention starts at home, when you put boundaries and limits and rules at home, and instead letting them go away on their own with their problems like an abandoned cat, please keep them supervised at home. I was raised in a latin family with so many values, my parents were always looking after me, always noticing ANYTHING strange, always caring about who I was friends with, taking me to any party and picking me up, noticing if I had drank or if I was ok. If my parents noticed I was into something bad they would've actually FORCED ME into a rehab or any kind of help; that's not a choice when you're sick, BECAUSE YOU'RE SICK. In latin families, the family members are the most important thing, you mever let them on their own until you're sure they're fine, that's just your responsibility as a parent.
Currently day 2 with my 9 week old Labrador puppy. But even if he can see me he's gets very annoyed that he's can't leave the crate. Please help! I would love to get me and my puppy some much needed rest!
Thank you so much for this! I am getting a new French Bulldog in the spring and these videos are so informative. Where are you located? Do you have options where we can leave our dog with you for initial training ?
oh wow, i didnt even watch the video but ive been doing this with my little guy! I put his crate on a chair directly facing me when i sleep so he can keep an eye on me and doesnt get nervous. I also put my fingers in the crate (if i know he doesnt need bathroom or water) and pull them out when he starts falling asleep. Its been about 4 days now and i build him a little crate/dog pen area so i can do things and create seperation. I will continue to bring his crate in my room for the rest of the first week, then maybe on the floor in my room for the second week, then mayber near the door on the floor then in the living room. I HOPE this is a good plan and it works!
@@blitzmotorscooters1635 honestly, because of pressure from my girlfriend hes been sleeping in the bed after about 1.5 months in the crate. The problem I have now though is that she caves into his every need, will and desire (so does her dad) so he was bonded with me but is now bonded with my gf because of this fact. Im very dismayed, because we have another dog and I had to watch their relationship for almost 7 years and YEARNED for the same. I know love is unconditional, but I am very frustrated and sad that he seems to be no longer my dog :(. The breed is a 4 way split - yorkie, bichon, maltese, and poodle

Glad to watch this now that the pup is home. Mine is 7 weeks old today and getting up every 2 to 3 hours at night. Is that what I should expect at that age? Or can I be doing more to help him sleep longer? How old was Five Alive when you got him?
Hi! I have been watching A LOT of your videos. My wife and I are about to have our 4th boy this month (Sept. 2022) and we are also in the process of welcoming home an 8 week old Labrador Retriever in the 2nd week in Nov! We are so excited and have never had a proper home dog of our own. It is something I have researched if/when to do for our young family for quite some time as we have some special requirements in our home and deciding which breed would best suit us has been a stressful one! To make things a little easier for me (a new dog owner), what are some great questions I should ask the breeder when picking up our newest family member? Some questions I already may have are things like, "What are her bedtime routines like?", "Has she had any accidents?", "What kind of bedding should we use for her crate the first night/week home?" Thank you for all these videos, they are AMAZINGLY helpful!
My new puppy isn't food motivated at all. i'm dying trying to add value to the crate. Thankfully she loves me so response to name is going well with praise. but im so jealous of Five's eagerness to please

Hello. How are you doing with your dog ?
My mom is purchasing a dog a lot earlier than expected we were planning for Christmas time . But , I’m a little less stressed binge watching you guys ! I get my puppy Friday and I’m so excited to implement your training skills I can’t wait to update you guys .
How is it going?
How’d it go?
My border collie girl is now 1 year old and this video really helped me a lot. I was still dead tired for months because u had to take her out 2-3 times at night, but she was really good in her crate, we hardly had any accidents inside and she has grown into a very adorable well balanced dog (still crazy energetic but that’s who she is)
Specific tips for the first day and week of bringing the puppy home. 100% relevant and helpful as we're bringing a JRT home in a couple of weeks. You're rockin the case study method - thank you for freely sharing this info on youtube.
How did it go?
Glad you are enjoying it! The next episode will be out Saturday morning, make sure you don't miss it!
Happy Training!
~Dan
How old is this puppy?
@@jeffreywilliams7205 enjoying my almost 11 week old Brittany, using the Puppy Essentials as my guide! I’m so thankful for the Puppy Essentials Program…I’ve learned so much!
The Morgan freeman voiceovers were hilarious.
I only had to get up once last night. And then woke up at 7:15. Yayyyyy! I Call that success!
I love your videos so far, you seem so emotionally in tune with your puppy already, I can definitely see the love and experience you have with animals first hand. I wish more owners were like you and I strive to be like that also!
How is it going? Just got a 7week old BC, I didn't sleep last night 😢😅😊
I’m getting a puppy in a couple of months, I’m so excited and starting to binge watch puppy vids again
Omg I have twins too and having a new puppy on your own is similar. Trying to get to have a shower.
It’s a she, a border collie puppy 😍
Your videos are very useful: I have been watching your videos since a couple of months to “get prepared”.
I'd love to know how you got on with implementing the training techniques. I'm hoping to get a puppy soon and I've been trying to prepare by watching these too!
I have a 10 week old golden retriever and these videos have been a life saver. Thank you so much for sharing
I wish I could have seen your videos yeaaaaaars ago. My new puppy will ever remain grateful to you.
Love all your videos! Getting my puppy next week. I would love to see a video on introducing puppy to other dogs in the house. Not sure the best way to do this and I want it to go well from the start. Our other dog is only 2 and energetic. Worried she might be too excited for the new puppy.
Such an amazing channel you have. Thanks for all this free content. Can't wait to apply this with my new pup
Thank you we are getting a puppy tomorrow and this video help so much
This is super helpful. I love the editing of this video. Thank you for posting 🐾🐾🐾
This is so much fun, 5 is making me want a second baby puppy 🧡😍 Don’t tell 5 or Koda, Bee is still my favourite puppy 🤫💛
When you say all night, how many hours is that? What time did you put him to sleep and what time did you wake up?
We're on our third day with our 8 week old puppy. I feed & gave him water about 8pm. Made sure he went potty. Gave him a little water around 10, out to potty again. I set a one hour timer on my phone & take him out every hour. We went to bed around 11:30 and he woke up at 7. I made sure to take him right out. I also use a Snuggle Puppy with the heartbeat & he seems to love it. I don't let him play with it, it's only for sleep. I'm very pleased with how it's gone so far.
Great video. What fun you are having! And the information is invaluable.
THESE ARE THE MOST HELPFUL ON RUclips ❤ IM ANXIOUS ABOUT BRINGING PUPPY HOME BUT I FEEL MORE CONFIDENT NOW WITH THESE VIDEOS 🥹🥹
Amazing!!! Absolutely love it. I’ll have my puppy in April and this is right on point (also, I know by heart all your other videos😛)
We are getting a miniature poodle puppy on Tuesday. What are some of the first things I should do to train my new baby? I know you guys have said in previous videos to get them to know their name and also on and off their bed. But what are the main things besides getting her to know her name that I should do to train her when she comes home?
Thanks for this video. Picking up my 8 week old lab puppy on Nov 6th. Can't wait!
nice to have two trainers in the house
Three weeks to go before we get are puppy. Excited and nervous at the same time.
Thanks for all the info! Next week im getting a foster pup, and all my adopted dogs were already adult, so im loving these vids. 🥰
The way he jumps is so adorable! GREAT INFO YOU ARE SHARING!!
Very exciting times, you should check out our online training program called Puppy Essentials! mydogcan.mccanndogs.com/

Have been tormented by my puppy for a little over a month now! Her potty training is going to give me a nerve break down
This video is fantastic:)
I initially was excited about potentially getting a new puppy for our family, however after seeing your video, I’m having second thoughts…..
Did you end up getting that new puppy? It’s definitely a lot of work! My puppy is only 7weeks old and she cries and howls throughout the ENTIRE night 😓
I definitely should’ve thought about this decision hard and long before bringing a puppy home with a 3yr old
Thank you both so much for these videos!
This video is invaluable. Real life situations with options and ideas. Brilliant. Thank you so very much.
What food do you recommend? And treats? What type of cheese?
Great video. Could you guys do a video about how to know when to start training your puppy if you have raised the puppy from the time it was born? I can't find much information about how and when to start training a puppy you have had since the time they were born.
Very helpful,
Thank you So much.
Thank you for this. I am about to get a puppy in about 4-6 months and am trying to edit myself now before she gets here
It's so nice having a tag team on board together for a new puppy. Love this!!♥️
What time was bedtime? I noticed you were putting times in the beginning but didn't for bedtime. I want to know what's realistic for sleeping through the night for my 9-week old puppy.
Love everything except the end. Most puppies do not sleep quietly in their crates in the beginning. I’m sleep deprived and a bit cranky. My puppy barks all night in the crate. I tried everything as you trained, she’s not having it. Help!
What eventually happened? did it get better?
I love your orange nails that match the leash!
She will be excited to hear that you noticed, and I'll be sure to tell her, Kat!
Happy Training ~Ken
At my witts end with my 10 week old puppy. Had her 2 weeks, and ive hardly slept. She can only go in the garden at the moment as she is due second vaccination this week.
This is an excellent video. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this ❤
We just got a puppy today and we have been watching your videos!! thank you so much! (:
I am getting my puppy next week, I am watching all your videos now I only need the puppy to collaborate 😅
Thank you so much, your videos are so straight to the point
Bringing home our new puppy tomorrow evening and I am TERRIFIED. So glad to have stumbled across your videos!
Aw I hope it’s been going great with your puppy! I know how you must feel- I get my first puppy in just 3 days!!! I’m excited beyond words but so scared 😂😅
@@Alyssa-ui7bf How has it been going for you. I got a puppy at 7weeks old and she cries and howls throughout the night. It’s a nightmare 😓
We are possibly getting a poppy later this year but the sleep 😴 for the 8+ week phase is worrying as we love sleep. Thank you for these videos.

I especially loved this video. So informational but also so much humor, thanks!
Very useful and inspiring.
Thanks so much for posting these super helpful videos. I am learning so much. ❤️
Thanks for the thanks, Maurice! I’m glad you find them helpful. Happy Training!
Bringing home my 2nd puppy in two weeks and finding these videos to learn more as one can never learn enough!!
Loving this series. Fantastic job guys ty.
Thanks! Learning lots from your team of experts.
Amazing. Really nice training ^^
So helpful thankyou
Hey, love your videos! I may have missed it, but what breed is your pup?
You guys are so helpful.
Great video. Pets animals. Puppy training.
Thanks
You guys did an amazing job on this video! So much valuable information and great troubleshooting tips.
I loved your first day video and this follow up. I didn't see you give the puppy water. When do you give it? Do you leave it out? How much should they drink?

Education starts at home, not letting your kids do whatever they want and believing when they say "I'm fine, I'm not doing it anymore".
First night was really tough he cried almost all night no one got sleep I made sure to take him out every couple hours and thankfully no accidents in the crate but my boyfriend and I are taking shifts napping through the day today to catch some zzz's, I have a crate in the living room but he was very distressed when we left him alone there should I get a smaller crate to put in my room ? But even if he can see me he's gets very annoyed that he's can't leave the crate. Please help! I would love to get me and my puppy some much needed rest!
So adorbs!!! 😂❤ TY
What breed and how did it go? fully house trained now?
@@blitzmotorscooters1635 honestly, because of pressure from my girlfriend hes been sleeping in the bed after about 1.5 months in the crate. The problem I have now though is that she caves into his every need, will and desire (so does her dad) so he was bonded with me but is now bonded with my gf because of this fact. Im very dismayed, because we have another dog and I had to watch their relationship for almost 7 years and YEARNED for the same. I know love is unconditional, but I am very frustrated and sad that he seems to be no longer my dog :(. The breed is a 4 way split - yorkie, bichon, maltese, and poodle
my puppy's play pen comes in a couple days, i'm putting a travel crate in there, planning to work down there at times, will allow me to cook etc, it'll be by low windows so she can look outside, she and i need a change from the same 4 walls
What do you do if the puppy bites you during play?
I’ve tried restraint recalls with my pup, even with the BEST rewards, and he would love to just sit and stare at you😂
Glad to watch this now that the pup is home. Mine is 7 weeks old today and getting up every 2 to 3 hours at night. Is that what I should expect at that age? Or can I be doing more to help him sleep longer? How old was Five Alive when you got him?
How does the chase and tug game 30 min before bedtime factor into the keeping it calm at night idea?
What is being fed to the puppy during the play time? Is it treats or still the kibble?
Some questions I already may have are things like, "What are her bedtime routines like?", "Has she had any accidents?", "What kind of bedding should we use for her crate the first night/week home?"
Thank you for all these videos, they are AMAZINGLY helpful!
How long does it take to be able to put more space between bathroom breaks outside
My new puppy isn't food motivated at all. i'm dying trying to add value to the crate. Thankfully she loves me so response to name is going well with praise. but im so jealous of Five's eagerness to please
