I have to agree with a number of other commenters and what they were thinking; feet should be placed closer together for a sense of weight being lifted from the ground. Also, why no apple box to stand on, with a chroma drape ... make it easier to key out the feet, I think ... and to have her stand on her toes (from someone who worked in a pro green screen studio as on-camera talent, and as a keying editor). You had a number of people on set, I noticed (for the clip itself), so why not have a couple of them lift your 'floater' (out of the camera line of sight, or simply have her lift her feet up, one at a time) so that her feet could be isolated in front of the green screen and tracked and combined with the main comp as replacement element animations. You managed the same idea with the old Iron Man repulsor tutorial from years back, so this one isn't clever, it's actually a giant step backwards in terms of showing people interesting effects shots and how to go about making them. Also, a lack of shadow isn't going to sell this as real in the slightest (and easily done, using the same isolated key) ... sorry, but those little missing elements of reality really take away any sense of suspension of disbelief. Quite a substantial fail on this one.
No. This "brief (6:11 min) tutorial" serves as a starting-point by-which to create your own work; you're obviously, attempting to vicariously expound upon own pseudo-intellectual knowledge at the expense of the presenter. Clearly stated "create the levitation effect," not composite a physics-based, aesthetically accurate composition.... that's what the other tutorial are for.
Hey Fx home, I can’t find any pop up green screens like the one you used, can you send a link or where you got it please? Most of them that I find are for gaming videos.
I finished my edit but it had a watermark on it when exporting. I only used the “anchor point” and “position” underneath Transformations. Are these not included in the free version? If not, which upgrade do I select to be able to export my edit without the watermark?
@@FXhome alright thanks..up an upcoming video compositor from Zambia.. downloaded HitFilm express really enjoy your videos..is there any way I can any on your platform
Sure that’s all great ! But most peoples would want to know how some citizen was able to do this for real, and not special effects on video, peoples are going out of their ways, to go see this house with mannequin of Max floating up in the air in front of their house, even the cops and firefighters had to go there, because of so much calls of peoples saying someone was just floating in the air,I saw a video of the house theirs way more than just max floating, but I have to admit I tried to look for some wires or something, but it just seems to be there at 12 or 15 feet in the air, no wires visible of anything 😍😍😍😍👍

I mean it’s a 6 min video, so they ain’t gonna spilt it into a 10 part video series… 💀
@@gym5370 Right, but it's better than the shorts era of FXhome. Hopefully someday we can go back to 2017-19 style tutorials
Great tutorial. I'm starting to find my way around in hitfilm, but every tutorial teaches me something new. Great work 👍🏼👍🏽👍🏿
Happy to help!

Two important steps that were not included is, when you are keying out your actor, use the Spill Removal effect, and the Matte Cleaner effect.
Don't stop doing these tutorials! They help so much!
We’re so glad to hear that!

First timer here. Will definitely try it out! Awesome tutorial!!!!!!
Welcome aboard! We can’t wait to see what you create!!

That's so cool! Perfect!!
Glad you like the tutorial!

Now you just need to break a few bones at some key angles, add a few crunching sounds and you're golden! :)
I didn't know how you could do layer properties > blend > screen
this video was very helpful
We’re glad we could help! Enjoy the free overlay :)

If her legs came closer by the levitation...that would be more realistic 🔥🔥🔥

Gonna try this for dunking a basketball haha
The lack of shadow on the grass is a giveaway
Nice

What about a rotoscoping tool like in Adobe after effects and Davinci resolve instead of frame by frame?
This is a good suggestion and something we’ll be sure to work on

why did you use the anchor point to levitate instead of the actual footage
This is just a little thing that allows you to have more control over the animation of your character.

😍😍😍😍👍
The lighting on the character and the background is totally off....
She was literally filmed in the real-world environment, it can not get more realistic than that.
looks fake
It's... a visual effect...
Tried downloading the free particle overlay zip file and it seems to say the zip is empty? Is it compatible for Mac? @fxhome
