@@chaudspielerJust warning you that Romancing Saga games can be quite cryptic, and can easily trip players up with some very different growth mechanics for characters. Got into this series thanks to a certain Japanese Mario World romhack. Here I am, 15 years later, an avid SaGa fan, and we're getting a remake of this classic game. Hopefully they will do the soundtrack justice, and this song in particular.
Honestly surprised at the amount of people sent here by Brutal Mario, myself included. I was expecting more people to be sent here by Romancing Saga 2. I'm even more surprised that the fanbase isn't trying to shoo away the Brutal Mario fans like most fanbases would. I guess that means this game has a good fanbase.
Acrylica Magica the game was Japanese exclusive and is a spin-off game originating from Final Fantasy Legends. It only recently came out remastered for iOS also in English now
The first place or time I heard this song was in Super Kitiku World where Mario Fought all 7 Koopalings and oh my gosh they looked realistic and creepy as HELL!! Hearing that song lead me here and I have no regrets on it.
Ah yes, Super Kitiku Mario... Never to be finished... But you are right, this is where the theme... No, the whole boss comes from. A massive reference to this masterpiece of a game.
That boss fight from the hack was so fucking clever. Romancing Saga 2 had the seven heroes who combine into one big meatball monster with seven torsos, for the final boss fight. There just happen to be seven koopalings too, so I guess he realized that lines up perfectly. Another really nice touch from that hack: This is all foreshadowed by the koopaling boss fights using the theme from this game that plays for the fights with any of the individual seven heroes. Such a cool easter egg for anyone that played RS2 and then also went on to beat Brutal Mario (all, uh, four or five of you, I guess).
I think this song really scared me a whole lot more when I was a bit younger.. I first heard it from the super kitiku mario gameplay. and boy, I couldn't sleep without being scared those koopalings, thinking would show up in the corner of my room at any second..
Dude I used to be fucking terrified of that video on RUclips with kaizo Mario world and this song, but honestly I have played romancing saga 2 and I can definitely vouch that it is a very good jrpg. As for kaizo Mario, we’ll I mean jrpg bosses just kinda built different I guess 😅
So epic...I think this is the most epic music I've ever heard. Seriously, I should play the game only to hear this. As difficult as it is. No need to say I don't know the game, of course, and no need to say I don't jnow anything on the diffculty either...
This sounds like it can be used for a battle against a villain played by Roger Moore, Patrick Stewart, Timothy Dalton, Judi Dench, Alan Rickman, Ian McKellan, Ian McDiarmid, James Earl Jones, Daniel Craig, Michael Caine, Michael Gambon, Christopher Plummer, Christopher Lee, Patrick Macnee, Leonard Nimoy, Sean Bean, Kenneth Branagh, Zachary Quinto, Jet Li, Sean Connery, Ian Holm, Pierce Brosnan, Jonathan Pryce, John Aniston, James Scott[ Ej Dimera] or Peter O'Toole. THAT'S how epic it can be!
Late but... I haven't played the ported version but the SNES version goes like this: The story starts off with a Bard starting his tale about the country he lived in, on how the empire turned into a commonwealth. It starts with an Emperor named Leon who was tasked to defeat the "returned" legendary seven heroes of Varenes (might be a different spelling from the official English translation) as they are not the real deal but mustn't be underestimated. The journey starts with his second son teaching him how to fight and defend the empire once his time has come and his older brother, the crown prince, needed his aid for possible war that they may face in the future. However, it wasn't long for the first prince, Victor, to die and Emperor Leon afterwards, forcing crown to the only living relative of the the two to the youngest member, Gerard. A witch also granted them a "heredity" ability, on which whoever is chosen as the next ruler, they will have both the abilities and memories of the previous emperor/empress. This will go on with several mission you'll face and facing some of the so called seven heroes until you reached the Emperor/Empress of your choice at the very start of the game, but will soon learn that the heredity ability have worn off and if he/she died, no one will be able to inherit the abilities. (Emperor is stronger in strength and have the Dayblade while Empress is stronger in magic and have the Moonblade.) Prolly should have put TL;DR at the bottom but yeah, the game is basically about killing the Demon versions of the Legendary Seven Heroes and your Rulers must defeat all of them (I think it took them a century for defeating all of them) xD
Kenji Ito, the composer is still alive and active. He made the ost of saga emerald beyond and he's far better than he was AT the Time. Search for RE:Birth 2 - last battle to hear his last version of the song. Amazing.

Or maybe an entirely new form? they did add new final boss forms in saga 2 & 3 remake on ds ages ago iirc. We finally gonna see chronodia on switch it felt so unreal.

Me too. However that fusion of the koopalings is an edited vesion of this games final boss called the 7 heroes
I'm going to see if I can get someone to create an animation of that battle.
Dr Akumaro the characters that fought them theory were good or bad
So, this was the theme used for that warped Koopling boss battle...

Interesting. I never researched the lore behind this battle, and it sounds like they did an excellent job capturing the original aesthetic.
