Also I think Azazel is thought to be the worst because Lord of the Pit's effect is a little confusing in its use case. Though it's pretty clear to some that you can prevent your death through its effect, a lot of people don't think you can do that. It also (unlike Holy Mantle) doesn't stop someone from tossing a bomb at you if you end up at 1 HP because it doesn't end your turn, and use on another player's turn is a helpful effect rather than a harmful effect meaning it's harder to use depending on who you're playing with and how bargaining is implemented. I still think Azazel is B tier, but with Requiem coming out I can see him being pushed down to C or even D considering the power budget of most new characters and not receiving any buffs like some of the other characters.

Samson seems very underrated here. It sounds like you’ve played more than me so I might be wrong, but in my experience damage items are typically hard to come by and are usually the biggest targets for stealing and destroying once on the board. Samson having one guaranteed is super useful for this plus you can buff other players and monsters. It’s brutal using Blood Lust on what should be an easy a one attack monster and can seriously result in a lot of unintended deaths even from careful players.
exactly, thats why i think samson is arguably one of the best characters it cuts the amount of rolls you need to make to kill something in half, and for other players, most of the time you make things one shot, plus it can also be a massive bargaining chip if someone wants to attack something valuable and dont want to immediately die honestly amazing character
Once all the requiem characters and warp zone characters are out there, these tier lists are gonna get crazy long. ( I am very much looking forward to playing with psycho Gorman and blind Johnny)
@@xfozty2372 No doubt about it. I also plan on using those 2 characters specifically during my 1st play of requiem's solitaire mode. Obviously I'm gonna use a few houserules, but I really like the idea of just these 2 monstrous looking characters going in and just killing a bunch of monster's.

Eden is definitely one of my favorites to play. One thing to note about Eden though that gives him an advantage over the other characters is that the items he can get are not balance restricted. Most of the characters starting items aren't too game breaking that give themselves a strong advantage (except for Dark Judas because he's broken), the characters that do either have to use a resource like counters or money to use their powers, or have activation requirements. Even with these requirements, they aren't overly powerful like killing a player instantly. Eden doesn't follow these rules, he can potentially get items that can forever change the game in his favor and people need to team up to not have him win. Items like D100, Godhead, Tech X, any attack up item, Curse of the Tower, Dry Baby, etc. All of the items I described are extremely useful and put Eden at A or S tier. I got Mom's Eye Shadow and I was pretty much set to dominate the game from there. I was essentially the DM of the game lol.

Any plans to make a tier list/prediction tier list including Requiem characters and the base character reworks? With base characters having a lot of “recharge this item at the end of turn” abilities, it certainly shakes things up. @@taninrobertson2262 the only games Samson loses in my group are the ones go long and become Samson v everyone else. It is super easy for Samson to clean up in the early game, creating some of the shortest four souls games I have ever played.
Cain and Maggy are updated with Cain top 5 for slight of hand and Maggy with the next amount of damage a player would take and the bone is 5 counters for the soul
I LOVE Four Souls. Not able to play much in person. Only actually played 1 random game at a hobby store that had a table going. I got Eden and my item was (The Relic) Whenever someone rolls a 1 I loot 1. I ended up being able to horde like 30 loot cards and getting gluttony soul. I ended up getting the Box and popping off like crazy. Stole a maxed out Bumbo and played Empress + Chariot and tore through half the Monster Deck in 1 swoop.
Personally I would say that Samson is S tier or at least A tier. In most games that I've played against him no matter how much I screw over the other player and no matter how well I'm doing the Samson player will just get carried hard by the damage boost and end up with loads of soul cards. And if you're the one doing well with Samson you can always just use the blood lust to screw over other players instead of yourself but the plus 1 dmg should not be overlooked it has enough potential to carry a bad run on its own.
Oh. My man. I have played so many more games since I made this and if I made this today, Samson would easily be low A. I don’t know what drug I was on.
Bumbo is banned at my table. A lethal combination of unfun to play as, unfun to play against, and unfairly powerful. I’m glad he’s getting his 4 cent bombs nerfed in Requiem.
So there’s a new expansion coming out and that’s what the Kickstarter was! It’s coming out in March but the base game can be bought from like Amazon right now!
i love eve because my friend had to discard NO! so i cursed it and brought it also i cursed justice and it was so funny that i actually passed out (because each of us had half of the loot deck in our hands)
Samson is s tier...fighting a boss or normal monster with 4 HP now requires 2 rolls instead of 4....depending on your cards and items it will give you a easy game...all you got to do is get good rolls, and you win without much struggle.....just pointing that out

Ya for sure! So with a lot of character eternal items, a big play can usually be cancelled with a butter bean. For example if I were playing as the forgotten and I was going to tap the bone eternal item to get a soul, someone could just butterbean it and screw the whole thing up for me. But with bumbos eternal item, it’s not an “tap” item, it’s a payment item. So if you pay 4 cents you can do one of a few things and the biggest one is deal a damage to a monster or player. So if you have 16 cents, you could play all 16 cents and deal 4 damage to a monster. AND if someone were to butterbean you doing that, it would only butterbean 4 cents out of the 16. So you would still be dealing 3 damage. So in turn, when someone butterbean bumbos eternal item, as long as you have a decent amount of cents still, you can just keep playing the item over and over. Hope this helps!
Personally for me I cannot stand Bumbo, I normally just end up saving money in hopes that I get the soul of greed and then i can deal big damage to a monster. However by pure chance he got me to win the other day: i was saving up - Satan comes down and I decided to buy dry baby using credit card for the fight (it was a shop item) then down comes Chaos card, i buy it and kill Satan immediately I got Libra and Starter Deck. Later on i kill Mulligan so that the number of monsters is expanded by one. Using the money from Mulligan I buy a treasure and it so happened to be Pandoras box + the monster that came down was Mum's heart. I used Pandoras box + Libra to kill it and win! pretty cool if you ask me :D

So as guppy i placed curved horn on the table, after that i wanted to play strength, can i play another card after strength card? Since guppy allows to play an aditional card, am i getting something wrong?
Personally, my S-Tier's are Lazarus, Dark Judas and The Forgotten. I feel no character comes as close to these characters in strength. *Lazarus*: Honestly the best character in the game in my opinion. Having a character that can literally never be in a bad spot, because they get fed off of running it down and taking stupid fights is honestly a little toxic. Haha. Best aggressive character in the game, as turn 1 you can challenge a risky soul that would be a gamble even as as other strong early characters like Samson or the (slightly worse Lazarus) Whore of Babylon, and still come out ahead, win or lose. Then once you do have a treasure engine going, Lazurus is a late game monster as he can't really be shut down without Remote Detonater or Shadow, as he will always just cycle his worst stuff (INCLUDING TRINKETS) into potentially even better shop items. It's disgusting to have a character that is this strong at all phases of the game. *Dark Judas*: A character that gets so much free advantage just by existing. Threatens BOTH Gluttony and Greed souls by just sitting there, which is incredible when Keeper and Guppy both dedicate their once per turn items to one of these souls each. No real counters to the character either. Fairly certain this character did get a nerf announced that should hopefully curb the free snowballing train, but right now the best hope you have for challenging this character is hoping the person playing them isn't paying enough attention and ignores the 6s and deaths. Only reason I think this character is weaker than Lazarus is his harder time being active enough to start his snowballing alone, what with his dependence on RNG and the other in game player's decisions. Meanwhile Lazarus throws himself at a monster turn 1, then plays a trinket and does it again turn 2 and he's off. *The Forgotten*: The best parts of The Lost and Bumbo with none of the downsides. Basically needs only 3 souls to win, and yet can also barter with 1 counter and burst with 2. Item rechargers just turbo this character's scaling as well. Can do the Bumbo burst plays without getting his set-up interrupted as counters are just way better than coins as a payment method. Probably the slowest character to scale out of my top three, but he starts so naturally far ahead with the threat that at any point he can just convert The Bone into a soul that I can still believe he could contest the other 2 reliably.

How many other characters can garuntee a free item turn one by running into normally scary monsters? Then his ability to turn basically any trinket into a treasure is pretty nice too. Then when he's amassed items, how do you shut him down? if you kill him, he's just gonna re-roll his worst item into something potentially better.

Lilith is stupidly broken, best character hands down since she can pressure item placement right off the bat, and has the ability to know your items

So placing the curved horn IS placing your first loot card. So playing strength IS playing your additional loot card. Hope this helps

@@xfozty2372 I see a fellow isaac enthusiast/chad lmao by the time I throw even more on my order The total might be $1500 but that’s only if I get the pins mat and extra merch I’m not already getting but I also know someone that got an everything tier and he said anything he doesn’t want I can have if I have the cash for it and I love having collectible isaac stuff lol I got one guardian angel tier and even a retail tier to get boxes to all my homies for a decent price compared to what it normally is after the Kickstarter ends
