Some of us do care. If the economy was not in the toilet like it is I’d offer up some additional funding to help and I might just do so when I sign up for my next class with AHT. If all of us chip in some maybe we can help with this type of scenario. Lord knows our officers and guys like this are standing the line in a really crappy situation with our system right now.
Money is tight for a lot of people, myself included but I’d put up some extra cash to help AHT bring LE who cannot get to these free events or in this type of case, you get a letter from the school board about your job title and show AHT some sort of documentation, I’d make that contribution

Unless you're an unsworn school protection specialist trained and kitted by the local sheriff's department then you are on your own. They quite literally give us 2 day's A YEAR of in-service training and half the first day is spent on firearms and tccc re-qual. 2days a year & that's enough to keep our kids safe????? Sorry but I am extremely frustrated. We're in nearly every school in Florida and the amount of training after the initial 5wks should be criminal. Our kids deserve better. Thoughts and prayers tho right????? I dry fire a ton and shoot with red dots at my local range but am not allowed to draw from the holster or do combat reloads. Still 5yrs later not allowed to use my RMRrm7 or Holosun 509t on duty but deputies on the road who probably don't dry fire half as much as I do can use both. So tired of NO ONE giving a shit. But yeah thoughts and prayers.

Why not civilians? You can create a competently armed society and those students can spread their knowledge to those who need that extra push
These companies know that law enforcement in general will always have a blank check (your tax dollars) even when the economy is bad so they follow the money.

Is this Leo only what if you are in EMS services
Hey I'm a school protection officer down here with our counties school board so not sworn deputy. We are however equipped,kitted out, & trained by the sheriff's department. We do our in-service re-qual,certs,tccc,& "shoot house" scenario based training all with the sheriff's department. Question is do I qualify for LE training if not sworn?
You may be able to request something from your Sheriff stating this to submit. But currently what is required is a Gov ID credential.
@@achillesheeltactical Great. Yeah I don't think they're going to help us out with extra training. I've tried that already. Glock also won't allow us to buy Blue Label. It's starting to feel like kids being protected properly isn't as high on everyone's list as they'd like the public to think. Hardening schools is of the utmost importance.
Here in Ohio we passed laws to allow teachers to carry, hopefully if nothing more, it’s a deterrent that staff could be armed.
Secondly, LE or not, you’re carrying a weapon to protect and serve as a living. Departments funding your training or not, you are standing a line with a weapon, you should be training on your own.
As a HVAC/DDC controls technician I am responsible for learning my craft, and becoming a professional at it, I spend more money doing continuing education and maintaining my licenses than what ACH is charging for their classes.
If who you’re working for won’t pay for your training, shame on them, but if you intend on standing guard especially over/around children, being an able sheepdog is on you.
I know it sucks and I agree with you, doing what you’re doing your sheriffs department should be helping you with this.
Maybe talk to the principal and superintendent and see if the school board cannot put some pressure on the sheriffs department to help you out here, I mean their department isn’t out anything and Rick and Ryan are offering it free to LE, I don’t see why they wouldn’t help on this.

@@jw5297 Thank you man & I absolutely agree with you about the training being ultimately up to the individual specialist. I dry fire a ton everyday both with the issued 17 & with my personal 19/RMRrm7,G45/Holosun 509t,& my EDC G43x & honestly the dry firing has been what's made me fast and accurate I feel. I have a dude who was my Battle during the initial 5wk pistol/carbine course who was SWAT up in Pennsylvania and has since left the Guardian program to start his own training company. Blue Line training down here in Florida. He offers extremely discounted fighting pistol course to LE & Guardians alike but that's only once a year. I extremely appreciate him for everything he does for us & has done. I spend quite a bit on ammo every year with 0 help from the sheriff's department, school board, or anyone else. I don't expect anything for absolutely free but come on man LE gets discounts on just about everything. I have weekly encounters with my liaison from the sheriff's department and am constantly bringing up more training, an ammo allowance, or even opening up the department range for a couple days a year with red shirts on deck. I bring these things up constantly and am always met with "I agree" or "have you put it in an email?" Yeah I have emailed,left messages,spoken in front of the school board, and have begged fantastic dude's like Tactical solutions, Regular Guy, & a few others & everytime I get the "no it's only for LE but thank you for what you do". & I super appreciate kind words but it just gets very disheartening to not have any real support outside of Blue Line training who does everything he possibly can to help. Not trying to be a bitch I just feel like our kids deserve the best and don't think I am wrong. Ok I'm done now.
