    I would prefer iContact Camera Pro due to its resolution and good sound quality. I would actually say that the microphones in iContact cameras felt superior to many Logitec webcams out there.

    Would be good to have seen the zoom of the icontact pro. I bought a different camera that doesnt zoom (also lower quality) so am looking for a replacement. Overall great comparison so I think I will now get on an order one.

      Hi Chris! We currently offer an app (iContact Control) that accompanies the iContact Camera Pro for mac devices where you can zoom in and out, as well adjust a variety of other video settings. We are developing a similar app for windows/PC as well.

      Hi! This question is for the vendor, who replied on the above comment. I use Windows 10 at work. Will your app (under development) work with it to adjust zoom, saturation, and such?
      Estimated release date? I love the eye contact aspect.

    This was a very helpful and informative review! Thank you. I do have the iContact camera and when I'm in a Zoom meeting, I don't know what my eyes look like they are focusing on to other people in the meeting, because if I look at my image on screen it looks as if I'm looking totally away from the other speakers! I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong or if it needs adjusting. I have the camera placed right over the person to whom I'm speaking. Is that where I want it?

      I think it’s sort of a personal preference. Test out different ways and with your “friendlies” ask how you appear.

    Does the motion blur bug you on the contact pro? Did you notice it? I can see it in your video when you move your move your hands.
    It’s bugging me but I like the set up of this camera

    Insofar as it seems the iContact Camera App is only available for MAC computers, there is no way to zoom in or out if you are using the Pro camera on a Windows computer, is that correct? In other words if you are using the Pro camera on a Windows computer, it is a fixed focal length with a field of view as we saw in your video demonstration with no ability to zoom in or out. Is that right?

      There may be some tweaks you can try through either the webcam or video software you are using.

    Good comparison. I just bought the iContact Camera Pro for use on my PC monitor. It appears that the iContact App works only on MAC, not PCs. Is that true?

      I don’t have a PC to test on. But yes, the software is for the Mac.

    I think they iConatct Pro is better resolution on picture and sound but... the iConact pro sound has a lot of hiss/noise which is unfortunate - but doesnt it have a noise filter adjustment?

    • @Hightechdad
      @Hightechdad  7 месяцев назад +1

      Personally I recommend using either a built in microphone (like on your Mac) or an external higher-end mic.

      @Hightechdad I do have a Yeti mic for podcasting which would probably be good. Also Im hoping that this iCam will work much better with using a teleprompter app on the screen which doesnt work all that well with still having to look up at the top of the computer into the camera - makes it harder to read from the teleprompter. Thanks

      Hi Obi Wan! We currently offer two different products: the original iContact Camera and the iContact Camera Pro. The iContact Camera Pro features exceptional 4K resolution, an upgrade from the original model's HD resolution, and offers lifelike audio quality as well as stereo noise-cancelling microphones. The Pro model also features a top mount that accommodates a glow light, enhancing the lighting quality. Most importantly, the iContact Camera Pro provides a swing that you can flip the camera on and off the screen.

      @@Hightechdad It was a manic and confusing review, like a person with a divergent squint speaking in a crowded room, and you’re not sure who they’re talking to.

    • @Hightechdad
      @Hightechdad  4 месяца назад +1

      Sorry you felt that way. It was tricky to film having multiple camera inputs so that comparisons could be made between the cameras.

      I appreciate all the hard work you put in so thank you for that. From the point of view of someone interested in buying something like this to solve the lack of eye contact in zoom calls. I think it would have been better to do have done the comparison of both models on the laptop first and then the monitor. And properly set up so that the camera is at eye level, so that the angle to your face is not up or down. The main selling point for these cameras, and why people are interested is the eye contact. If you spent more time first demonstrating the eye contact benefits you would have our attention, plus the pros and cons of both models. The arm lengths are different so how do either of them work on a laptop for example? Showing the difference of both models on a monitor then a laptop would have been helpful. Then the second half of the review could have covered quality of picture, field of view, configurability etc. just some constructive criticism and I apologise for my earlier remarks!
