I have this bass, it's great. The Pau ferro fretboard sounds sooo smooth! Super well built and finished too.

Hello, could you help me by answering the following question. Does this Fender model come with an epoxy mask on the fretboard?

@@alzate_3d no it doesn't, that's the Custom Shop Tribute, which has all the relic, too. This is the Signature model and has a pau ferro slab board covered with urethane, so the feel, sound and durability are VERY similar

@@dysmorficgrind2913 I appreciate the time you took to read my message and respond. I'm trying to gather as much information as possible to find out which Fender I can buy that is closest to the Custom Shop model, since its price is out of my reach. So this bass would be the best option in the order of ideas.

ruclips.net/user/shortsKQzbFxqvSQ8 This is my current bass. A Modified Fender Jazz. Ebony fingerboard. But I would like to take the next step.

@@alzate_3d well, if I were you I wouldn't change yours for the Jaco signature. I like pau ferro, but ebony is far way better. I have 2 other custom built fretless basses and they sound way superior than the Jaco (which is really good, though). If you want to improve your sound, upgrade with some custom built pick ups
