I really enjoyed this book when I read it and I remember mostly seeing negative reviews, which really confused me! Yes it’s short, but the writing is great and the story itself was so much fun. I laughed so much while reading because it was hilarious at parts! Thank you for the review 😊
I loved this book, I really connected with the main character, as a painter myself all of the art stuff really grabbed me and the concept of painting emotions into a Fae was a great concept.
I have many many many questions after the ending and I would love to hear some of ur theories: 1. How can Isobel and rook be together for long when she’s mortal and he is immortal? They won’t have long together unless there is a second book which I doubt. 2. Who the heck is king or queen. 3. What did rooks true form really look like? I had a hard time picturing him without his glamour. Did he look like his glamour but more skinny and pale like I have no idea. 4. If Isobel is the Queen then why has the land turned to autumn? Is rook really king? 5. How come rook and feel feelings but the other fae can’t?
I loved this book, but just wanted it to be longer or maybe even a series, like you said. I wanted to hear about all of the courts and the world. I can't wait for her next book. I might have to read this again in the meantime.
This sounds like a great time. I enjoy an intense and complex fantasy, but every once in a while one likes to take a breather with something like this... maybe this would make a good pallet cleanser between mistborn and storm light? (Yes, I’m new to the Sanderson train ... 😜)
I remember it being fairly entertaining when I was reading it, especially the premise was what interest me. That being said, it fell short for me because I just needed a little more in each category. The writing itself weren't too flowery for me and I was able to fall into the atmosphere/scenery well. Falls kind of in the middle and I got rid of it from my shelf after so it should've been more of a library read. I'm intrigue by her upcoming book but I'll wait for a sale or borrow it from the library (even though the cover is amazing for her books)
I’m excited for the upcoming book as well. I did kinda want this to be a series, but I think if someone is looking for a short, well-written fae story, this one fits the bill :)
I usually don't read shorter books, but you've sold me on this one. It sounds interesting, but not overwhelming. I also love seeing regular (non-magical) people as protagonists. I'll definitely bee checking this out.
Your review made me read the ebook (I usually only buy the physical copy if I'm really sure I'll love the book or I've already read and love it, because my book shelf has limited room.) I've been really let down by Fae YA books and had heard only negative things about this one. After I read it... I bought the physical copy.
Oh yay! That’s so great :D I get what you mean; there’s a lot of Fae books out there now. This one just had such a whimsical, sweet tone imo, whereas others seem to be much darker. Not that either is better than the other, but it’s definitely a preference thing :)
I really love your reviews! It's one of the only ones I watch even if I'm not interested in the book, but you actually made me interested in this book, so yay! =D I am reading her next book now and it's interesting, but with a fantasy standalone (also the case for the new book) I sometimes feel like I don't know the world well enough, but it's a cool change from so many worldbuilding-filled series, so I'm just trying to let this feeling go and enjoy the story haha
I loved this and agree with everything you said, especially about the romance and the sweet feel to it. I was really surprised by this one because as a debut I went in with low expectations. I also thought it had some good funny moments that made me laugh. This author has a new book coming out next month and I’m excited to read it, the synopsis sounds SO GOOD.
Thank you for this review! I have this on my TBR and was definitely expecting political intrigue rather than a traveling story. I’ll enjoy it more now going in with the right expectation 😊
Oh good, I’m happy to hear that! It’s not an intense amount of traveling, but it’s definitely an element. The politics are quite minor in my opinion, but there’s some sprinkled in :)
An Enchantment Of Ravens sound like something i could get into. The book size is perfect & i liked that you said that it's easy to get into with the direct reading style. So this girl made this guy look weak to the people with a painting? I Lol now i gotta read this to see what happens next. Great review Elliot & it's great to see you back on here booktube pal. Have a great day 💫
I think you were right on point with this review. It felt like an old school fairy tale that had some meat added. I personally really liked it and I liked that it wasn’t a series. It’s a simple love story that’s sweet and magical, but not too much schwoopy love stuff. I’m not a fan of long travel segments in stories, but this one was just right and the imagery was beautiful! I look forward to her next book to see if there’s more of that type of writing. 😊
@@ebnovels this may not be the video for this comment... But i just wanted to thank you for introducing me to Mistborn! I'm in book 3 and am starting to feel very empty, just thinking of it ending!
I like how you can give a review for a novel and not reveal any spoilers. :)
Well thanks! I try 😊

This is a very very late response but.. the book answers most of your questions tbh, maybe give it another read.
I've got to stop watching your videos! My TBR cant take it!! Lol
Haha, well if you pick this one up, I hope you like it 😄
Just finished! And yeah, I would LOOVE this as a series, but I loved it the way it is as well. A great summer book for me 😊

Yes, I wanted that too! But I’m super excited for her next book 💖
Sorcery of Thorns, the second book by this author, is absolutely AMAZING

My 12 year old daughter and I listened to it on audio book and LOVED it. I really want to read her new book. Great review. 💖💖💖
I want to read her new book too! I’ve heard good things :) And that’s really sweet that you and your daughter listened to it together 💖
Honestly LOVED this book loved the ending even more I think it’s my favourite
Since I haven’t read this book, but it’s on my tbr, I appreciated hearing your thoughts without ruining the story. 😊
Would you say this book was like a Ghibli movie?
I read it in one night. It was insanely amazing. I would love to see this as a movie.
I just finished this book yesterday and I LOVED IT!
Hi great video!! I hope u enjoyed ur trip to Ireland?!! Happy weekend reading to u!! 📖😄
I did! I’ll put up vlogs of it soon. And happy reading weekend to you as well :D

Another great video. I love your reviews! Hope you had a good time in Ireland :)
I just ordered this book yesterday!! I can’t wait to read it!
I hope you enjoy it! I thought it was sweet, and the writing was very pretty and atmospheric :)

I’m really excited about her next book! I think it’s going to be a stand alone as well, but don’t quote me on that 🤔
@@ebnovels Yeah I'm pretty sure it is. :)
please do a book chat of a reaper at the gates!!
I have! 😊
You've done it again! Gonna have to read this now haha...
I hope you like it! 😄

Oh my gosh, the ending 😭😭😭 I’m both excited and sad for you to get to it!
I missed these videos :D
I don’t mind traveling stories as long as they go somewhere. Ahem.
I hate love stories, though, because love is a lie. A lie, I say.
My brother has had a recent breakup and says the same thing haha... But I don't know...
