  • Today I will be unboxing and assembling my brand new Summit Goliath Ultra SD Climbing Treestand. I am no stranger to Summit climbing stands as I have a Viper SD Ultra as well. Although I love the viper, this year I wanted a larger stand. Summit has made a lot of upgrades since I last purchased, which was nice to see. I am eager to get it in the woods and start hunting !
    Do you have a Summit Treestand that you love ? Or even another climbing stand that you prefer over the summit's ? Let me know in the comments below !
    As Always, Thanks for watching and I will find you on the next adventure !

    I just got one last week and hunted with it this weekend. I am definitely going to add some sort of padded tape or something similar to the exposed rails. My gun clanked on it repeatedly. Wish they offered a full pad wrap. The two pads that were included don’t cover much. Other than that, I do like the size and footrest. Good video!

      I haven't gun hunted out of mine yet, I have bow hunted and didn't have that problem yet I understand what you are saying. Did the SD coating not help with the clanking like it is supposed to do ? Great idea to get some of that insulated wrap and put around it though as that will deaden any sound for sure ! Thanks for watching and good luck on your adventures !

    Have you ever heard or seen a tree lounge stand. The best and safest imo, just heavy. 50 lbs I bet, I shot lots of deer out of it, but its time to move on. Im sold on this one.

      Funny you mention that, My Pappaw has one and he hunted out of it for years, like you said its real heavy but it sure is comfortable.

    There's no tree stand as comfortable as the summit Viper best tree stand on the market

      I agree they are amazingly comfortable, sometimes too comfortable then again nothing beats a good nap in the woods !

    where do those black cap things go? theres 4 of them, they were in the video before it was cut on the tailgate

    • @MAD_Outdoor_Adventures
      @MAD_Outdoor_Adventures  2 года назад +1

      I wish I could send you a picture as it would be easier, but I will try to explain. The black caps go into the top and bottom platform where the stand attaches to the tree there is the V at the end of those V's there are square holes one set larger than the other. These black caps plug the larger holes. Why they want you to plug these holes I am really not sure probably to help keep water or pests from going in or maybe it helps with the SD technology ? Either way I hope that helps, if you have any other questions please let me know ! Thanks for watching !

    I’ve been so interested in these bad boys recently. Definitely need 1 in my life. What’s different in the Ultra?

    • @MAD_Outdoor_Adventures
      @MAD_Outdoor_Adventures  3 года назад

      Summit makes amazing tree stands in my opinion, you wont be disappointed. I think the only difference in the Ultra is it comes with the foot rest and you do not have to buy separately.

    When you unboxed it’s looked like the footrest was included. I just ordered the Goliath from Gander and I don’t think the footrest was included. Did you purchase separately? I can’t wait to get mine and practice for next season.

      I ordered mine from Cabela's and yes the foot rest was included. I think that is what makes it an " Ultra " is the foot rest came with it. If you don't have a foot rest I highly recommend getting one, especially if you are going to sit all day it helps a lot !

    Thanks for the video. Just received mine and I can't seem to be able to get the two main pieces apart. I notice you did initially struggled with it, and wondering if there is a trick to it? I don't want to force them apart risking causing paint coats coming off.

    • @MAD_Outdoor_Adventures
      @MAD_Outdoor_Adventures  3 года назад

      Hello, Yes I did initially struggle to get the two pieces a part as they seemed really jammed together. To get mine apart I had to flip them upside down ( Platform Up ) and that seemed to relieve the pressure and allow me to separate them easily. I wish I would have tried that earlier as I did end up rubbing some paint off of mine. I hope that helps if I can help in any other way please let me know !

    Is there any way you can show me a pic or do a video of the backpack straps? I don't have the slightest clue how they attach to the stand and the directions do not seem to help me. Thanks!

    • @MAD_Outdoor_Adventures

      I will try to find the original backpack straps and see what I can do to help you out.

      I can't find my original straps, TBH probably threw them away as I went with the XOP backpack system. But in the video 18:24 -19:50 I attach the straps that came with the stand, I hope that helps ! Thanks for watching !
