My favourite quote by Mohnish Pabrai is on patience: "You don't make money when you buy stocks. You don't make money when you sell stocks. You make money by waiting." Love it.
The single biggest advantage a value investor has is not IQ. It's patience and waiting. Waiting for the right pitch, and waiting for many years for the right pitch.- Mohnish Pabrai. I read his book The Dhandho Investor and now I'm uploading chapter by chapter summary. Highly recommended
The point about listening to what the customer wants. Listening to the feedback and acting on it. (The last point) And not going on what was first thought. Thank you Evan Carmichael very much.
One of the few truth tellers in the investing world! I realized the only thing I needed to do was be smart enough to know who to listen to. My favorites have been and still are John "Jack" Bogle, Warren Buffett, Charlie Munger, Walter Schloss and Mohnish Pabrai.
This guy is all about endurance and marketing, he emphasizes on the competitive edge, analyzing the market from the shoe of an investor rather than from a 'pure' spreadsheet perception, thus adjusting 'company design' to reach a steady flow. He doesn't like what he defines as 'risk' but doesn't mind taking calculated risks to build onto reaching an adequate steady flow, maybe then looping into higher steady echelon ... A lot of business insight, yet we must keep in mind that it also enjoying what is left from the 'sense' it can make of a free-market ... Happy free marketing :) 'n' hopin' their will always be some kindof investment to keep it up... gamblin' goplins financial crashes create a desire for 'safe-interest' - a 'no-free' banking-boss market zone-... or otherwise we need those flow 'motts/moats' with all those piranhas (patelles or not).... then the piranhas can eat us all up...:))))) @diehard

Great video!!!.. a whole new different perspective I should say!!.. very refreshing... Don't pitch to others what you yourself wouldn't buy!! That's a great advice ..
Thanks! How about interviewing Phil Town. I liked that the idea of what you pitch might not be exactly what the consumer wants, so listen and find out what they do want.

+Evan Carmichael try doing Larry elisson top ten, also Bob parson's founder of GoDaddy, Ryan Blair as well, also Reid Hoffman and also Mike Tyson, Arnold Schwarzenegger and also Sylvester Stallone etc
One of the messages here is to compel your customers to want to do business with you. I was struck by the caution to define your market and have something COMPELLING to sell to your customers; do not sell something that you would not buy yourself and pay attention to feedback because your product might not be the exact thing that the market is looking for, what works for your customers may not be what you came up with. Avoid precision thinking! :o)
Hi Evan, We have been a fan for a while. Congrats on the book. When you put the information out there for the pre-order, I will definitely be purchasing. You have no idea how much your words and your videos have truly helped in keeping me and my team pushing. I do apologize if this may be long but I am stuck and in deep need of your help. Let me start by saying, I am the editor-in-chief of a print/online magazine by the name of C’est Moi Magazine. The magazine was founded in 2014. The main reason I wanted to start this magazine is due to a personal friend who is also a photographer. We were having a conversation about life and she mentioned that she sent her work to a well-known magazine but the response received was quite discouraging. It made her not want to be a photographer and made her feel that her work was not good enough, which brought the push needed to bring this magazine to light. It took many emails to photographers, makeup artists, etc but we were able to release our first issue which became a catalyst we needed to keep us moving. Now our goal is to bring more exposure to the creative talents that honour us to feature their work in our pages, make it more cost efficient, and to reach an extensive global market (make it more physical and creating distribution). Of course, revenue is needed to make this dream come true. Making money is not even a factor in the equation; we just love meeting new people through their art and helping people. We have sent out emails to prospects with a copy of our media kit, started a kickstarter, building efficient content, etc .We have received responses from our emails but not what we are looking for. I remember you mentioning about how you built your initial business by creating partnerships. My questions are: How and who would you advice to create partnerships especially from a magazine standpoint? How to make more of a social media presence so potential investors will see that we have value? (I notice other “starter” online magazines that may have just been created 2 days ago, now have over 10,000+ followers, which makes me start to question, “OK. What the BLOODY hell are they doing? Are they buying followers? WTH. “ I do not have a sales background but I love the learning as I go along(even though frustrating at times). Your help and input will be greatly appreciated. cestmoimagazine.wix.com/cestmoimagazine instagram: @cestmoimagazine

Thanks for making this video guys. There is always something insightful to take from each of your videos. I love the different perspectives each speaker gives. As for me, I would have to say that 4. & 7. resonated most with me. Number 4. because I love the designs I create. They are as much a part of me as my own beating heart, and a pure form of self expression. I get so many compliments on leather accessories I wear, and the people I engage with unusually end up being customers. They know that my work and integrity speaks for itself. Number 7. hit home because I see the value in learning how to effectively market my handcrafted creations, and am learning how target an audience who is drawn to my story. I work diligently to show the depth, value, and appreciation I have for my clients, along with my attention to detail. It takes time, and I am practicing patience. Thank you so much for being a solid source of inspiration for me and so many others! Much love. #BTA1😃🙏🏼
