- Hey guys, I decided to make a video about one of my favourite tv show, Merlin. I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed doing it! :))

I think it’s important to know that love between friends is also important. It doesn’t have to be gay to be real. I love Arthur and Merlin.
I agree. Especially with this show and the writers portrayal of the legend of King Arthur.
The fact that Arthur has no idea what Merlin is truly capable of and is primarily his servant, there is a massive amount of respect and love between the two of them. Just because that love is platonic it doesn't mean that it's not as intimate and affectionate as romantic love. You don't have to feel lust for someone to feel love.
My best friend and I are 100% heterosexual, we're both married and she has children. Our husbands are good friends as well. Not even during our crazy years of partying and drinking did we lose our inhibitions and make out with each other! In fact, for almost 3 years every Thursday after work we would go out to the same bar to meet up with our "crew", it was a 10 minute drive from my apartment, we would take a cab there and my dad would pick us up at 2am when the bar closed. He didn't want us driving, obviously. Also, he was a bit overprotective and didn't want us intoxicated in the same car with a stranger. We would sleep in my bed, nothing sexual ever happened. We'd get up after 4 hours of sleep, shower, get ready for work (we worked at the same law firm, only we were assistant's to different attorneys). Those were great years! Now that I'm looking back, I can't imagine going out, drinking and dancing for 7+ hours, getting less than 8 hours of sleep and going to work slightly hungover. We weren't completely stupid, we drank plenty of water in between shots of tequila and our beers! Friday was almost the same routine except we'd get to sleep in on Saturdays! Sometimes we would stay at her apartment...we would have lived in the same apartment complex except my rent was higher, I NEEDED a washer/dryer for my own use!!! The thought of using a communal laundry room or God forbid a laundromat just makes my skin crawl. 🤢 I also paid more because of my cat.
Her apartment complex didn't charge extra for pets monthly. I paid $75 extra a month for my cat and she only had to pay like a $200 yearly deposit for hers and her dog.
Ashley and I will be 40 next year and have been friends since 3rd grade.
If we go out, to the mall for example, we usually walk together with our arms linked at the elbows and we find it hilarious that people think we're a couple! When we were children no one thought that us holding hands or linking arms was anything other than just friendship. (I actually think that many people have completely forgotten about the love that can exist between two people and not be sexual. It's seen now as only an indication of sexual or gender identity and that is really scary.).
The majority of people are missing out on necessary connections with people because they are only looking for romantic sexual love. That's not the way humans are built. We need close connection's to truly thrive. Platonic contact with others, physically and emotionally, increases your brains serotonin and dopamine production.
(There have even been studies on how people feel happier and safer after hugging a complete stranger for at least 10 seconds or more)!
@@emmaleigh837 you say your friend has children and you both are approaching 40 which probably translates her children are nearing the end of their high school years. what do you hear from her when it comes to her kids forming [same-sex] friendships? anyone doing what you did and linking arms while walking in public places? sleep-overs beyond the age of 12/13? any of the intimacy and affection we believe to spot between Arthur and Merlin going on between them and their friends? if she had a son and he would behave like Merlin to Arthur towards another boy, would both parents be okay with it? how about sleepovers at 16/17 or older? linking arms at the elbow etc? any idea the treatment they would get in school/college?

Its not the song. Its those cruel writers of merlin who should spend time time in jail.
All the mistakes made in the perfect "Merlin" series:
1. that the dragon killed innocent people.
2 .Arthur killed a man -that king.
3 .that gwen cheated on Arthur.
4. Merlin advised Arthur to refuse the witches of the desair and arthur did not accept the old religious belief. This is how it kept mordred alive.
5. Arthur executed the Druid girl and caused Mordred to turn against him.
6 .that the stable worker was killed only because of Gwen.
7 .that Arthur is killed! he should have lived and go back to the palace to rule with Gwen and continue to enjoy Merlin as a servant and to enjoy Merlin's magic.
8.that in general magic wasn't accepted in Arthur's time and that it should be a distinction between good sorcerers and evil sorcerers and magic being used for good or evil.
9.also that in the past Arthur attacked a druid camp with his soldiers.
This was heartbreaking 😭😭😭 so beautiful, so true, so much love and brotherhood

I have an anger deep inside for that ridiculous way of ending the show and never getting back to it. I have a great sadness for the fact it has really ended
And a deep love bc it was an amazing journey of all the charachter developments and story line and the relationship between Merlin and Arthur growing into a beautiful friendship... God... I'm glad that I watched the show and that the fandom still lives bc I was scared for being way too late to all the amazing fanmade content hehe

We all ignore the end and the stupidy of the writers. To me Merlin and Arthur are still together till this day. Just ignore the damn ending. Imagine something else. I do. They thought it would be special to kill Arthur at the end to keep it emotional. It wasn't special. It was disrespectful. Just ignore the ending .I do.
How did you expect it to end? Arthur dies! He dies in the legend. The only thing that makes me mad about this series, is the fact that Arthur didn't find out about Merlin until he was dying!
In the legend of King Arthur, the knights of the round table and Camelot, everyone knew Merlin was a sorcerer!
However, I am happy with the fact that they didn't portray Guinevere and Lancelot as deceitful lovers behind Arthur's back!
