Honestly you need to be getting a royalty from Joying. I was very skeptical about them but after this video, you solved the main issue with the headunits which is tge volume control. I will be buying into the Joying brand for my current car build. Thanks and that app is awesome.
Popped in my first Android head unit (Joying) a few days ago and just tried this launcher today. Superior to the stock launcer which has barely any costumization.
For those annoyed by the logo bug, here is a workaround. : 1 - Download your logo (plenty of them lying around on the net free of charge) select a good quality one. 2 - Use a free converter if need be online to make it PNG and clear background. Also, make sure your logo uses only 50% of the canvas size. This is important. 3 - Go to AGAMA with your logo on a USB key for instance, call it whatever you want as AGAMA will simply call it logo 1 anyway. Select custom from the logo menu the one at the bottom of the list below, car, bike trucks... Select yours once you pointed to your USB key or wherever you stored your logo file... and voila! Note: you may not get the size right at first, so it may take you a couple tries to get it right. Keep at it then. Share your successes here for others to learn from.
Hi, Thanks for the great video. I now have the App installed. Can you possibly advise: Before and After I installed the app, whenever I start my ignition and my Eonon headset starts up, it automatically displays the "Extra Settings" menu in the Eonon, but I can't seem to find a way of having the homescreen of the App automatically displaying as the default start up. I always have to hit the Home button everytime I start my car/unit (to remove the Extra Settings menu). I'd greatly appreciate anyone's advice. Thanks! 🙂
Hi, great videos ! I grew up driving Saabs and Volvos, love that old Swede steel. Question on the Joying units, having difficulty with communicating with Joying. I'm installing a Joying 10.1 in a RV so you know if the rear camera cable can be extended ? .oops to simply be RCA style cables but I'm unsure if adding 2 meters to the cable length will work. TPMS seems to be problematic with joying sensors, I need 6 sensors for the RV to be fully covered can I use a outside source TPMS android compatible ? Is the head unit limited to two USB input dongels ? Thanks, Dad had a Red 900 Turbo S with all the spoiler add on's, crazy wonderful car. I drove a few Volvo's but my fave was my Canadian 78 242 GT it's been 30 years now miss it still. Cheers
Hey Ron, thanks for subscribing! The reverse camera is just an RCA with a separate trigger wire. This can easily be extended another few meters without issue. You can use a USB hub to increase the amount of available USB inputs, although I recommend you use a powered USB hub (one that can take a 12v input). I'm afraid I can't help you with the TPMS as I have personally never used that function
Nice video and very informative. I have installed a 7" unit in an old classic Bentley and it looks good and I have made an aluminium Bentley name plate over the Joying name, I would now like Bentley diplayed on screen but these apps do not seem to have the Bentley logo, any advice?
Nice explanation of this application. I wonder if there is any way you could install different icons into the launcher ? I do this on the computer for different folders on the desktop . Interested in finding out if this is possible ? Also maybe changing things in the background , like a personal photo . It would be nice if it was more customizable to the user's preferences.

But yes big but, am torn between px5 good fit, but the Joying 10.1 is really appealing to me , with top buttons inoperative on the dash, plus extra space existing above standard screen . Hi! Well i considered putting the 10.1 in the NG 9-5 but it would have interfered with the night panel button. Also there is an angle to the dashboard to take into account. The PX5 has the added benefit of decoding Canbus and interacting with the cars sensors.
Great informative video. I recently purchased the Qualcom Snapdragon AINAVI android head unit. Will this launcher work on that head unit? Or is it only for Joying head units?
Hey Matthew! No, I can't open the cup holder. This is a 10.1 display and the only reason I installed this is because I already owned it after removing it from my previous car. You could go for a smaller Joying, maybe 8 or 9 inch to leave enough clearance for the cup holder. Or, if you're adventurous, you could cut into the dash so that the 10.1 is equal depth.. That will allow the cup holder to work. As for ease of install, it's as easy as any other aftermarket radio. The most difficult part for me is accessing the relevant wire behind the instrument cluster for the steering controls

Why icon Compass didnt work on my Head Unit ? it said NO GPS installed ( in the center of compass). Actually my HU had the GPS antenna module n it works for GMaps app that I used. FYI, I installed Nakamichi Elite for HU. TQ for explain.

I'm talking about the widget on Agama launcher in the centre of the screen. The navigation widget wasn't compatible with Waze. Waze as an app works fine

@@SaabUnleashed they do not work on my new joying radio, when i press the plus and minus, it just shows a big white bar near the bottom of the screen that says "MAX" on it. the AGAMA folks say the volume doesnt work on all units, but they seem to be referring to the units that dont use the android system volume, which the joying unit appears to do. In any case, i am using a usb volume knob that works like a champ plugged into the OTG usb port.
How on earth do you configure the phone button to work with your phone? Is it under Bluetooth?! Cant see an obvious option under apps... Good vid by the way 👍
Honestly I have a love hate relationship with this launcher. It never seems to retain the information I put in. Feels like every few days I have to reset up everything except the colors. Volume control does not work. The pop-out for the next song is horrible as it always shows the album art of the previous album. Just issues with this app

Netflix cannot be downloaded from the Playstore or side-loaded on ANY Android head unit because they have blocked access. You can only assign apps that are in the app list, the native FM radio not being one of them. So I have to sacrifice using the native FM radio in order to use this or any other launcher. Kind of sucks a bit...
This head unit has a built in FM/AM/DAB tuner with associated app. If you're using a phone or tablet without a tuner, you can set up an app that streams radio

I always rent the top end Volvos when travelling the world where they're available, except in the States where I'm forced to rent the Challenger RT :)

I've messed with this for ages , then found 'head unit' app which opened up original settings - long press and voila , all working !!!

It probably means that you have not allowed location permission for the AGAMA app

I guess that depends on the unit? On my Atoto S8 I can assign the radio app like any other app in this launcher.

How to Unlock Android 10 Pattern Lock, I have to do this every time I start, otherwise I can't use the device.

I am currently using this app and can confirm its the better than most, but app speedometer is not accurate 5 miles different

My grandpa's model T also had this so yes it's kinda old fashioned now. But it still works.
