Hello from Montreal, Canada! Fine work on your videos. I've watched a few now and I'm likely going to binge-watch the rest over the next little while. Hope your channel does well. Thanx!
Once more, another really good and very interesting historical story you've made me aware of. I love your work, please keep it up. I am looking forward to your next one! From your number one Thetford fan, Tim.
I have only recently discovered your channel and love your look back into historical events that are obscure to the average viewer, thanks for sharing your stories with us all. One thing I would ask is if you would consider slowing down your narration slightly, sometimes it gets difficult for my old brain to absorb, thanks again for your very interesting and entertaining stories. 😀👍🇬🇧🏴 P.S I thought the weapon would turn out to be blunderbuss, or the pistol version of it as it is the only weapon I can think of that could fire irregular shaped projectiles. It has been said before and its something I am working on don't worry It has more to do with over editing after I have heard a clip 7 or 8 times a 4 second pause seems like forever when of course it isn't for a 1st time viewer.
How wonderful such a fascinating story albeit tragic especially for Mr Drew's wife and children. What a despicable and sadistic Mr Drew was to relegate his family to servants quarters, while he wallowed in luxury with his mistress in the house. Well, Karma caught up with him, but at the expense of his son. George 11 was incredibly generous to Mrs Drew, hats off the King 🤴 At least they lived in luxury after all the heartbreak. Thank you 💛
I wonder what happened to the mistress. The sisters should have thrown her and dear old dad down the stairs. Make it look like an accident and they tried to catch each other and both fell. Poor Mrs. Drew having to put up with the insult of the mistress in her home.
I figured you were going to bring the letter introduced at the beginning into the end of the story and have it say he was giving his son the money making his murder a waste.
I am fascinated that in this and others tales there was a “Get out of jail free card” on offer! That makes perfect sense as criminals are the most likely to hear what other criminals have done. Truly, we ought to do that for our unsolved cold cases. When crimes are committed it is impossible to do a perfect crime. Someone somewhere knows something… but often has reason to stay silent. Money in reward is of no use if in speaking to Police you end up in jail yourself.
The man was offered 200 hundred pounds a year until when? That was a lot at the time, right? Turnkey was a term still used in old Jimmy Cagney flicks. Or Bogart ...
This an desired to be killed, he moved his wife and children out to have an affair in the main house. No one approached this so called nobleman about this or question this. Men be very careful how you treat your children and their mother.

@@derklavierspieler7491 Well, at least the poster had enough sense to recognize it for the mild disappointment it was. You are just playing the kettle to my (as you perceive it) pot. Or maybe it's the other way around.

Thank you very much, not sure when but speaking of Thetfrod I have a video on Thomas Paine in the works.
New fan 'from across' the pond. Great stuff.
Me too.
I don’t hear that many cases like this from that time period. Excellent job!!!!!
💯👍👍👍 great content, blessings from Wales 🏴

That suffering Mrs. Drew had to see her son die for the father's sins. Why didn't the father's despicable behavior come into play?
Who can know? Justice, life, behaviours, attitudes, cultures were very different back then.
New to your channel. I've been watching everything you have presented in the past. I'm hooked! Thank you for the research. Happy in TX!
Thank you.

Most awesome, you got a new sub 🥊
Great story and fine bit of history, but why did those very interesting illustrations go so very fast!
Good work apart from that.
Because I'm really bad at editing.
@@alittlebitofhistory Not a bit of it, you are FAR better than me!
The King who assisted the Drew Sisters would have been George II (1727-1760) rather than George III as pictured.
woops yep so it would of been my mistake of that 1
Thank you. Great channel 👍
Well Don! Thank you. ☕️

It's an insane amount of money for the time more than your average person would earn in a year.
So sad 😥🌹🙏
no wonder people don't open the doors to jahova witnesses

I'm not sure there were workhouses in 1740.
I was unaware of that, all the sources mentioned them but I will keep an closer on on things like that in future, thanks for letting know.

@@J0EYisnumber1 Just happen to be online at the time you posted.
Please speak slower, narrator sounds rushed & overly excited
"who could OF done such a thing?" Seriously? Come on , man, you can do better than that.
I am trying to keep on top of things like that but trust me I'm really not better than that.

If there is more information about this that you have access to that I have missed I'd love to hear it.
