A person's life is never a footnote. You just gave Lorenz Beha a life in our minds and memory. Good video!
As strange as it may sound that remind me of something I saw in play years ago that I sadly can't remember the name of. something along the lines of " Everyone dies 2 deaths, the 1st the end of their mortal life and the 2nd when the last person speaks their name for the last time."
I like your comment, Idovlin! And the reply!!! Both very memorable. I think I will remember them the rest of my life!
I'm always struck by how careless the criminals are, didn't destroy the blood stained clothes, didn't hide the stolen goods in the woods but of course if they really thought things through they wouldn't be be criminals in the first place
Another excellent presentation from a man I admire more as each week passes. Thank you.
Thank you for such an open, interesting and honest depiction of the life and times of our past.
Another bit of history, thanks for sharing it.
Any bit of history is interesting to learn.
A gruesome tale but well told. A couple of side notes: the 'bundle' our poor victim carried, here in US, in 'Hobo Speak' is called a 'Bindle'. The ledger book carried used to be referred to as a 'Pocket Book'. Now Women carry them but this is where a Man kept his accounts. You have a great presentation.
Very interesting thank you
@Dusty Tables Your username made me smile. 😁
Very interesting story.. the pictures really bring the story to life…Thank you…..👍👍
Really interesting thanks, I’ve never heard of that case before. Sounds like he was an opportunist who took what he could sell, sad to brutally cut a life short for such greedy motives.
I like the photos and sketches used in your videos, they give a real sense of going back in time. I also like how the local pub was used in such a multi purpose way. Talk about making the best of a bad situation.
On a side note, my mother in law is from Kings Lynn and I have visited Baden Baden, both beautiful places.
I am finding that pubs were often used to store bodies and things of that nature back then when needed, I doubt health and safely would be please about that today. Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Your channel is awesome, love it. I've been sharing your channel with everyone I know.
Keep up the good work, I love the unknown story's you tell. Not the ones ever other channel tells over and over.
As much as I will be covering more well known topic too, I don't want to just cover the same stories other already have. That being said I have recently found some info meaning I can over a major event in the countries history from an point of view that is often ignored.
This video appeared on my watch list, and so I watched it! Very happy I did! I quickly subscribed and Liked. Looking forward to the next one!!
Ah yes the pub. The pillar of any community.
The more times change the more they stay the same.
You’d love the book “Norfolk villains. Rouges, rascals and reprobates” by Neil R. Storey… the name itself should cast interest and is a very very good read
On my list of ones to buy tbh but I do have his "A Grim Almanac of Norfolk"
Oh hey, I’ve been reading Villains too ;) yes some good snippets there.
Another very interesting video. I've limited my how often I watch so I don't run out of your videos!
Inside Norwich Prison there is a small grassed area which contains the graves of some of those executed there. In Winson Green Prison the old execution room had been converted into a dentist's surgery. The chair was fixed to the hatch in the floor and the beam was boxed in above the chair. Any prisoner having treatment was unwittingly looking up towards the piece of wood from which many people had been dispatched!
Fantastic Norfolk history once again. Told in story format. Brilliant. Thank you. Can you find any information on smugglers murders Burnham Deepdale.
I will be honest first time I have heard of it but now adding it to my list, many thanks.
@@alittlebitofhistory I really enjoy your content. Well done.
Vielen Dank und schönen Tag aus Berlin👍🇩🇪
Thank you I hope you have a nice day as well.
First time viewer, excellent episode, btw I'll be back Sir!!!🙏👍😎
Great and interesting story, Keep it up man I love local history like this
Love your channel!
Thank you.
Well researched and presented.
There's something missing here in the account but the "why" can be missing in life, people just do things in the moment. Envy, jealousy, perceived desperation, who knows.
Bringing history to life. Excellent
Another interesting gem.
Thank you.
Regards from Loutraki Greece
Thank you.
Love your voice can understand you ever well keep up the good work and I will keep listen
Thank you
the pub you showed? It was the Griffin in Tittleshall , Not the one you show. The body of Mr Lorenz Beha was found in a nearby ditch Friday 18th November 1853.
His body was brought to the Griffin where it was seen that evening by surgeon Mr. J. Jump of Litcham. He further inspected the body the following Monday.
How sad
I'm waiting for you to do Ned Kelly. Hopefully he's on your list.
Well can't do him directly as no connection to the area but he does feature quickly in the one I'm currently working on
The bag on the stick is called a Bindle.
Fascinating history, just seems Bach was murdered for a personal grudge as nothing that really amounted to anything was taken
Excellent.
👍🏽
Thanks
