    why use an example with no outliers when ur practicing finding outliers?

    Thanks for the nice demo!
    However, I am wondering why you chose the cell (B6) to do Standardize formula. Why not B3 or B8?

      You are welcome. I just randomly choose a cell to start, you can also choose B3 or B8 start.

    How did you determine that -3 and +3 where you outlier limits?

      Based on the empirical rule, we should have at least 99.7% observation within 3 standard deviations from the mean, so any observations that are outside the 3 standard deviations from the mean will potentially be outliers. After we standardize the data, and the data will follow the standard and normal distribution (mean 0 and the standard deviation is 1), so we should have 99.7% observation between -3 and +3. Any standardized values that is larger than 3 or smaller than -3 will potentially be our outliers. Dose this answer your question?
