Why???? They literally *call attention to the fact he's doing it purpose all the time*. After the boat crash, Michael sarcastically says "That was really funny, Gavin." Gavin says "Alright, that was the last one" while audibly clinking a glass. It's not scripted, he just gets drunk and then plays as haphazardly as possible for his own amusement. I always knew that and it's why it was funny, he was basically a giant wildcard.

This serves as a reminder to all of us of just how much Gavin sucks at driving, shooting, running, pretty much everything in GTA except flying
I agree that Gavin might not be very good at GTA, but at least 50% of the things he does are on purpose for entertainment value. So he's probably a little bit better than he lets on, just maybe not by that much.

Most of the time I find Gavin genuinely funny, but I think this is the one video I really disliked him in general. He wasn't being silly, he was being just plain stupid, at times purposely hampering his team. He's like the anti-Jack.
But he's a lovable brit, so that makes up for it

To this day when Gavin gets that cop car stuck with Ray yelling "How does this happen!? How did you do that" cracks me pretty damn good.
The Cops and Crooks series was and still is way more funnier than GTA:V stuff, I admit It does have its moments, but it doesn't force me into hysterical laughs as these videos did.
I find that some of the GTA V stuff is quite hillarious though. I remember I was playing a game while watching some of the GTA V stuff and there were times I let go off my mouse and keyboard because I was laughing too hard. This would be in the top few nonetheless

They are all unique, and awesome in their own way in people are open to enjoy whichever one(s) they want. Persoanly, I like Ray and don't care too much about Jack. Doesn't mean I'm going to bitch about and bash Jack. I actually would choose him to build my house. He has plenty of practice. Enjoy the fact they have dedicated their living to making these videos for our entertainment. All of them. (No particular order) Geoff, Jack, Ray, Gavin, Michael, Ryan, Caleb, Kerry, Lindsay, the two I know is there but can't remember their names. They are all wonderful people.

I like to think Gavin is on the Lads just to counteract Ray and give the Gents a chance.
It’s funny watching this after listening to F**kface recently, Gavin talks about how in the early let’s play days he used to get a lot of sympathy from the audience whenever the guys made fun of him and that he felt the sympathy was undeserved, so he decided to try and be as big an asshole as he could for a while in videos till he lost that sympathy. All these years later he’s still loved, but hats off to him for being able to make stuff like this believable when I watched it 10 years ago.
He wasn't "faking it" like you're implying, he was just playing as intentionally haphazardly as possible. They verbatim call him out on it several times in the video. idk why there's this weird idea that he was "pretending to be stupid', you can just get blasted and play as crazy as possible and it amused Gavin to be the "wildcard".

It's Janurary 24th 2024 and I still watch this because I miss this dynamic. With NO disrespect to the ins and outs of other members from me, nothing beat this time of Roosterteeth and Achievement Hunter videos. I hope one day, after a good break, they make a return and take their time.

The fact that Gav's doing half the shit on purpose is blatant to anyone who watched the Minecraft Let's Plays where Geoff literally started attacking him IRL because he wouldn't stop fucking around. You HEAR Michael telling him to fuck off IN THIS VIDEO after Gavin crashes the boat on purpose. That's why Jack gets so much shit, because instead of joining in the atmosphere, he sometimes takes shit way too seriously.
And yeah, I'm a little old for their content, but I'm not about to be a dickhead and say "LE MANCHILDREN" when it's obvious to anyone with half a brain cell that most of the fanbase were initially teens when they started watching.

I like how people are complaining about how Gavin likes to fuck things up.. Jesus Christ you fucking up-tight nerds, it is just a game. These guys are obviously all friends and they are just having fun. Without Gavin, these would be a lot less entertaining. I couldn't even laugh at the stupid shit Gavin was pulling, it was actually pissing me off.

I enjoyed GTA 4 story & online a lot more than GTA 5
I couldn't disagree more. 5 just felt so much more polished, and I thought it handled the missions and characters way better. That, plus it was about 100 times prettier and bigger, and online had a great sandbox mode as well as game modes.
***** It just seems to have aged really badly. I think it's due to style, like Borderlands came out in 2009 but because of its stylistic direction it still looks pretty good, in a cartoony way. GTA IV went after realism, so the degradation of its comparative prettiness is much more obvious.
+AllwaysRight1 I mean, I played it on PC. I disagree, still think the assets look blocky and the textures are really jagged. The colour scheme is also really dull and muted and the motion blur is way too heavy by default.
GTA V = Decent storyline, awesome heists, 3 player switchability was cool and the attention to detail in the map was great but the overall feel of the game and the way it played just wasn't my cup of tea
GTA IV = Powerful storyline, gripped me to the last second - fun physics, driving was more realistic, pretty dull environment in general but overall not too shabby, the general gamplay (shooting etc) felt more real - better gun sounds etc
can't think of anything else of the top of my head but yeah (edit: the LaTD & BoGT add ons were amazing and the way they strung the storyline together was awesome)
***** That's a good point, I still prefer the story of GTA V as well however, as it fits with how I enjoyed the rest of the game. I liked the very cynical view it took of LA society, kinda like San Andreas but more focused on the dysfunctional innercity rather than the backwards outback. I thought some of the missions were spectacular, examples like the torture scene, which really forced involvement into the story more than most other games. And as I previously mentioned, the look, the world, the gameplay, it all fed those missions and the way they were able to go with the story itself. As for online, I think an online server is what GTA was always begging for, and I think the sheer simple fleshing out of it guaranteed it one of the most popular and wellmade online modes of all time.

Man, watching this years later I'm damn 20 now, as of may 5th. I remember binging these as a kid just like "woah, these guys are funny as hell" laughin my little ass off, always go back through these vids for nostalgia, but it hits different now, ya know? Fucking crazy, like I'm a damn adult, 16 and 18 are big milestones but 20 really fucking hits you, makes ya think ya know, tf am I doing? Fuck, like I'm really an adult. Watching this kinda makes me sad, like damn that was middle school, so long ago! I've got a job n' shit, almost no free time anymore, and this is just from a simpler time in my life. I really do love these old plays.
