@@squircled6274 Yeah, the game REALLY does not tell you enough in game about what's going on, which is particularly harsh for a game that's gonna appeal to a lot of younger players and/or people without moba experience.
They really need to explain some things like scaling, last-hitting, the actual bonuses of drednaw/rotom/zapdos, the double points in the last minute, etc.
There's obviously still gonna be a TON for people to learn from places like reddit/youtube/discord. But those really basic elements of the game would be so incredibly helpful.
Even just teaching people that you should be setting up your carries to last-hit wild pokemon would be incredibly helpful in playing at lower ranks/standard, imo.

I remember when I laned top with Zerarora and focused entirely on rotom thinking drednaw was completely useless. I somehow got a +6 win streak (most of which I was the mvp of which made me think I was doing a good job) before I looked online and found out how detrimental I was being to my team
His sarcastic comedy is super entertaining. This is a challenge for him patience wise due to playing with inexperienced players
It's also super entertaining seeing how many times he goes splat cause his precious Eject Button & Buddy Barrier isn't there to Molly Coddle him. :P

You do have to buy buddy barrier and score shield, you don't get it through normal progression.
Also, If you'd like, you can pick up either Greninja, Cinderace, or Crustle early, and you'll get a full coin refund when you get them for free!

@@spragels Personally, I'd love to see Machamp! They have great carry potential, and don't see a lot of play on high ladder. Plus, it's super fun to run around suplexing people!
I hit Masters last night with the Help of my Friend! He’s still in Ultra 4, but I’m gonna help him Get to Masters. I also want to thank you for all the Information and Updates you’ve given everyone that helped me learn more about the game and it overall helped me in the long run!
First match was almost certainly a bot match. Also, keep all the battles please. Love your content, love this series, and I'm always looking forward to the next vid on your channel. Of the 4 or 5 Unite content creators I follow, you're easily my favorite. Yeehaw!
Its in the beginner rank, so its likely that its just real players that are bad. He wouldve needed to hit a lose streak to face bots (which i really doubt he hit in the beg. ranks)

@@SonGoku5363 Possibly, but the way they played (running straight at you, not much movement while attacking, and only retreating when their health is too low to eacape) and even the time of surrender are very similar to my bot encounters. I understand the same can be said for beginners that are new to the game and/or new to MOBAs, but even beginners tend to have more sporadic actions than the bot AI. And you're right, he wasn't on a losing streak (single loss at the end of the last vid). But, suppose someone on Jake's team had been on a losing streak and Jake just happened to be matched into it? Dunno if that's a thing or not, but seems reasonable. So that's my line of reasoning, but hey! I'll never know for sure.
@@nathanseager3394 When its a Bot game, your entire team is also bots, not only the enemies.
@@SonGoku5363 That hasn't been my experience with every bot match. I've played games with only the enemy team being bots. It's possible that the games I'm referring to may not have been solo queued, but all other members that were on my team were human players.
i love watching these videos! they also make me feel a bit better about oscillating between vet & ultra in solo queue endlessly, watching nothing but master rank games sure is demoralising lmao

I myself hit masters yesterday fully f2p and solo queue, and god was it difficult haha. Very excited to watch how this series goes!

@@MONKZ-Tc2 yep solo. Played a couple of matches duo, but 99% of my ranked matches were solo. It was hell haha, had to main Lucario and Greninja to do it.
I love watching these! I'm new the game, and new to mobas, and it helps me see where I need to improve vs where my team is just being weird and I was probably doing thing reasonably.
This series and the podcast like videos w/Krashy and Cozy are my favorites

It might be cool to do a series where you watch gameplay footage from viewers and try to guess what rank they are. Kinda like gothamchess's guess the elo series. Not sure how it would translate but I think that could be fun after this series!

Just had a game against you on your main account. You had a garchomp feeding bot lane with a blissy trying super hard to keep him alive. I was the eldegross getting the Greninja and Lucario fed. U were the Snorlax standing in my way at the Zapdos fight. Was almost certain you saved it and we're gonna win that Zapdos from zoning so well.
Oh that was a very odd match but I really did think we had it at that last fight. GG!

I prefer seeing all the matches. This series is giving me some ideas for my master rank climb. Me and my bud that I play with are struggling to get through expert rank at the moment.
As someone who took forever goin through expert via time constraints (made it 2 expert 4 almost out) and stuff, the best thing you can do is find a group of people you vibe with and to find a nieche or 2 you do well with them instead of being a jsck of all trades in randoms

@@spragels any tips to keep my team from picking fights that we cant win/are just not worth it. Ive been maining snorlax/mime mainly, and feel obligated to help when they go for dumb shit. Sick of telling myself "why are we chasing" or "please just farm" Im ultra 2 and feel i should be past these problems.

Forget unite moves, you weren't even remembering to use his regular moves. You easily could have taken down that mime a few times if you'd just used your fire punch instead of trying to save it.
Loving the series so far, gonna be interesting to see how much it picks up when you get Cinderace on day 8.
I use crustle and he is great. When you can use buddy barrier, attack weight, and either score shield or scope lense. And I love the show please keep doing them with all the battles
Swap out Attack Weight for Muscle Band (If it is level 20 or higher) since it's more stat efficient early and better in the late game because of it's passive.
At 18:47 you can see the zera's ult indicator flicker for half a second, and at 18:54 you can see zera's ult disappearing, that dude was mashing so damn hard he ulted a corphish, and I find that hilarious

FIrst match in this video is a match against bots. All 5 enemies not moving when they attack, auto-surrender when behind by 300+. You'd think for someone bragging about how many games he's played, he'd know that by now. Why does he think it's against real people? To quote spragels "Cuz you don't know what's going on."

Just FYI (incase you or anybody else didn't notice this): You can be matched with anyone who is ranked between Beginner rank 1 and all the way through Expert rank 4. The last match kinda looked like you had some beginner rank 1s on your team and they had some expert rank 4s. Lol. But don't worry, it gets worse once you hit Expert rank 1 because then it opens up to literally every rank except masters. You can see this right above where it says "Season 1" when you go to que for a match. "Eligible ranks: Beginner, Great, Expert!"

In the first game, the enemy team was bots. You can tell because they surrender immediately once you get a 300 point lead. I have other reason for thinking so as well, but these reasons sound a bit conspiratorial and since my name is also Jake I would rather not risk it. You know.

I use x attack when I play talonflame and it's so nice the amount of times he would've killed someone or multiple people if he used x attack is infuriating 😂😂
Veteran is the most frustrating rank. Got 2 solo f2p master accounts and started a new one. Im not an expert on the game but man the veteran matches is brutal and players are all over the place during zapdos fight. Also the jungle steal is so frustrating.

at 35:17 that zeraora using it's unite is like "no, you don't get to score"
In the shop you can spend aeos coins or tickets to get the held items out of the clothing shop, honestly id recommend tickets since they are easier to get over coins at least for me.
When you get to the lower-mid ranks like Expert it would be awesome to see you do a variety of roles in these videos. Would love to see some soloQ Blissey and Eldegoss

@@spragels I know you attempted that a bit to start with and obviously it didn't go well in Beginner ranks. Hopefully you can revisit Slowbro, other defenders, etc with a bit more cohesion later. Love the longer-form gameplay videos. 🤠
With Charizard it is as if they sacrificed damage so that he is tankier but since he doesn't have damage he gets under leveled and loses that edge anyway.
Yeah they can increase his cooldowns a bit but definitely needs to do more damage.
@@michaelh878 long cooldowns could be a death sentence for any champ, I think he needs a his movement and attack speed tweaked a bit. He was the pokemon I picked at the start but I moved on quick - one pokemon he definitely needs a buff or something.

On the topic of Pokemon in your jungle..
One game i was playing Zeraora and called central area. Everyone else but a Gengar called their lanes, and when the round started, the Gengar followed me to the jungle. Now, i was of course annoyed and continued to fight the wild Pokemon
The Gengar, however, just stood there until the Pokemon i was fighting was on low hp and they will o wisped it. They continued on just waiting till the last moment and stole almost all of my kills. If that isn't asshole-ish, i don't know what is.
I wanna say that first match might have been humans vs. bots? It's just that they surrendered pretty much instantly after those last three simultaneous dunks (300 pt lead) and every time I've gone against a bot Eldegoss, she's used Cotton Spore (also noticed her standing in place a lot).

dreadnaw isn't always the right play if the rest of your team is elsewhere fighting the enemy off; in that scenario you are the baddie for not backing up your team.

28:37 Whenever I ping “keep the pressure on” I usually mean it as a “Nice play!” Like winning a Drednaw or Venusaur getting an insane snipe. I really wish there was a ping mid match just to tell teammates they did something cool.

15:52 I am confident that what we are seeing here is a result of the multi-Jake continuum collapsing in upon itself, even if only for a brief moment. A blip on the radar? Perhaps. But, if left unchecked, this sort of anomaly could resurface, having untold and earth-shattering effects on the entire Jake continuity as we now know it. I love this series so far very relatable
I'm a player who does free to play and zeraora carried me through beginner and great rank but I felt he wasn't optimal after that and now I main defenders zeraora is still fun tho in standard
Yeah I don’t love any of the speedsters but I’m realizing that in these lower matches I probably just need to carry
Like with me Ninetales was my carries along with Cinderace, and absol in the game, but than I got better with the other attackers too. Now I am an attacker, All-rounders, and Speedsters in the game of Pokemon Unite, but not much as an defenders or supporters mons even though I am getting better with some of the defenders in the game. So I am making a rule that I need to become a defenders mon now too since Umbreon will be the next defender coming into Pokemon Unite which I want to play as Umbreon like I was playing goodra and lapras in the game too.
I’m doing the same thing. Started fresh and made it to expert 3. I’m stuck here as solo que. I win 1-2 then lose 2-3. I main support but have no problem filling if needed. I’m player level 12 and am matching with people in their late 20s. I feel like around later expert/vet it’s hard stuck hell. Decent players with a large amount of games that can’t progress in ranked due to skill. I’m fine with missing skill shots or not securing a kill but these players don’t understand basic mechanics and are handing games over no matter what I do to prevent it. It’s a noticeable wall but its possible to break through, but my god this is a headache as solo.
best tip I can offer is learn a carry role. As a support/defender player I find there are times where I have to play a lucario or an adc

In the fight at like 9:30 discharge first. Would have given you a shield first then ulti and you would have 3 v 1 no problem.
