To measure the flow through a pipe we use flow meters. All we have pressure and temperature for the fluid flowing. To measure volumetric flow we use orifice. The orifice restricts the flow through a pipe and consequently there is a pressure difference accross the orifice plate. That difference is used to calculate the flow in pipe.
