An interesting new tactic - instead of having a completely black screen for the first catchphrase, they make it some colour other than black to make it look like it conceals *something* when it doesn't! Interesting to hear some pieces of music in this episode for the first time.
I see what you mean, i did not notice that before, that also means that Wikipedia is wrong as it says that series 4 has 12 episodes, this means that series 4 has 16 episodes. but that's not the 1st time the info has been wrong on there. this also means that series 5 will have less episodes. Family Channel also showed a 1989 episode part way through series 7, but i did not know if this was series 4 or 5, i will look at the end of the programme as the end copyright will tell me, thanks for your help with this. i also wonder if they showed any of the episodes in the correct order now.
I've looked at the other episode that was shown part way through series 7 on the Family Channel and found that is another episode from series 4 so that means that there was 17 episodes in series 4. I've looked at some old TV Times listings and the dates for series 4 are wrong on Wikipedia. I will update that.
TVSproductions82 Thanks for clarifying. I did wonder if the Family Channel would have altered it. It's just that I've noticed on other quiz shows shown on it's successor channel Challenge, that the 'for ITV' captions have been retained during the 1989 and onwards eras.

Correct, for some reason the Family channel did not show the celebrity episodes.
Wikipedia says they were filmed at the Maidstone studios from 1986.
Was it this series or the last series that Catchphrase was recorded at the TVS Theatre in Medway?
So episode 18 of series 3 was not repeated then?
Was saying Maxwell's Silver Hammer on the bonus
and did Cindy and Steven know their Beatles songs?
or their Venetian bridges?
No they don’t know their Beatles or bridges in Venice ☹️

'Whoever buzzes in with the right answer wins £155. Watch your screens...'
Shouldn't the TVS end caption be reading 'TVS Production for ITV' during this period of the show's era?
It would of when shown on ITV, these recordings were from the Family Channel and they changed it to the ones with out ITV.

I have watch it on Family Channel later Challenge Tv Series 4 Male was a Blue an Female was Red Series 5 was A Female was a Blue and Male was on a Red
I see what you mean, i guess the Family Channel showed them in the wrong order in 1993.
TVSproductions82 Steven should get the 150 pound bonus, after all, he said "Bridge of Sighs"
He didn't, he said bridge sighs.
Most probably they used a stupid excuse not to chow those episodes.
Opps this is Series 5 not series 4
Why have you commented on most of series 4 & 5 saying that this is the wrong series?
Most probably they used a stupid excuse not to show those episodes.
