This is a tie stall barn and not a parlor. Cows can do everything in here. Eat, drink, lay down, get killed. The things you are wondering about are kickers. Most of them don't kick but it prevents them from wanting to dance side to side while milking. Some that are old enough and have been around a long time don't need them.
Beautiful cows
I am so glad I came across your channel I love browns Swiss. I used to melt 55 of them. Now retired.
Thank you, in my opinion, best temperament breed of cattle.

Thanks, 110 cows, barn holds 70
Where is your farm, looks nice
Southeast MN
Thank you!
Why all the anti kick bars?
Safer for us, and the cow. Some don't need them, some do.
I liked your system without the pit, but I'm curious about the metal hook that holds the cow's behind...what is that?

Why do you use a kicker every cow
Starts as a two year old, they get used to it. Safer for them and us. A few cows don't need it, sorry I did not show any clips of the ones that don't.
Nice video !
Thanks!
