I remember watching this on a VHS tape called Back Among the Best: the story of the 1993 Giants. This was one of my favorite videos. Love Frank Gifford's voice for this. And the musicals score just made it that much better
@@missbombaclaudietv9011 not exactly George Young’s finest hour. Turned the keys over to Dave Brown (over Dan Reeves’ objections) and we all know how that turned out
I know the 1993 season was the last for both Phil Simms & Lawrence Taylor their veteran leadership plus Phil Simms as the starter who should be in the Hall of fame
Where was the number one defense against the 49ers? Maybe if their offensive playing was more aggressive at the end of the Dallas game, instead of playing for the tie field goal, they would have been home in the second round of the playoffs.
After seeing this I feel like a run heavy offense led by Rodney and a good line could have kept Simms around for a few more years. If LT also stayed with Strahan and Armstead and other youth, may have had a chance in 94 or 95. Dave Brown just was not the guy. I do not understand why they went suplimental draft rookie as future building. If Simms had to retire, they could have considered acquiring a long term vet similar to Simms until a true young QB to build around was available. A DeBerg type would have better for a few years.
I don't know why the Giants didn't make Jeff Hostetler the aire apparent to Phil Simms. He led them to a SB victory and did well with the Raiders. He was certainly better than Dave Brown and Kent Graham. I guess they didn't know that then. But still why draft Brown when the could have used Hostetler.

Rest in Peace Dan Reeves

And they cut Simms after this season. That was heart breaking.

Great running game and a dominant defense is always a recipe for success. Let’s hope the 2020 Giants can make a run!
When did fassel take over ?
Whoops lol
Grew up with Armstead, Hamilton, Sparks & Strahan!!! This club setup the late 90’s team I loved.
Wasnt tommy maddux on the giants the one Reeves had drafted and made john elway mad with and then came back with the steelers
Idc about the Danny janell years , I wanna see every yearbook , these are good
@@ericsigersmith6067 yeah he was added later on (1995 I believe). Reeves was never a fan of Dave Brown so he brought in Maddox to back him up.
Old school nfl films is always nostalgic lol
If Marv Levy is in the HOF, so should Dan Reeves.
Yeah
AGREED
The 1993 giants great year that was i remmber
It turns out to be Simms and Taylor's final season.

Always liked Rod Do!

Phil’s final season, and he had some gas left in the tank. LT’s final season, and he did not have gas left in the tank.
Strahan’s rookie season.
I think LT was coming off the achilles injury?
Mark Jackson cost them the division with that dropped touchdown against Dallas
0 dislikes baby. 😎
It's a travesty that Simms isn't in the HOF
Hostetler
Dan Reeves arrived two years too late. If he was the HC in ‘91 instead of Ray Handley things would’ve turned out much differently
Ya weird era
1
Simms was terrible the last 2 games of the regular season all the Giants needed was 1 win sigh
