Caddyshack, Glory Road, The Rookie, Cinderella Man, Raging Bull, Searching for Bobby Fisher, Rocky 1-3, Cool Runnings, Tin Cup, Slap Shot. Sports movies are great. I could go on. My mom loved Hoosiers. My dad loved The Natural and Eight Men Out. You almost need to narrow it by sport, or serious vs comedic. Geeze, I forgot Bull Durham AND Major League. F you Jobu. I do it myself!
A Skins fan since 1972, I've always wanted to see the Lions win a Superbowl. My favorite team is at least 3-2 in Superbowls, Detroit hasn't been to the big dance yet, it's your time, so hope you win it this year and the Commanders the next. Washington is getting back to building the organization and foundation like the Jack Kent Cook Gibbs/Betherd heyday.
Perfect channel for me. I’m about an hour south of Det, and a Lions v Skins game in the early 80s made me a lifetime Skins fan when I won a nickel of my Grandpa cause I bet him in this game by taking the team his Lions were playing.
I am a Redskins fan since the mid 1970's. That said, I would be totally geeked out if Detroit can win a Super Bowl. I hope it happens for you guys this year.
Lifelong Redskins fan too and Barry Sanders is my all time favorite running back. I always felt so bad for him and for Lions fans. It would be awesome if Dan Campbell brought them a Ring
As a longtime redskin fan I really appreciate your opinions and information. As for movies, if you consider golf a sport. I really enjoyed Bagger Vance. The movie Kevin Costner played an aging pitcher I think called for the love of the game is really good. I had no interest in either but circumstances led me to watch both. Now I can’t pass either up. As usual you are right on relative to football. The Lions are now a team I root for. I was a fan of Stratford and always felt he deserved to be on a better team and I’m happy he got his Super Bowl! But I’m so impressed with how the fans embrace Goff. I believe that is a major factor in his resurgence. When these young men are judged so harshly and bombarded with constant criticism by fans on sports talk shows and social media, it can’t help them adjust imho. I think that’s why we see folks like Sam with the Vikings, Baker with the Buccaneers etc… I hope Sam Howell is in a good situation with the Seahawks. With the right team he will be damn good QB barring injuries. No way am I 2nd guessing the new group in town. They have been hitting on all cylinders! But I was and am a big fan of Sam Howell and I hope to include him in 1 of those resurrection stories some day. Good luck (not that your team needs it much) on the season and aside from the Commaners (long shot at best) I will be rooting for the Lions to get in the big game. If they do I’m betting and rooting for them, unless it’s against KC. I be hard pressed to bet or root against Andy Reid.
4:43 As as Washington fan since the mid 80's I appreciate your video and support. I'm excited to see what both of our teams are doing well. Redskins 4life and go Loins!
Thanks for the Intel Lions Guy! Much appeciated from "Skins" fan -- I was confident of beating the Bears before JDaniels got hurt,,, and still think the lions maybe the NFC Super Bowl Team this year. Hutchinson out hurts (what a machine) but it wont be SF this year, and id LOVE to see the Lions take out the Eagles, your division is like the NFC East in the 80s and 90s now... Best of luck Lions
Thing with Mariota is he finally has a fairly good offense. He's got WRs who can get open and he knows how to throw them open. He also has a decent line and strong running game. Give those things to a mobile QB and it changes his whole outlook
As a Skins fan, thank you. It is pretty cool that both franchises are doing better, yall are nasty. Havent seen many lions games always enjoyed watching chris speilman play for you and of course sanders and herman moore. Never really got to watch any of your games during the stafford megatron era.
a few years ago, I watched the Lions Play the Commanders and I knew at that moment that Detroit had turned their whole culture around and that they would contend shortly. So being an OLD Redskin/Commander fan (I remember seeing the "Paper Lion" in the movie theaters I'm so old), it is truly refreshing to see these two Storied Programs starting to be dominate once again. God Knows You Lion Fans really deserve to experience winning football and what that can do to a Citys Energy!!!!!
Long long time Redskins fan here too. I will echo what several of my Brothers have said here.... would lvoe to see you guys in the Super Bowl! I would be rooting hard for the Lions. I have liked a lot of your former players. Chuck Long. Barry Sanders. Loved Herman Moore and Rodney Pete. And some others. You guys are looking good, and it's good to see !
Jordan Magee was a 5th rd pick. Jamin was a 1st rd pick… they’re the same freak athlete, just another example of top tier drafting by Rivera and his idiot crew.
You’ve hit the nail on the head with something I’ve advocated for, for years. You must hit on 4th and 5th rounders and get your blue chip foundational players there.
Man, as a Washington fan I'm always rooting for Detroit on Sundays unless they're lined up across from us. My best friends are Detroit natives and die hard Detroit sports junkies so we watch a lot of Detroit/Washington/Baltimore sports together. Super exciting times for both the Commanders and Lions franchises right now.
This Commanders team is different. I truly believe our coaches are doing a great job of preparing these guys. They are understanding how a team can be very good when they play together. Kinda takes me back to how it was during Joe Gibbs years as head coach. I believe this is a all-star coaching staff in Washington and this team is young. GET READY FOR SOME REAL FOOTBALL YALL. THE COMMANDERS ARE TAKING CHARGE. HAIL YEA !!!°
Im 62 years old. I've been a Redskins Washington Football Team Commanders fan for 55 years. I am very excited and proud that my team is playing this way. 🙌 I also appreciate what the Lions are doing becoming 1 of the best teams in the NFL. Appreciate you sir.
Our new front office is on fire early in the process. Think every draft pick graded well and all were captains for their teams the previous season. Not a guarantee by any stretch but hard to argue with the results thus far. Feels good.
Kinda similar profile to Deion Jones when Quinn was in Atlanta. Obviously not as fast and not as premiere of a player but same type of guy. Quinn likes those fast pass cover type linebackers he can develop.
BTW, the Commanders new front office, drafted only "Team Captains" from their college teams. That I believe is the recipe of drafting quality players. Team Captains are generally voted to captainship by their fellow players; thus they already have shown leadership qualities!!!!
Washingtons full 2024 draft class will be on the 53 roster this Sunday. Dominique Hampton is the only one without a snap yet. 1 (2): QB Jayden Daniels, LSU 2 (36): DI Jer’Zhan Newton, Illinois 2 (50): CB Mike Sainristil, Michigan 2 (53): TE Ben Sinnott, Kansas State 3 (67): OT Brandon Coleman, TCU 3 (100): WR Luke McCaffrey, Rice 5 (139): LB Jordan Magee, Temple 5 (161): S Dominique Hampton, Washington 7 (222): EDGE Javontae Jean-Baptiste, Notre Dame
Talent acquisition can not be emphasized enough. Look at the Patriots dynasty. They somehow drafted and found guys that became long time starters. They didn't have to buy all the other team's players.
I hope the lions take it all this year unless Washington is in the nfc championship, then I obviously hope it’s the commanders as a fan. But I see us being able to truly contend for a superbowl after an off season of successful additions to defense of a couple corners, another wide receiver, the lions are COMPLETE.
Chicago doesent respect my team the Commanders and all ive been hearing from there Podcast shows is how easy there going to beat the Commanders. Lets see on Sunday but the Commanders will surprise chicago.
The Redskins/ Commanders has been one of the most storied franchises in the NFL …We’ve won 3 Super Bowls ….then we got the WORST owner to ever own a sports franchise. He turned it into the laughing stock of the NFL..Now that he’s gone finally, they are right back on track again!
You cant judge a QB "or any NFL player" by one game, especially one against one of the worst teams in the NFL. This week is the test as the Chicago Bears so far are no slouch team. If Marcus plays "which I hope he does as I think Jayden needs at least another week to rest" then that will be the real test if he is a good back-up QB or not. After this weeks game comes the other real test of the Commanders team with Steelers, Eagles and Cowboys and hopefully Jayden is back and playing like he was at the beginning of the season.
Commanders fan and I think the Lions Defense would win out since they have a high scoring offense like us. If we get some pieces on the defense before the trade deadline, I think it would be more competitive.
Mariota was Joe Montana for a week. He is 30 and has started the equivalent of 5 seasons so he is very experienced. He still is very athletic and can run. I would not fear having him at the helm. He seemed to fit right into Daniel's game plan and found many receivers to throw to.
Washington 1st round picks not with team: Chase Daniel; Dwayne Haskins, Montez Sweat, Jamin Davis, no longer on team. Last year’s 1st rounder, Emanuel Forbes, last years 1st, has been a healthy scratch for 3 of 7 weeks. Rivera regime is a drafting flop.😢
Jamin Davis sort of lost us when he started talking about himself in the third person last year. You need to play "Jamin Davis football"? But aren't YOU Jamin Davis? It was just goofy. 75% of Rivera's #1 picks are already gone, and the fourth one is hanging by his fingernails. Got a pick last time, though, so is probably safe for another week. Anyway, unless you meet the Redskins I'm definitely a Lions fan for the Super Bowl this year.
The elite franchises have ALWAYS had an elite QB!! WAS had RG3 and Cousins but somehow we let Cousins get away (and Trent Wms). It's no wonder WAS has been sucking for 20 years, esp. since they never drafted well and had mostly FA busts!!! Bottom line is our talent evaluators really sucked ass!!! Also we are FINALLY developing culture!
The Commanders are bum organization, they had an opportunity to bring in one of the most successful defensive minds in the NFL, they have their franchise QB, plenty of weapons for him, next step get a decent defense going mesh everything together
Caddyshack, Glory Road, The Rookie, Cinderella Man, Raging Bull, Searching for Bobby Fisher, Rocky 1-3, Cool Runnings, Tin Cup, Slap Shot. Sports movies are great. I could go on.
Same here, I was really rooting for the Lions in the playoffs last season. Coach blew it.
Jack Pardee
Same man! Both squads have been bad for so long. An NFC Championship game with WSH vs DET would be great! HTTR!
Same, Redskins fan here and I’m also rooting for the Lions you guys deserve a ring

longtime redskins fan and we are similar with the Lions. I expect to see yall in the playoffs
As a Skins fan, thank you. It is pretty cool that both franchises are doing better, yall are nasty. Havent seen many lions games always enjoyed watching chris speilman play for you and of course sanders and herman moore. Never really got to watch any of your games during the stafford megatron era.

as a commander/Football team/Redskins fan i have always wanted the lions to contend i love the under dogs. congrats on your win against the vikings

I’m a Commander fan, but also root for the Lions.
You’ve hit the nail on the head with something I’ve advocated for, for years. You must hit on 4th and 5th rounders and get your blue chip foundational players there.
Exactly!! All the pro bowers on the Seahawks team were 3-5 round picks only top 10 pick was earl Thomas and beast mode was a free angent signee.

Preciate my guy not just for my team but to the other teams that get no love HTTC
We all as Redskins fans....we had to see Dan Snyder sell the team
Now that it's done...look at all the progress!!!!!!
This Commanders team is different. I truly believe our coaches are doing a great job of preparing these guys. They are understanding how a team can be very good when they play together. HAIL YEA !!!°
As a Commander fan GM Adam Peter's is Hitting on our mid round picks. The guy just spots talent.
The Replacements about the Redskins strike year is one of favorites
The Best of Times, Kurt Russell and Robin Williams... Fun flick
Im 62 years old. I've been a Redskins Washington Football Team Commanders fan for 55 years. I am very excited and proud that my team is playing this way. 🙌 I also appreciate what the Lions are doing becoming 1 of the best teams in the NFL. Appreciate you sir.
Haha I love it...60 years old and a forever Skins fan! HTTR brother!!
Our new front office is on fire early in the process. Think every draft pick graded well and all were captains for their teams the previous season. Not a guarantee by any stretch but hard to argue with the results thus far. Feels good.

I don't know hockey, but I really enjoyed Goon.
Little giants what a reference 🎉
I am surprised that AP did not find a way to get a couple extra picks for Davis
Guy stinks, who would give up a 7th rounder? Peters knows what he is doing. There is a reason he was cut and not put on the practice squad.
The movie, the comebacks!😂😂😂
Kinda similar profile to Deion Jones when Quinn was in Atlanta. Obviously not as fast and not as premiere of a player but same type of guy. Quinn likes those fast pass cover type linebackers he can develop.
Favorite sports movies…… One comedy, Caddyshack! And one more docudrama, Moneyball with Brad Pitt.
Friday night lights, commanders fan!
You need that BMS Thad Castle jersey
Bagger Vance!
BTW, the Commanders new front office, drafted only "Team Captains" from their college teams. That I believe is the recipe of drafting quality players. Team Captains are generally voted to captainship by their fellow players; thus they already have shown leadership qualities!!!!
Hooisers, Remember the Titans, Seabiscuit, Cinderella Man, Vision Quest, Rocky

North Dallas 40,and Remember the Titans.
The Replacements HTTR!
You have to checkout the movie "The Underdoggs" w/ Snoop.
If a coaching staff can not work with a 1st 2nd or 3rd round player then that staff is weak.
The blind side
Chicago doesent respect my team the Commanders and all ive been hearing from there Podcast shows is how easy there going to beat the Commanders. Lets see on Sunday but the Commanders will surprise chicago.
