I genuinely believe John Fury persuaded Tommy to pull out. Johns ego couldn't stand being mocked by Darren and he knew his usual hold-me-back routine would not intimidate him. Darren would have taken the piss during the whole build up and John took the easy way out by pulling Tommy.
Plus if John tried his normal routine of headbutting and shoving people and being a loudmouth, there was a pretty strong chance of him getting kneed in the head and going to sleep right in front of the camera.

It was relatively easy for him to intimidate RUclipsrs but Darren would kill John in a street fight and they both knew it.

Masvidal was having an incredible year when he beat Darren. The only real disappointment was Brunson but even he was on a streak at the time. The UFC rushed Darren and it destroyed his confidence but make no mistake, Darren Till is still a dangerous fighter and a master technician of muay thai who would absolutely destroy John and Tommy in a 2 on 1 street fight. I believe the best route for his career would be to try his hand in the PFL and potentially rebuild that confidence. 18-5 is still a very respectable record in MMA.
