I popped myself at one point when the bike tipped away from you! So glad it worked out in the end. Tobe fair you did well walking up there made uo with covid. Was up there in August with my good lady, did around 6.5miles walking around so i know you put a couple of miles in, not easy in motorbike gear mate. 🫡 Thank for sharing Sir 👍🏻
Not fun and really thought it was going on the floor with me under it. Yeh, didn't really expect a walk when I was feeling that rough. Great place and glad I was it, by luck. Cheers
You weren't the only one 🤣Thought I was going to have a fat Triumph lying on top of me until somebody came along and dragged me out. Mostly back to normal now, thank. Well as normal as I get. 😂
Rivvy Barn - regular Bikers meet at the weekend - nice cafe at The Lower Barn - i know how heavy the Rocket GT is, - i forgot to put my side stand down once up in The Lakes, and once it goes past the degree angle, there was no holding it, fortunately i had my panniers on that day (like you i like the look of the bike without the panniers - they spoil the great looks) however my inner left leg was left with a huge bruising as the Rocket slowly lowered itself to the ground, the pannier kept the handle bars off the pavement - no damage to the bike, just my pride !! - Think you made the wrong choice following the satnav ! Watch out for the autumn leaves - they can be scary on the Rocket!
It went just past that angle and the full weight was realised ! So close to it going down. I can't image that its particularly comfortable with one of those have a lie down on your leg. Just come back from the Pennines with leaves galore and yes very careful. Thanks buddy.
Fair play mate, the Rocket GT storm is 320kg wet weight, according to Triumph website, without any extras on… my 2019 3R was 309kgs and felt every bit, picking those big buggers up and moving stationary not easy as weight carries quite high and sharp fork rake so they like to fold in on lock. Plus the fat tyres love to get stuck and weight just sinks in… Dropped mine once. I found trick is to pull from other side so you have the side stand down on other side (*though useless if muddy) then pull and grab front brake. Brake stops it rocking back, then easier next time you go to pull back… but it’s a workout 💪… I admit I ride a XSR700xt for mud and gravel exploring on TKC70 rocks, sold my 3R as the weight was hard to live with on a daily… wee 170kg scrambler much easier 😮💨 get well soon fella
Great, heavier than I thought 😂 and feels it. Yeh they are a big of a bugger to move around but thats the first time I've been stuck. Sure it won't be the last. Thanks for the tip.
I kept shouting at the screen " dig the mound up with a stick from behind the front wheel Scott!!" Get well soon pal, if its any condolence I feel the same - joints aching all over! 👍🏍🏍👍
It's mad, I watched it back when I just posted and thought 'why didn't I just dig behind the front wheel'. Head was not working very well that day. Or my body for that matter. It's no fun is it. Hope you're feeling better soon pal.
@@1guyaharleyandadrone657 Went to start my Deluxe up yesterday but the battery has gone- just ordered one. Its been neglected, parked up for the last two months as I have a new toy- Brand new Africa Twin ES DTC so I went across to Squires Cafe then up to Helmsley yesterday in the North Yorkshire Moors- Wonderful! 👍🏍🏍👍
@@howardhayes4502 First time I've had that bike past 'that point'. Not a great feeling. The Harley has only past 'that point' a couple of times and down she went.
I was wondering what happened to you. I thought the black eyed woman found you but it was just COVID. Feel better soon. And I like the different motorcycle gatherings there. They aren't dominated by Harleys, many other brands to see.
Great place and loads of old British bikes, nice to see. Pity it's a little far for a quick coffee. Yep the Covid got me in a big way. NOT fun. Cheers.
now that was a close one scott, never mind at the best of times a 290kg bike must be hard to hold up, and you have depleted energy feel like shit and to top it off mud to contend with, fair play for getting it out , i would be on the main road flagging down someone to help ,
I was having a glance around for any nice helpful people. But nobody at that time. 290kg felt even heavier at that point. Bloody sat nav. I'll blame that 🤣
Morning Scott sorry not messaged you I’ve not missed a video of yours with the rocket but been watching your vids on my tv and it a faff to message on tv with the controls so I’m doing this on my phone firstly I’m sorry to hear you have covid hopefully won’t last long lots of it about apparently right I thought in the las video you was gonna drop it in the mud I take it the front wheel had just gone off the edge of the concrete it’s a pity they not got reverse gear but in your situation inspect the concrete was greasy with mud anyway so wouldn’t got grip anyway and they are heavy buggers if they start to go I hope you get well soon Scott and ride safe I’m still loving my rocket too take care mate
Yeh it dropped from concrete to mud. First time I've got it stuck but probably won't be the last 😂They are a lot of engine to be pushing around especially when your feet are on mud as well. Thought it was going to be lying on top of me at one point. Mostly better now thanks, just cold like now. Thanks very much.
Just watched your struggles freeing the beast from the mud. Not good, glad you didn't drop it. For your information Liverpool Castle is not a real Castle but a Victorian Folly built by Lord Leverhulme (Lever brothers) in the early 1900's. He owned all the land including the terraced gardens where he had a large bungalow. United Utilities now own all the land.
Now that some info !!! Christ. Either you've been doing some serious Googling or for some reason you know more than most about Liverpool Castle 🤣 Glad I didn't go now. Cheers 👍
@1guyaharleyandadrone657 . Yep you didn't miss much. There's some nice roads around the area and it'd only around 15 miles from me. Used to be a regular stopping off place on way home from Sunday ride outs
I'm not entirely sure you're talking about bikes here ? 🤣 Thats a good method as long as the ground is firm enough to get good grip with your feet. I was on mud. Didnt drop it and I'm not still there so all is good 😆
...and that Sir, is why I bought a Rebel 500 🤣 Glad you escaped unscathed!
A lot to be said for that 🤣Thanks

My biggest Nemesis is pea-gravel!!!... especially the stuff in parking lots!
No fun either, bikes just don't move on the bloody stuff and if they do they move the wrong way 🤣

In case you were unsure..thats the triumph rocket you own, not the explorer..😆😆

Regular bike meets every Sunday for as long as I can remember
