Not to bad a noise, it’s a decent 6cyl rumble rather than diesel clatter, mines the same engine and I quite like the sound, especially when it’s warm and the viscous fan kicks in, sounds beefy then.

I do think you were being overly critical. It's an 18 year old

I really sat on the fence with it, in so many respects, it is such a nice car. I reckon you're spot on at 19 tonnes though, damn it's heavy to get moving but stops really well. They make you feel very special too, not sure what else you can get for that money that will feel the same.

Just watched some of your videos, if that's you singing; you have some real talent there! Excellent stuff.

You should try the P38 with the 6 pot 2.5TD BMW engine in then if you think this one’s bad 😂

Ironically I had the 3.0TD in a couple of 5 series but I also had an E34 525TDS with that same 6 pot from the P38. Again, wasn't bad in the BMW but I bet it would be a shock in a P38. I still love the P38 looks though, never had one... yet.

You were deffo expecting too much for a two and a half grand range rover mate. I have one of these on an 05 plate and just spent exactly that amount on a suspension rebuild!

I think you're right. The only thing that stopped me buying it was the noise really, having had a couple of those engines in E39s in the past I expected it to be a lot quieter. Of course, they weren't moving that amount of weight.
