I believe Jane is correct. Goth wasn't thing until the late 70's to early eighties. Going any further back in time and I don't think you will encounter any of the subculture. Goth really seemed to make it's presence in the early to mid eighties from what I have researched. Either way, lovely tutorial.🦇💀🕸️

@@epictetushasepictiddiez2615 woahwoah goths were totally a thing in the 70s! mid to late 70s was just start of the transitional period from punk to goth, but if you look at music and style from 77-79 you start seeing more of a goth style than punk like siouxsie, bauhaus, etc. :P
So, everytime that I watch a make-up tutorials, they start with the eyes and then move on to the face. I thought there was something wrong with me because I just have been doing the opposite for 25 years. You just reassured me that I am not crazy.
Why not?? Eyes are the best part xD
The reason being is if you mess up the eyes you won't have to mess up the rest of the face especially if you get fall out from the eyeshadow or accidentally smudge anywhere else so it's easier to start over
Even some professional makeup artists start with their base makeup first. I also do this. Tbh there is no right or wrong way to do makeup as long as you're happy and confident in what you're wearing.

In the 70s people did wear false lashes. I saw a pic of diana ross with lashes that are somewhat similar to yours. Not too far off. Maybe not as fluffy but around the same.

Lovely! This series is very interesting so far. Even if you're not copying the techniques it's neat to see the developments between decades. Plus cosmetics have developed significantly and there are so many products that make certain effects a lot simpler to execute than in the decades these looks developed in.
Have you thought of looking into those older methods or do you want to keep your makeup more modern/inspiration focused?

Sorry if this is a weird question but does anyone have any recommended makeup wipes? I've recently gotten into trad goth makeup and it takes me so long to take it off, plus it is sometimes painful
I use something called "Makeup Eraser" it's a reusable makeup wipe thingy and it works really well for me!
