  • Here are your best stories of Greek Mythology. Few people today have not heard of some element of Greek mythology, whether it be the Trojan War which lasted ten years, the famous Trojan Horse which finally won the war for the Greeks through deception, the tales of Oedipus, the tragic King of Thebes, or Heracles, the great warrior demi-god. So central are these myths to western society that certain words which we use today are derived directly from them. A kind of computer virus is referred to as a Trojan Horse. Narcissism is a term for excessive self-regard based on the story of Narcissus in Greek myth, a hunter who was known for his looks and who became so transfixed by his own reflection in a lake that he spent the rest of his life looking at it. There are many other modern references to Greek myth, a system of stories and fables which the Greeks used to understand the period between when the gods had first emerged and their own time, an era of which they had a loose historical knowledge and onto which they transplanted an array of beliefs and rather fantastical stories.

What about the theogony which tells us not only of the gods genealogy of the gods but also gives us the story of how Zeus rose to become the kings of the gods. Also there is cave in Crete called the Diktaean Cave and was said by Hesiod to be the place where Rhea the mother of Zeus gave birth to him/where he was raised . And am glad you brought up Atlantis because to this day you still have people who actually believe that it was real or that the government is hiding it, and they come up with some insane explanations as to how it fell, why and where it was located and what it was like. Yet when you go to the source you find that these pseudo historians don't know anything about what Plato was actually trying to say, they just use imaginative thinking's/adhoc rationalizations to give the apperance of real potential history eg. They claim when the younger dryas happened it destroyed Atlantis and that explained the flood that wiped them out and don't even get me started on the chariots of the gods crowd and their foolishness. Oh and fun fact it was actually a civil war era politician by the name of Ignatius L. Donnelly who is considered the father of pseudo history who was the one to fist popularize Atlantis being real.

Hi Brandon and thanks for always being here :) regarding the genealogy of the Gods, I have a separate video on Greek Religion. As for the rest, both history and religion are like this, open to the subjectivity of the person writing. This is why we need to consider several sources before concluding.

I know but one question though , do you think it's possible to use modern computer analysis with the aid of AI to decode the Indus valley civilizations script ?.

That’s a good question, but I’m not sure. Probably we will be able to make some progress, but AI works by being fed with info. We need the relevant information for this and we can only make interpretations, not tell that results are 100% accurate.

Well at least we have another tool to help in the attempt to decode this puzzling civilization. But I do believe we will one day decipher this script similarly like what happened to the Egyptian , Sumerian and Mayan scripts.

Wow, I was watching the video and half way through I saw you only had 600 subs and 100 views. I was in shock man, such a well structured video, professionally narrated, I would've guessed you were one of those big history youtube channels with a few million subs.
Trust me I watch these types of videos and podcasts all the time, you have what it takes to succeed, the voice that's easy on the ears, cool ideas and comments, I really hope the algorithm picks you up and gives you what you deserve.
Looking forward to listening to your whole channel tomorrow at work!

Your comment just made my entire week! Thank you so much! I’m making these documentaries for myself first, out of curiosity. It is a great feeling to see that they resonate the same way with others too.
