The company's argument is that the network belongs to them so they should get to operate the network the way they see fit. That's usually a feature that wireless internet providers have. Wireless internet plans that come with your cellphone subscription usually have low bandwidth caps. Keeping resolutions to 1080p or less is actually an effort to keep you from hitting your monthly cap too quickly.

If it’s the same rules as before, I believe that is correct. However I could see exceptions made specifically for video as it’s the heaviest traffic on networks, specifically a big deal for wireless as it can only carry so much data, I could also see the providers implementing hard data caps again, likely on easily congested data such as LTE & low band 5G (when it only says “5G”), I could see unlimited data staying on 5G UW (aka 5G+ on other carriers & 5G UC on T-Mobile) because there is so much capacity that it can handle lots of traffic & it’s so fast that you can burn through data limits very quickly and easily.
Long story short, I wouldn’t expect video throttling to go away but I could see it going away depending on the rules.

@@ajandruzzi "Wireless or Fiber?" LMAO Fiber has NEVER limited video streaming. And you are COMPLETELY misinformed. You still have to be on a qualified wireless plan to stream HD/4K. And those are the only plans that you can disable the video streaming limit.

ALL companies slow down your connection once you go over a specific limit.
It's most noticeable with mobile phone stuff.
Take version for instance. Once you go over like 20 gb theh will significantly slow you down.
The issue is these providers are allowed to do this. And there's basically nothing stopping them.
They also but it in their tos so they can get away with it.
A law stopping them from doing it so uhhh yk you have proper freedom online is nice in a country that prides itself on freedom!

Regulations are Protections from those who would make you pay for what you CAN get for free.
The Corporations will be FINE without the extra profit.
I'd like to see the internet Nationalized along with RUclips, Twitter, and Fakebook.

I wish! Unfortunately not though. This doesn’t do anything with exclusivity agreements. (It really should eliminate them though!) From the sounds of it, that fiber line on your property could be for a different customer & likely isn’t residential service. This would be considered dedicated fiber and usually is only run for businesses & is pretty expensive ranging from $1,000/mo to $5,000+/mo.
Typically if it is residential fiber it would be available to you unless your property association has an exclusivity agreement with one provider or there aren’t any available lines to connect you.
