For those that missed the livestream head over to the following link. There is a lot of good information on this coating. From how long it lasts in the bottle to how long the coating actually lasts. There is some confusion on the product and that is understandable. ruclips.net/user/livedjE4rHmOphU?si=vTA6yXq9yN5lwcEt Just some bullet points from the livestream. The coating will not go bad after 3 months. Stored properly it can last longer. Same goes for any coating. It will just become a bit harder to apply just like this 2 year old CanCoat bottle of even 6-8 month old Cquartz Lite after they have been opened. Also coatings that are old after they are opened will have a drop in performance. There is no way to determine what the drop off rate is for old coatings. In the livestream it was also touched on this coating being a 3 year coating when applied with an applicator and 2 years applied by a towel. This type of durability claim already exceeds most spray coatings. If it is anything like their Quartz coating then this will be easily reached. It was mentioned that Phobic could actually be rated as a 5 year coating. Phobic can also be used on the windshield and do relatively well considering it is not a true glass coating.
awesome review/demo 👍🏽. i’m a huge fan of adams advanced graphene spray coating usually about $43.00 for 12oz and it’s my detailers ketchup i put it on everything. phobic looks promising but they updated the info to “lasts 3 months on the shelf once the bottle is opened” so having to use it within 3 months is a negative for me, but definitely wanna try it for sure. ✌🏽🐿️💨
Keep in mind this is ideal rates. Similar to how Mike used a year+ old cancoat. It will still work fine, it may just not apply exactly the same of last as long as when it was first cracked open. Hope this helps ease your mind a bit!
@@armourdetailsupply thank you for that info 🙏🏽 yeah i keep my chems in a controlled environment in the house, basically a pantry. like the rest of the house it is a/c and heated throughout the year, so it should last quite a while like my other chems ✌🏽🐿️💨
@@FrankoDetails Adams is nice but it’s not that strong of a performer. Can’t hold a candle to Phobic or even CanCoat. Keep Phobic sealed in a cold place and it will last longer than the what is stated.
@@FrankoDetails enjoy it. Bradley is right that I assumed the cost per milliliter as being ideal, For sure you will get more applications out od Adams. I'm a fan of spray sealants because of how easy they are to work with. Now... spray sealant that's user friendly like this seems like it's going to be a killer product. Nice showcase Mike.
I can definitely vouch for can coat. I have two customer cars that I maintenance wash over the past two years a Mercedes and a BMW. They travel a lot and their cars stay under a carport to this day past two years it’s still beading! i’m anxious to try this new product. Ceramic coatings that boast three or more years of protection don’t do it for me. Most people are not gonna keep their cars that long.
Jetting and slickness are cool but they don't ever seem to last very long for me. It would be an interesting test to how those characteristics hold up over time.
Mike thanks for the review. I use the Adams Advanced Spray Coating on my wife's car. It was coated, with Adams Advanced Coating 3 years ago. I use the spray as a topper in the fall and again in the spring. We experience some cold, snowy, slushy roads here in the Midwest, with salty roads. Apparently ADS makes good products, however as you stated, the price seems to be a negative?
@@hartlanddetailer5670 that is a great way to maintain the Adams coating. That is what they recommend to do yearly by applying their spray coating to extend the life of the coating. It is also very user friendly. Check out the Jade Jett spray coating as its notch above Adams. Both made by B&B and the same chemist. Jade is more durable. And to answer your question ADS makes great products. Definitely check them out at some point.
Great test and review, as always. It hasn't made it to Australia yet from what I can see, but I can wait. Incidentally, one of the ads YT put in the middle was for Armor All, I think they got confused.
Mike, GREAT video! You mentioned its a high solids coating, is Gyeon Q2 Pure EVO also a high solids coating🤔
@MikeGDetailing really, an upstart blows away Pure EVO? How so Mike? Not knowing if Autogeek is getting maintenence done or tye forum is over, there's few people I trust, your one of them😉
@@klasseact6663 ADS did their homework and their coatings are top performers. Gyeon’s best coating besides CanCoat is Mohs Evo. Puré is middle of the pack that doesn’t stand out.

It is certainly safe for PPF. Works beautifully on PPF. XPEL's warranty is very stringent so just be careful there. Your warranty is void with XPEL if you coat with any other product than their own for what its worth.
@@Thai.H it close to 3 years old. I have not used it since I was sent this bottle. I won’t be buying another title of CanCoat anytime soon. The bottle of Phobic is fresh. It’s only a couple weeks old. I was sent this bottle before it was released to the public.
Ads looks nice but it is expensive. The original cancoat is marginally more durable than Evo in my experience especially noticeable when both are applied side by side on the bonnet. Evo is slightly more hydrophobic but by 2 or 3%. I think when thay brought out the Evo version they increased the hydrophobics and reduced the longevity of the product compared with the OG cancoat. Ads needs to try and work on the price a bit more, and it'll be a winner.
@@79blustone I think the price is justified. Especially after the livestream and this being compared to having the performance the likes of a 5 year coating.
That price is a huge turn off. As a diy'er, I would rather spend the same or an extra $10 on a full blown ceramic vial. But I'm still on the fence from upgrading from spray sealants
