Another awesome video man! It’s interesting to see just how these Radeon 9250s are viewed today. I had/have a PCI 128MB model and, while it’s a dog, it’s not absolutely terrible. I agree with your thoughts on this card. It’s almost like this card was a generation behind-that Doom 3 performance at 800x600 is pretty rough. Far Cry surprised me though. It looks solid and seems to play pretty well! Mafia looked awesome and it’s just one of those classic games that transcends time as far as how well-made and playable it is! The AquaMark score is ROUGH, but I suspect the limited memory bus bandwidth played a roll there. Either way, this was super interesting and, as always, really informative and expertly put together and, not to mention, a pleasure to watch! Thanks again for sharing this and for all your hard work buddy! It really shows in all you make!
I was hopeful that this would perform a bit closer to the Radeon 9600 pro, seems like the jump from one model to the other on this generation was leaps! It's still a useful card, not a total waste of a red PCB, Haha! Thanks for your continuous support, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Have a great weekend, my friend.
@@SUCRALMAO IT IS an absolute waste of space. My first PC when I was 11 back in 2005 had this GPU. It couldn't even run NFS Pro Street which was a PS2 Game. That PC got outdated really fast one way or another so who cares...
Radeon 9250 was the first card i was able to play half life 2 for the first time and the first experience. Also i play doom3 for the first time on it. Really nice memories.
I had a similar card on my Athlon XP 2800+ (Barton if I remember correctly) and under XP I ran GTA-SA, URU, Mafia and Far Cry. I am not sure about the real model or maker of the card, I only remember that it was called "Radeon 9250 Family", it was big like yours (not SFF) and it showed as two video cards in Device Manager. Also, each card had 256M or VRAM (I used to laugh that my system have the same amount of memory as my video card; at the time I ran XP with 512M, later I upgraded). However, It was a good card, I used to connect it to my big TV (S-Video) and watched movies and shows downloaded from internet.

@@SUCRA it might need more than that, for starting I need to know if there is even a compatible bios for my particular gpu, then I have to move resistors on the board to make it work with the Mac bios then i also need to mask off some pins from the agp connector, as a more painless upgrade alternative I did also flash a GeForce fx 5500 for Mac but it doesn’t have working dvi with the Mac firmware, I should try to get a GeForce fx 6200 from xfx to have maybe the best cheap upgrade, but prices are not that great for them
I'm surprised that the 128bit 9250 was even a thing - I'd only ever seen the 64bit versions. It seems pointless next to the 9200 as the only difference is its 10MHz lower core clock.

Yeah good point, there is console optimization and the fact that this is higher resolution than the PS2 outputs.
