Audi A6 2019 - Is the new executive saloon worth the upgrade?

- This MK5 model Audi A6 trims up and sets about its rivals with a package that's based on a efficiency, technology and, yes, a bit more power. It'll have its work cut out dislodging BMW and Mercedes but it's hard not to love the care and attention that's clearly been lavished on this car.
'A first class journey with a business class ticket': that's how Audi describes the travelling experience you'll get in this fifth generation A6 model. Basically, what the Ingolstadt brand has done here is to democratise much of the technology of its larger A8 and enveloped it into smartly proportioned new bodywork.
There's certainly lots to admire here, with advanced mild hybrid drivetrains, sharper yet more comfortable suspension options, sublime cabin comfort and a high-tech all-digital MMI touch response interface. But then then exceptional technology will be needed if his Audi is to be able to face down rivals of the quality of BMW's 5 Series and the Mercedes E-Class.

Too bad he has the poorest A6 C8 to make the best review I’ve seen so far from this car. With such comprehensive review, he should have chosen either the most loaded 55 TFSI or 50 TDI..

The proverbial PhD level advanced Car features presentation, wow. The clearest explanation of 2019 Audi A6 options available, better than any that I have received from any Audi salesman in Canada, where we are limited to the 3.0 V6 engine and Progressiv and Technic versions.The newer model feels a little less sporty and has a quieter and more controlled ride than a 2018 Audi A6 which I also own, overall a great cars improved...

Great review! In the US, the adaptive suspension is only available in Prestige trim. I wonder how the sport suspension would do with standard springs. OMG how can you speak for 1 hour without any verbal mistakes!

What a detailed in-depth review. I got a C8 40Tdi S-Line Avant in December and love it. Had 2 C7 2.0Tdi saloons beforehand. Yes not as good MPG for the new model, but I'm still running in so will hopefully loosen up. Far more refined and dynamic than the C7 though and I love the new MMI touch system.

I am looking to order one of these in the estate version but can't decide what would be best for me. This car has so much potential but there are a few things that limit it. Lack of some standard features are surprising (memory seats), front wheel drive at this price should absolutely not be the case, and going back to options, you really have to spec it up to make it nice. That extra cost doesn't need to be spent on it's competitors
Besides the different engine types (US only comes with V6 3.0T 55TSFI), Garage and Parking Pilot, Android Auto, what other options are missing in the US version that was stated in this video?
Is the Quattro on the new A6 permanent all wheel drive or is it on demand Quattro?
Over here in the US the A6 in my garage is considered mid-sized, the A8 is full sized. To me any Audi that is not Quattro is not an Audi! I would never consider FWD or diesel. The 3 liter supercharged 330 hp petrol is the only way to go!

: T. I’m pretty sure they call it a limo, because there is an L version. The older A8 was a beast back when it had the Lamborghini engine. I considered it but Italian engines aren’t known for reliably.

Is the Audi A6 similar to Skoda Superb,..it has very similar spec.
Same base frame design with both.

The superb shares a chassis with the A4 and Passat. This A6 is an all new chassis shared only with the A7
The Scoda is identical to the VW Passat on the cross platform. The A6 is based on the Audi's own longitudinal platform. Apart from the 2-liter base engine, there are hardly any similarities

Amazing review. Amazing detail. Just too many unnecessary and repeat words and quite a lot of repetition of focus area.droppable to 30mins and it's awesome. No chance of missing anything though.
But.never ever refer to those fake chrome rear atrocities as "rear tailpipes etc.
They're not tail pipes. There is no pipage going on.
They're not exhausts. Nothing is being exhausted out from them.
They are crap decoration. I'm surprised buyers don't cut the plastic out with a jigsaw.
I wanted to see the s6 featuring real exhaust tips!!!!
And one more thing is about Audi 7speed transmission which they put on 2012 A6 , Mechatronic broke on many many Thousand cars .
AUDI did not take care of their costumers , I have for many years transmission problem and audi refusing to fix it .

this generation of tech advances the thought that THIS car is NOT yours! You are just to shut up, pay for it and let it tell you what the CAR thinks - turning the car on and off, "coasting" and kindly "offering" to drive your car without your input....Brave New World! And don't even think of DIY - just take it to the dealership/technicians and PAY again!

Audis have the worst offset pedals of all the German car makers. So uncomfortable even with an auto.
My 2017 Audi A6 has proper exhausts and buttons on the console for all important functions. The new A6 has none of that. Worthy upgrade? I think not.

I'll never spend that kind of money on something that has plastic closed fake exhausts that looks like something out of a toy car.
Also not a fan of the dual screen console with no buttons.
