which ones do you recommend more? these headsets or astro a 10 gen 2? I found them at Walmart for the same price and I would like to know which one is more worth it
Is the mute button up or down ? Also for the wireless version I don’t ever see them in stores anymore all I see is the wired one. Me personally I like the wired ones better vs wireless. Granted I haven’t opened my wireless ones up yet I just use my wired ones.
This headset is $74 in Canada and I managed to to grab it for $48. You'll have to pause some games and adjust the sound in game menus, but other than that the headset is great🤟.
I have the headset but the problem is that the mic is so low despite all of my settings being max, is there any way to fix this or any settings to change?
I have this headset, and you're right with the sound. I have a elite 2 and play on series S, and the sound for my games is fine, but if I use them on my PC to listen to reg vids or music... not great. I have also noticed that if I use a different controller the sound is pretty bad too. idk what makes the difference with the elite 2.
on PC I would assume you can just tweak the EQ on what I would assume is Realtek in their software.. 99% PCs use realtek and depending the chip you can get some great sound out of them if you tweak the eq in the software.. if you have a Asus motherboard their front end is great
Not bothered about lack of EQ settings because all games I play support Atmos. Will probably pick this over wireless - one less thing to charge and won't die on me if I go a few months without gaming.
I have this one. It is very underwhelming……until you use it with Dolby or DTS X spatial audio. It’s a complete beast afterwards. By itself, it sounds like a 50 dollar set, but using one of the surround sound apps really unlocks it’s potential. Since then I use them with console and pc gaming exclusively. I hope you give them a try.
Hello i have owned the wirless version of this headset since release and its so amazing but i only have 4 complaints. The weight. 1, its very heavy an hurts my head rlly bad to wear after about 3 hours. 2 the battery life. it says its suppose to last a very long period as mine only last maybe 8 hours tops. and 3 theres no aux jack so if ur headset is almost dead u really have to plug in your headset top continue to play. and the final 4 is the mic. after so long of me moving it up and down if i try to put the headset up an the mic will drop.
Hey is there anyway to fix the problem where your friends in party chat can hear everything that is happening in your game ? I already tried turning off mic monitoring and messing with the settings but nothing seems to work
You're supposed to mute your TV because the volume comes through the headset, some people don't know this and that's why they can hear it. Whenever you use your headset you always mute your TV since all audio will be through your headset when you use it.
The headset is not responsible for you configuring your audio settings correctly. The first thing I always do is turn down in-game sound effects to 70% or so so you can hear voices better during battle. The game should also support ducking if it's worth anything at all
I got em today. For some reason I can mess with audio settings. And people can hear me in party chat but I can’t hear the game or other people in the party. I made sure my controller is up to date and I’ve tried plugging the headset into other stuff and still no dice. For reference I am using an elite 2 controller
Thank you so much!! I just bought the wired version...decided to look up reviews before I opened the box. Seen your review and IMMEDIATELY went back and exchanged them for the wireless headset. Love these headphones! Thank you!
Does the wireless version sound and mic come close to the Arctics 9x after adjusting the EQ? I'm torn bc by the time you buy that headset and earcups your starting to get closer to that 9X price. I know it's still less but it just adds cost.
@@TheTechne Do the higher frequency sounds hang with the Arctis? I pretty much only play COD for reference. Also keep up the great work. Big fan of the channel!
@@iand6453 its good for cod but its better for like story driven games because of the extra base, for FPS ill recommend the Blackshark v2 or v2x, hyper x cloud 2 or Logitech g pro.
Have you thought about doing reviews on headphones people use for gaming that aren't "gaming headsets" ? My setup is a pair of Phillips SHP9500's with a v-moda boom pro for my mic, and my girlfriend uses a pair of Audio Technica ATH-sr6btbk's, also with a v-moda boompro. I think it'd be cool to show off some "set-ups" that are a bit different, and to see how you like'em as well
So I got a turtle beach recon 70 and it causes echos from my others friends point of view. I was looking at these comments and hear wireless or wired is good I don’t know officially what to get. And does this mic cause any echo issues in general?
this is exactly what I'm experiencing right now, I'm using cheap headsets tho but they worked perfectly fine on my ps4.. but on my xbox? my friends keep complaining about the echos of everything including the game sound itself... I don't know which headsets I should use to get rid of this problem seriously
@@Itsjuztdrew I've seen reviews about the wireless but I can't afford them, I can afford the wired ones but after watching this review I'll be stuck with them only on xbox
What’s funny is he likes the wireless after setting up the eq but didn’t get into that with the wired version. I got the wired version and I bought Dolby atmos when it was on sale and honestly I was blown away. Say what you will about the stock sound and I agree it’s really bad but atmos is the only app that gives you the ability to fix that bad sound. Try it out and if you don’t like it just return it.
try and get a Plauduct Stereo Headset Adapter for Xbox One/One S/Elite 1&2/Series S|X Controllers, Mic Headphone Adapter for Xbox One Controller, Kit for Xbox One Xbox Series X|S
I would get the wired one because. The wired ones supports lossless audio wireless just can’t do lossless at least not yet. It has to get compressed to lossy and also then gains extra latency and that for me at least just out weighs the eq adjustment or whatever you said.
Great review as usual!, if I may share a comment, on the wireless one it still baffles me why would Microsoft not include a 3.5mm jack to use it in Wired mode

@The Techne You should review the new Razer Kaira X for Series X and compare it to the BlackShark v2 X ! Great review.
If you plug it into like a turtle beach amp allows you to control game and chat volume and you can tweak eq with adobe atmos.
This may sound stupid but is there a way that I can use a headset just for the microphone? I want to be able to use my sound bar for the sound only
How do they compare against Razer v2 x im stuck between both of them
Do the wireless ones have an option to use them wired? There is no way I'm gonna keep an eye on two batteries.
