Gonna go ahead drop a rare demo here for ya... lol
On record he always sounds so polished, that's the studio for ya. I love hearing his raw voice and he still sounds excellent!
What he misses in range he makes up tenfold in energy and passion. I completely agree.
Imagine how much success they could have had if Kevin wasn't cut out of the band. Never topped the first album.
And Arion. His bass was also a critical part of the sound now missing
Someone got greedy……
After 20 years he still sounds good.
I love this band....
They sang HIGTB so well live! One of my absolutely favorite songs from them!
Listening to this in October of 2020 almost 20 years after the anniversary of something awful that happened to me...and these songs and Stephen’s voice... still brings comfort to my soul and tears to my eyes.
That's the magic and beauty of music. When you connect so deeply with it it will ALWAYS take you there ..
Alright Caroline us such a beautiful song, one of my favorites by them.
This is one of Stephan’s best live vocal performances ever!
Lol you must've only seen a few clips here and there.
@@Clowncentral101 or he’s never seen him live lol
@@Clowncentral101 lol
I'm late, it's 2021. I just want to say thank you for mentioning XEB. The only positive thing I can say about this performance is that it reminds me of an open mic Tuesday when a singer gets up, alone, and other musicians ask if they can join. You know what I mean? It just has no personality, energy, or attitude. So I started reading the comments, saw XEB, and listened to them tear it up!! HOLY CRAP!! Again, thanks for that mention.
Yep XEB may not have the distinctive voice of jenkins but they do have the distinctive instrumental sound which is missing from 3EB now
My Daughters turned me on to a Third Eye Blind concert last year in Portland Or and it was one of thee best concerts of my life.. Ive seen Queen, ZZ Top, Jeff Beck etc. etc. and etcetera, those were good too haha, what I'm sayin is these guys are amazing
Huh, you must be deaf... And I LOVE these guys. But let's be honest, that are shit live. Much in the same vein as Blink or Pearl Jam.
@@danielrobbins840
Ohhh!! LOL!
I shoulda put a big ol BUTT in there so folks would know I was saying it was a fun and good concert but c'mon.. Jeff Beck, Tom Petty, Queen .. Really, yes, Third Eye Blind was fun and they kept me dancing all night butt I was joking in my comparisons. I know, it's ridiculous to do that. Kinda funny you really took off on it tho. I thought I made it clear I was joking.
🎸❤🎩🎸💃🚶🎸
Even Third Eye Blind wouldn't have believed that one! Well, most of em anyway! The lead singer may have 😁
This is an awesome set and I'm super excited to see them live in Dallas in a few weeks!!! Stephen sounds great, who knew it's been 20 years since they made their first album!
Ashley B. .. dammit Ashley did you get to go I live over here in North Richland Hills I don't know if you know where that's at just Fort Worth basically but me and my girlfriend was supposed to go to that and I ended up having to work we and have tickets or anything we're just going to go out there and get them but I should have just quit my fucking job anyways saw somebody from Texas just wanted to say hi and we love Third Eye Blind but everytime I see him singing live I'm like shit dude you need to practice or just hang it up anywho I'm not trying to be mean he just really can't sing anymore but then I saw some videos from the Dallas show and wounded sounded awesome I don't know why I'm blabbering on must be the alcohol and pills LOL peace Ashley
They make really good music, I love them and they are really cool performing live
I want you!!!!! Best ever 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼💯
That was the song that made me fall in love with them!
YES!!!
no hate to the new guys or anything, I just miss Kevin and Arion so much!
Go listen to Xeb
XEB is way truer to 3EB than this
Even miss Tony
@Andy Witmyer 3eb has the voice but thats it. This sounds more like a cover band. Xeb nails the overall sound better
Jenkins told the band: "You can wear whatever you want, as long as it's black shirt, jacket, pants, and shoes". 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Da best! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Third eye blind is my fucking no. 1 fave band of all time. Since grade 5. Im 33 now. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🇵🇭
"Were not a four chord band", proceeds to play 10 songs with 4 open chords lol
How difficult is it to quote someone properly when you can go back and reference the video in your leisure. He said THREE CHORD BAND. 🤦♂️
@@tcmusic6429 That extra chord made all the difference!
@@NFStamper here’s the thing, it does when you’re quoting someone (inaccurately quoting and trying to make a joke) so yeah it does. People are fucking idiots.
I believe what he said was “the four right chords can make me cry”
@@carzywill I used to think, for many years, that he was saying “And the four-eyed girls could make me cry” because I thought he liked girls with glasses.
Used to get drunk to these guys back in the day god I feel old 😣
hell look at them! they're getting old too tho!
Back in um 98 I went to a huge concert. They were giving away mouse pads. I got near the front and everyone was whipping mouse pads around. Steven lead singer was wearing a Dr Seuss hat(remember that fad) and I knocked his hat off. Cool look he gave me
hi
@@Sawedoffsob I know the feeling and i'm only 43.

I love you steven Jenkins

I just miss Kevin and Arion so much
Those guys carried this band. Think of all the good music they could’ve made if they stayed together.
😊❤
Stephen still sounds pretty good, Idk about the fucking hate give that dude a break.
DruMeister no one hates him for his sound, he’s just a fucking cockbag who got rid of all the much more talented band members he had. Surprised Brad hasn’t left/been fired yet.
@@Master_RoSSShi yeah it's conflicting...I like the band alot...but he himself... a huge douche haha
I'd be more willing to give him a break for his age/voice if he wasnt a total piece of shit person
"Sleeping on cots, wishing that I had some tater tots"
Fricken awesome. R the people in the audience straight jacketed?
He needs Kevin and Arion. They carried this band.
Yep doesnt sound right anymore. Stephen can give the new guys the sheet music and equipment Kevin and Arion played but they cant play them the same
Of course, not, but when someone wants to keep all the money for themselves and pay the other members of the band, a small salary, this is what happens
Stephan Jenkins looks like he's 36....or 40, 45? No way he's 53. Not that it matters. My man, the man.
55
He was 34 when their first album dropped. Huge late bloomer.
Austin C.M. I know I was 38 and I had no idea he was almost my age. Now he and I are both senior citizens!
gen x 🖤
It may be time to slip in a little auto tune in certain spots, Stephen. My ears were bleeding a couple times.
Set list with timestamps please?
See above
I'm Matt Pinfield, I'm going to talk non-stop about stories of when 3EB were good. No, none of you guys were there, but listen up, once upon a time...
Vocals were a little rough in this set. Can't ignore that these are great songs new and old even if Stephen wasn't the best guy to his bandmates... Compare this set to 3EB at Bonnaroo in 2016
are you expecting a studio version ?
Nope, vocals sound great. Stephen sounds fucking awesome here.
Stephen is showing his age and looking less like Tucker Carlson from fox news! For real!!
jeff risey and you don't/won't show your age? dudes still rocking let's see your ass in your 50's with that much energy.
@@justgregnow Yeah no shit!! For his age, the amount of alcohol he's consumed,( nothing wrong with that), this being HD, etc......... He looks remarkable!!
That's a good thing wouldn't you say? Tucker Carlson still looks and sounds like a Kid .. Its freaky! And I'm here 4 years after your comment 😀
I think your comment is funny.. Jeez some folks just can't roll with a joke. Kinda sad to see
I want you the best one :)
Do they do weddings?
Paul Sowinski if you pay enough, just about any artist will do weddings
lol hilarious
Haven't listened to many songs but man did Stephen screw up getting rid of people in the band. Brilliant as a collective souless without them
XEB >>>>>>>>> than whatever this is
Does he even practice these songs before playing them live? Stephan your voice is your money maker, if you do not dedicate time to sing the songs just remotely in tune this is the result. Maybe a little harsh just doesn't seem like he's fully devoted.
He has always been this way. By the time it starts sounding spot on...the concert is usually almost over.
be quiet
sing the same song for 20 years and you’d want to switch it up too. Bro.
He literally forgot the words to semi charmed life recently. Pathetic
For anyone who wants to real what Third Eye Blind really authentically sounds like, check this is out. XEB features 3 former members of Third Eye Blind, including irreplaceable founding members Cadogan and Salazar. Fredianelli (the guitarist on 3EBs third and fourth albums) is a better vocalist than Stephan Jenkins. These guys actually care about the music. Listen and be amazed:
ruclips.net/video/Wus_v_kU7z0/видео.html
Terrible. Go see XEB. They put on an incredible show. Between all the bandmates of XEB, they have more cumulative time spent as a part of Third Eye Blind than the gentlemen on this stage, anyhow.
The guitarist doesn't even bother to use the same open tunings as Cadogan...the one thing that made them stand out..... sigh...
@@ubernate860 honestly the keyboard player is way too prominent in this new 3eb, and the guitar player is straight ass
@@ubernate860 He gave an interview where he said he'd never even heard of the band when he auditioned. He has zero credibility with me.
The moment he announced that the rest of the band was "stunningly lazy", I stopped the video. Can't believe he'd say that, especially to a live audience. That's not the way to treat your band mates / talent.
Chuck Chuck Music I’m pretty sure he was referring to radio stations in general. As in they don’t want to put in the effort of setting up an entire band in studio.
Ummmmm thats par for the course though. He literally fukt his bandmates out of any ownership and tried to steal all the money from the band
C'mon, Stephen, you've made enough money already under the "3EB" name. Now please dump these MI graduates, get back with Kevin and Arion and write some new shit. This is just depressing.
Stephen is 3EB.
@@andrewr4792 Legally yes. He's issued enough cease and desists.
At least properly spell the dude’s name if you’re going to criticize someone. Idiot.
@@andrewr4792 that's the problem
@@andrewr4792 Kevin is 3eb. He wrote the better songs.
This is embarrassing to watch? Ouch! vocals bad, he was always awful live, now no voice.
Plays one song...he doesn't sound like he cares/tried. Then he tells his audience his band is lazy. Have to admit, I saw a show 5-6 years ago and it was incredible. That being said, every live performance (on youtube) I have seen subsequently has sucked and he is so blatantly arrogant/ in denial that it is hard to continue watching for fear of losing how I feel about/remember my favorite band. Shame.
XEB plays 3EB correctly, and better than this
I've seen 3EB three times live and they were all great concerts. This is the worst condition I've ever seen them in. It's like they don't care. It's like seeing an awful knock-off tribute band. I'm jaw droppingly disappointed and embarrassed for them. Stephen, you're so proud and self righteous. Give us a reason to be offended by the content of the songs, not the quality.
lol. His vocals has been like that ever since like 2017. Lifestyle changes, aging, illnesses, and touring weaken the vocal cords. They have a show in NY soon & I don't think I could hear these type of vocals.
God they are so awful live. Stephen sounds like a cat in heat.
go listen to your ipod
