This is by far my favourite Qotsa song, my lord, Joshua Homme Is very talented isn’t he? Awesome band too, Best band to come from the turn of the millennium!!!🖤🖤🖤
I never lie To myself Tonight. Rose, tinted eyes Color my sorrow A shade of 'why? Bye bye black balloon See you real soon Wave bye bye Bye bye Why were you so sad What have they done? Forget those mindless baboons They're off playing God Copy cats in cheap suits All playing it safe While cannibals with their noose Consume a parade Is it wonderful? Kalopsia, kalopsia, kalopsia Kalopsia, kalopsia Far, far from shore The land of nightmares Gone forever more And I love you more Than I can control I don't even try Why would I? Oh why the long face? You've got it all wrong Forget the rat in the race We'll choke chain them all Fates favor the ones Who help themselves The rest feel the sting of the lash As they run, as they run To hell
favourite track off my favourite qotsa album hoping deep down these reissues and influx of new uploads after two years means there's a new album on the horizon, too
My father introduced me to music, the whole art and idea; so to speak, and upon that introduction he only showed me a sliver of QOSTA also upon that I took that sliver and made it extremely large as they are now my favorite band. Every song for me as I remember each time, for the first time, just waves of unexpectedness and utter disbelief on how they were just able to make such god on Earth music. Now I have no clue how I never saw this song but I had gotten a pair of headphones just recently and I was testing after multiple failed attempts to get them working, I went and saw this, curious as always to a new song, and by god was I just simply stunned and for the exact 4 minutes and 38 seconds (They randomly started working) I felt as if I was somewhere else and my huge plate of issues were gone. I will always love this band, they have helped me with more than enough without myself even acknowledging it.
I grew up listening to them. It wasn't until guitar Hero when I found out what they were called. I'm sorry Josh You're Depression sounds so beautiful here! 😢😂
I wish he did more with Queens, even though he collaborates with them a lot. You can tell when Trent is part of a song based on the amount of synth and confusing sounds. It's like a Geiger counter.
I am feeling a warmth within this tortured soul just in knowing I share this song as my favorite Qotsa and damn near really probably overall. What a beautiful piece of work, this whole album is in a class all it’s own. I’ve played myself for over forty years and would love to have a song this discriptive, emotional and humble all in one in my thousands of writings. Beautiful work guys. Keep ‘em coming.!!!!
@@rossatroncorp how so???? What's your frame of reference for you disputing this??? Like are you even familiar with the overall inspiration for this album???? Josh was fresh out of a coma after an od
@@daddydolla5210 Firstly, there wasn’t an OD coma. He contracted MRSA after a surgery and was confined to bed rest for a few months. All of that information is available online, in interviews with Josh himself. He’s certainly not a heroin addict, so it’s actually more necessary for you to provide evidence for that spurious claim (for a quick guide on the drugs he likes, look no further than ‘Feel Good Hit of the Summer’ from Rated R). To ask if I’m familiar with the inspirations behind the album is silly, especially when you make weird claims like that one.
@@daddydolla5210 Secondly, to say you can only write beautiful songs with addiction as a source of inspiration is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard. What was Paul McCartney addicted to when he wrote Yesterday? Nicotine and a cuppa?
@@rossatroncorp first I never said it's the only source of inspiration. Rather a general. If you're so disillusioned by the surface of the words written in this song and others ie; suture up my future.. I'm not sure if you fail to comprehend,or are unfamiliar with Josh and his struggle with heroin addiction to realize that his muse had long been the needle. He also references it in many songs but if I had a tail, tangled up in plaid, sherbet....etc..no disrespect but there is a world of hidden meanings hidden beneath the surface of everything. Songs included. If you need something a little easier to comprehend I think you should listen to some Nickelback or creed.. keep with your narrow scope of thinking..
Kalopsia: The delusion of things being more beautiful than they are.
You can definitely feel that with this song.
Fun fact: Josh Homme and Trent Reznor share the same birthday, May 17. Reznor in 1965 and Homme in 1973.
As a ex of geminis I appreciate this lol
My faves!

"The rest feel the sting of the lash as they row the boat to hell" are the correct lyrics. With the follow up line "Row..." at the very end.

I'm enamored by these lyrics such an amazing beautiful song. "I love you more than I can control... I don't even try, why would I?"❤💯🤘

If I didn't know any better I'd think this was off of David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust album
i love you more than i can control

This song always reminds me of a Bowie song.

This song is obviously a slightly veiled reference to shooting heroin. Songs that are this beautiful and deep generally stem from addiction.
