Thank you so much for watching. We have a second video on the best food and views in the Dolomites, which also includes the Seiser Alm Alp di Siusi and the Seceda Peak in the Val Gardena!
Ahhh, gorgeous! You two have me dreaming again! We have hiked a lot around Naturns and Innsbruck. SO gorgeous! Have you guys hiked the Zirbenveg, at Innsbruck? I will have to see if you have a video there! Thanks
Not yet for Zirbenveg! We do have a video on our stay and hikes at the Achensee, which is also close to Innsbruck😀 Thank you for watching, the Dolomites are one of our favorite destinations so far!
Thank you, I just discovered your channel. 2 good people with wisdom. some Peaceful and somewhat philosophical thoughts while walking beautiful landscapes. I feel the same way and can certainly relate. Going back to the dolomites in june for the third time, we'll be staying close to Castelrotto for 4 nights. Can't wait to walk seiser Alm. Thanks for this. 😊
Welcome! Thank you for watching! How wonderful that you're coming back to the Dolomites this summer. For best food and views in the Dolomites check out Val Gardena just up the valley from Castelrotto!
Coming to Iceland Any thoughts on renting an AWD car instead of a 4WD? The AWD automatically (theoretically) will switch to use all 4 wheels without me having to change it myself. Would this be sufficient? Honestly, we’re not planning on doing a lot of driving, but as you wisely advise, “saving money” on a cheaper car isn’t a great idea! But is AWD generally “enough”? Thanks! Love your videos!
Hi, Thank you for watching. Alpe di Siusi is located in Italy's Dolomite mountains. During the day you may not drive any kind of car there. Our visits have been in the summer when you don't need a special car in the Dolomites. Have a great trip!
this video is most helpful! deciding where to stay 3 nights in Dolomites can be difficult. Our family is booked to visit late March 2023. Hoping we can take a bus to Alpe di Siusi. great job on the channel.. love the content.
Is this reachable from Milan as a day trip? I’ve seen conflicting results if so I will make it happen when I go back to Italy because this place is absolutely gorgeous
Oh, wow, that would be a long and arduous journey all in one day! Technically, it's possible, especially in the longer days of summer. Back and forth to Milan is eight hours of driving. If by car, you need to get to the restricted road, the only way up to the meadow, before it closes in the morning or after it opens again in the early evening. Going down there are no restrictions on the road hours. We highly recommend several days in this area if not more, Alpine weather is unpredictable and there is so much to see and enjoy!
@@happygoluckytravel Gotcha I had seen information saying that it was about 3 hours from Milan to Bolzano and then from Bolzano to Siusi another 30 minutes, personally I won’t spend all my time in Milan maybe see it for a day and then use the remaining 6 days I have in Italy elsewhere. Definitely not opposed to staying in the Dolomite region for 6 days
Thank you so much for watching! The bulk of the video was filmed in late July, first week of August. It's very hard to time for the meadow flowers as they bloom different every year.
We stayed in a house rental in Selva and did day trips to the Seiser Alm. There are also many hotels on the Seiser Alm. You can drive, take a bus, or take one of two cable cars up. If you drive, confirm with the tourist office for the hours of the road, as the upwards direction is restricted.
Thank you for watching! To park your car up at the meadow, there isn't a booking, you just need to arrive to the road barrier at the bottom of the mountain in the morning before the road closes or in the early evening when it opens again. You can go down the mountain at any time. You can also take a gondola up to the Seiser Alm all day long, from two villages at valley level. Please check the hours for the road barrier and gondolas with the Val Gardena tourist office for the most up to date info. We hope you have a fantastic trip!
what a lovely vlog!

@@happygoluckytravel will do for sure. So, my wife say both of you look great. Is it politesse to ask you how old both of you are? 😁
Hi, We're old enough to be grandparents, but not old enough for a senior discount 😀!
@@happygoluckytravel perfect answer! 😁

Have fun! This is an alpine landscape and our videos were filmed in the summer. You might find snow -- I'm sure very pretty, too!
@@happygoluckytravel 👍👍 we will limited w the snow. But hopefully hut or two remain open towards the ski area. Appreciate the advice.
we did it.. what an amazing place.. we captured few minutes of video at Alpi di Sissi.
Wonderful
Thank you! Cheers!

@@happygoluckytravel forgot to ask what about those who choose to bike instead of renting a car does the same rule for the road apply?
Its best to check with the tourist office -- we remember that bikes were okay to pass at all hours when we were last there.

OOPs I see June!!
