I’m an Irish girl from an Italian/ Irish neighborhood called Federal Hill in Providence RI . Once you’re immersed in the culture of Italy on your trip , eating the food & drinking wine with local people you will pick it up easy Ciao ! 👋🏼
I always feel overwhelmed and think you need lots of land to homestead. I had NO IDEA you’re on 2.5 acres and achieve such abundance. That is very encouraging! I’d love to hear more about how your property is divided up into plants/animals/barns/etc!
Raising one's children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. I appreciate your wise balance of neither hiding who you want to be, nor trying to force long detailed descriptions upon those who aren't interested. Christ was an amazing evangelist who's method's were not condemning the crestfallen or coercing the weak willed. He loved and served well, but also spoke difficult truth about being the only way. The latter is often not respected, but even less so without the former. So thank you for being caring, thank you for sharing in a wise way, and thank you for being honest but judicious in how much and what you choose to share and say. It's hard work.
I saw year's ago on a Biography of the movie Star Betty Davis, that even as a "Star"..... when she would ever go through a difficult time in her life, that she believed nothing was better for "working it all out in her head" than getting down on her hands and knees with a bucket of water and scrub brush and scrubbing the kitchen floor by hand! I always remembered that, picturing her in my mind, in some big mansion in the middle of the night.... scrubbing her kitchen floor by hand. Nothing like working with your hands to bring fulfillment. I've also heard that men who work in offices, "pencil pushers", like accountants or lawyers, etc., do well mentally to have a hobby of making something "tangible" with their hands.
I found this Chanel by accident through another homesteading Chanel. It may sound sappy but all your videos calm me down and bring me back to my childhood. (I was also homeschooled back in the day). I miss the simpleness and peace of living as you all do. I know from experience it’s never ever easy but it is worth every bit of the hard work you put in.
@@theelliotthomestead your channel is my favorite.. it has gotten SO much better over the last year.. Its like stepping into a fairytale! ❤captivating!!!!! Stu, bless us with a little longer!
I really love the more vloggy style of this one Shaye 😍 it was a little bit like those older, more uncurated videos of yours that I - have to be honest - been kinda missing from your channel lately :) don't get me wrong, I love the beautiful musik and the carefully but scenes and well written voice over, it's creating a magical and inspiring athomosphere. But those unscripted real life glimpses into your world are just as inspiring, if not more :) so I really liked the mixture in this one! Love from Germany :)

Especially when you hurt, your tired, and so depressed at what you CAN'T do. Thank you so much for your words of encouragement today. May God richly bless you and your family.

I have watched for a long while now and I so look forward to coming home and checking on what’s new with you and your family, I feel like I have a short visit with friends across the country. Thank you for the joy you have shared, along with the insight on the great work it takes to run a farm, to homeschool, and nurture your children and your land. talk about what you all do for homeschool sometime! :) Love your content. I know that the life you've chosen is not an easy one- getting up to go milk in the chilly weather is not always enjoyable (I'm in the same boat, so I know! haha!) but I love to see others doing it because it keeps me inspired!
I missed you posting more often, but I understand family comes first. it's nice to see you getting some work done, it makes me feel a little bit more motivated to get my own work done on my homestead.
What a lovely life...a respite from the craziness going on today. I love your home and style. I saw a beautiful blue coverlet on your wall and swooned..lol. Thank you for a breath of fresh air and Happy New Year!
Keep up the good work and thank you for sharing with us. I raised my children a lot like you and don't regret it. I spent so much valuable time training. ENJOY!
You my dear girl...have alot of patience and love what you do When I was growing up we had cows ,pigs and all kinds of animals.all kinds of fruit trees,. We would wait till my u cke got the corn picked .then go out and walk the fields to pick up the dropped corn ears for the cows.thats when corn picking went on into November and December. I grew up with woods around us. In the fall down by the creek ..there were big trees ...the monarch butterflies would latch onto.the trees would be covered in monarch butterflies.you don't see this around here anymore.you have a beautiful.place.
Thank you so much! I needed this message today, haven't been able to get out of holiday mode despite going back to work! Beautiful video as always, you always remind me to stay down to earth and be happy with and proud of the little things.
I just love your videos so much. Seeing your counter/table that can be moved has inspired me to find a similar piece to add some more work space in our kitchen!!
Hi Shaye! I love your videos! As someone who studies language acquisition extensively in university and has learned other languages myself, I have some tips I would like to share with you (that I paid my university handsomely to learn) 😝 One is to watch and listen to content in your target language. If you are watching a show, put on the Italian captions and/or audio to help you learn. Listen to Italian music, and shows. Read books in Italian (I know it sounds impossible but with a good dictionary it is totally doable, tip-find some children’s books in your target language and start there). And above all, practice it! With another person who is fluent or learning! Even if you mess up! The point of language is understanding meaning, so even if it isn’t perfect, if you get your message across you are doing great. Good luck!
I’ve been enjoying your experimenting with different video styles. You guys always put out quality content (no pressure 😉) Thank you for all the time and effort you put in!
Hi! I am actually Italian and need to continue my learning the language so THANK YOU! What an awesome thing! I loved the episode, you teaching your beautiful kids ! And the floor looks awesome great work and feels good to have done I am sure! ❤️
I needed this too. This has got me moving with what I really want to do again. Plus I have signed up to Babble, making use of the discount - thank you! I am about to start learning to speak Polish! 😁
Love all the fresh little details in this video! (And love your back-button sweater! 👌) Thank you for this boost of motivation - now I’m ready to tackle my afternoon. 😘
Ahhh love this. 🖤 We actually just started cleaning our home too and doing all the projects we just haven't had the time or courage to do. I'm really excited to turn this house into a home. Thank you for sharing this and inspiring me, as always. 🖤
It is so cool to know a new language Italian is so cool any other language is still cool blessed be to you and I hope your travels go's perfect and enjoy yourselves and be safe out there you will have fun and thank you for the app of learning a new language 👍🙏🥂🙋👍
Oh my goodness! I just discovered your channel and it's amazing. I loved this video and can't wait to go back and watch some of your back catalog. Warm wishes from over the pond in Cornwall, UK. :)
As our own efforts towards reaching our ambitions seem at times messy and unfruitful, it is nice to know that somewhere out there is Elliott Homestead, showing us it IS all possible and inspiring us to press on toward the dream.
kind of a cool little idea I don't know if you've already heard of this but keeping a small pine tree on your property and letting it grow each year with your family! and then when it gets too big putting it out to pasture. Basically instead of cutting one down you just dig one up every year and keep it in a pot when it's christmas time!
I'm so thankful I got Christmas down early this year! It was down before New Year's and that is a FEAT for me 😂 As moms, even the smallest of things take so long to complete it seems. I'm just enjoying my last baby, while she's a baby ♥️ The rest will wait!

Also, your tile floor, did you cure it old world style, with hydrated lime paste, or something else? It turned out gorgeous.
