The drip trays come on the upper models wood-mizer should offer them as a option for this machines but, don't as far as I know. I think I'd want a replaceable wear pad not the Stainless that was slightly softer then the band. So as not to cause any unnecessary wear to the bands. I could be over thinking it. Also a good wiper system for the excess lube is in order. Hooking up the exhaust vent system is probably the best way to go even thou it's a pain especially in the middle of the room.
Good comments! On the stainless, consider that the carbon steel blade is oil coated - so slides over the stainless. Drip catch bins are a necessity for sure! Or oil soaked floor. The exhaust is working really well this far. I do need to look into a secondary wiper system.
Hi Paul I have the Cooks setter. It works really well and fast. It comes with a thin (0.045”) flat piece that is used for calibration. When you remove the blade, if you hit the gauge it may loose calibration within a few thousandths. I calibrate about every 10 blades just to keep it very accurate. It takes about 2 minutes to do. Hope this helps. The sharpeners work really well. Take a look at the videos I’ve done on these to save you some on the learning curve. Hope this info helps!👍
I have same sharpener. Like your ideas. I added a in-line exhaust fan directly on top of the cover and vented it outside; works pretty good.
Hi Dave
My sharpeners are not located on an outside wall, so I had to opt for the filter box. Outside is better I’m sure!
