      @@TRINbAGO_DAN Agreed! Even if she sounds good. Jamaicans are very patriotic and stick to their own culture. You have take their own, they are not taking yours..They do not conform....I notice Trinbagonians are losing their culture by copying others too much. The sweet white whine, now they are dancing afrobeat style to soca, the backup dancers look like cheerleaders.. so much, hmm smh

      @@TRINbAGO_DAN Respect.Thanks for clarifying, I was getting real scared. I live in NYC, and the amount of Jamaicans that hate soca, it made me a born again soca Baptist. Now I hate reggae music, I find it too slow and it's a struggle music, all the lyrics is about struggle, hunger, and strife.🇹🇹🎶💃. Long live soca music🎶🎶💃💃🇹🇹🇹🇹

      Yes she can when she wants to. For the most part these days, I don't see her whine much on stage, but I've seen her live in a concert and she was wining real good. That was when she younger and her and bunji were still dating.

    As a strong West Indian and a intelligent Caribbean man, people like you always trying to create these separation niche. Jamaica and Trinidad are two Caribbean islands with genres of music both Soca-calypso and Reggae which are formulating a sense of pride, culture, love and togetherness world wide. Who gives a rats behind if Jamaicans and Trinidadians want to collaborate in songs being creative singing each others music. At the end of the day both music were created from the bellows of our African ancestry. We are all the same that is one of the reasons we are called the West Indies from Cuba to Guyana do your research. Don't start that nonsense enjoy it for what it is. GOD bless you

      🏏⚽️ I see your point of unity,Jamaicans do not support SOCA🇹🇹 music,I have not ever seen any reggae or dancehall artist tribute to perform a SOCA🇧🇧song,,even those who did collabs,,I do my research,,because I'm bothered also by SOCA🇬🇩artist going on stage and promoting reggae,that's already world wide and gets the recognition that SOCA🇬🇾 MUSIC should have in some way.not just at carnivals over the globe,is when we SOCA🇭🇹music matters.we trying to push SOCA🇦🇬to the same status,we have so much groovy SOCA🇱🇨that could make women&men Dance,SOCA🇰🇳doh Promote violence and up women crotch,SOCA🇩🇲women sing love and fun,,not about dey pu¥ as dancehall women,SOCA🇻🇨is life!SOCA🇵🇦TO THE UNIVERSE🌐💯%🎷🥁🎤

    Have you ever heard a Jamaican adopting a Trini accent in their song? No, only Trini's do that. Where is the respect and pride for your culture? Now I understand why North Americans and Europeans think Trinidad is in Jamaica.

    • @chynyee
      @chynyee 6 лет назад +5

      Not really. What I have observed is that often times when others from other countries such as Nigeria, South Africa, etc sing a reggae tune, for that particular song, they adopt a Jamaican accent. I think it's just part of art. When she sings her soca songs, which is mostly what she sings, it's always with a Trini accent/pidgin English.

    I disagree , but understand your message about art. However, a Jamaican would never try to sound like a Trinidadian in their music, as they are proud people with a strong belief in their Jamaicaness. Trinidadians musicians on the other hand are selling out their dialect and adopting Jamaican idioms in their soca , some Jamaicanising soca completely.
    The Trinidad government says, that they want to boost tourism. However, tourist all over the world are always looking for uniqueness - not sameness. Therefore, a tourist would have no desire to go to Trinidad to hear Jamaican music , eat Jamaican food , hear Jamaican patois, when they can go to Jamaica and experience the real thing. Furthermore, Jamaica is a very beautiful island with gorgeous white sandy beaches and calm seas. . So why would a tourist come to Trinidad , if is has no unique features to offer. No natural wild life , no original Trinidad music or cultural events and the same level of violence, that keeps tourist away from Jamaica .

      Angela Lum Wai Really trying to get your point. Are you saying she shouldn't sing the reggae songs she did with the Jamaican patios??? The first being from Taurus, followed by the Beres???

    • @audleymclean610
      @audleymclean610 6 лет назад +2

      You are making a mountain outa mole hill, everyone who sings reggae adapt a Jamaican accent and style, here are some, Collie Budz from Bermuda, Gentleman from Germany, Albarosie from Italy, Dubeez from Netherland, nuff Japanese ''as a matter of fact I'm puzzled as to how especially the Japanese master Jamaica lingua so perfectly, even Alecia KEYS WHEN SHE SONG A REMIX WITH BABY CHAM,,
      ON THE ISSUE OF Jamaican NOT FOLLOWING TRINI,, YES WE DO!!! THE JAMAICA CARNIVAL IS HIGHLY TRINI ORIENTED MUSIC, DANCE, EVERYTHING, so get you fact st88t, it is a misconception that Jamaicans don't like TrIni, YES WE DO, ONCE A TRINI NOT TRYING TO EMBARASS US, I live in CT and have nuff Trini brethren we share every sentiment, every joke, every ulterior sentiment about any one of us,, so stop thinking untruthful.
