if you ban the sale of meths users will find something else to drink or take and everyone with a legitimate use for it will be buggered. Meths drinking is a symptom the solution is to address its cause i.e. deprivation
I knew a tattoo artist (before he became a tattoo artist) would strain a bottle of methylated spirits through a loaf of bread to remove the impurities and then mix it with lime cordial before drinking it.
I'm sorry, but you want to ban an amazing fuel and cleaner because of a few alcoholics who need help? No, that doesn't solve anything, and the prohibition proved that.
+Goabnb94 When they get into this medical people say they are beyond help and passed the point of no return. Most die after they pickled enough. Should just put medical facts on the bottles like cigarettes these days.
Ron Rudd you might have little sympathy for me but I'm an alcoholic, it's plagued my life for 15 years. Ive tried to stop countless times. I boughtmetho because I couldn't get alcohol. it's disgusting and my body hurts but the anxiety is beyond horrendous and it takes the edge off. perhaps I'll die soon. I don't care. I do about my family and how it woukd affect them but this condition is exhausting
Never give up giving up dirtydisco. If you care about your family keep trying to rid yourself of your addiction the reward will be spending more sober time with your family rather than imminent death and leaving them grieveing for the sober person they used to love.Good luck
Yeah, typical statist response. "The toxic shit we're putting in this is making people sick; we should put more toxic shit and bitterants in it." How about just stopping with putting in the toxic shit (formerly methanol, now isopropanol or other denaturants). You'll lose out on some tax but at least people won't get sick and die as much as they do now from drinking "methylated" spirits.
@@dirtydiscosecretshow are you doing now? Better I hope, since it’s been 7 years. I used to drink hand sanitizer and while the world will see it as disgusting and just not understand, alcohol withdrawal is so incredibly awful and scary that there isn’t much a person wouldn’t do to stop it, or to at least just put it off til another day. Plus, the fact that the withdrawal alone can be fatal certainly doesn’t help either! I went to detox and got help and been sober for 6 years now, although it took me first picking up a fentanyl addiction along the way as well before I finally got help and now, I’ve been on the methadone clinic ever since. Addiction is a crazy thing and such a difficult cycle to break free from, however, it IS possible and I promise you, it’d be the greatest thing you could ever do and the pride from doing so helped me to forget many of the terrible things that led me to drinking and drugging in the first place!
I've tasted bitrex when I've used treatments to stop nail-biting. You're right, it _is_ foul... gets really stuck at the back of your mouth and lasts for a good while. People must be seriously desperate
@@nevadatan7323 I've heard of an urban legend regarding the 'purification' of store brought meth-spirits; somehow people use a loaf of bread to filter some(?) or most of the bittering agent out. (I have no intention of ever testing this...) Were you aware the best cure for the aftertaste of bitrex is milk chocolate ?? :)
Because we just can't have poor people buying alcohol without paying craploads of tax on it. So we have to try to dissuade them from doing it, by adding toxic shit (formerly methanol, now other nonlethal but still toxic denaturants like isopropyl alcohol) and bitterants.
i used to come home from school and meet my dad in the cellar of our house , i loved my dad and he used to repair TVS there used to be a heater in the cellar that you put mentholated spirits in and pump it which turned it it gas then you lit it and got warm via a back reflector. i remember my dad used to drink the mentholated spirits and i though that was ok i was around 8 or 10 at the time later on in life major incidents occurred house getting ransacked , violence, chased with knifes, up all hours of the night running from neighbor to neighbough it was a nightmare finally mum and dad split up and i was turn to pieces , so so so much more just carnt go on..............

Years back they were called meths... I thought it was a wind up but it's true people used to drink it..
Still do bro. Coming from London, I've seen loads of people drink bottles of meths. My mother too has seen them. It's fucking mental.

Jesus, that bittering agent is foul; it's bitrex or something. . .i've never drunk the stuff, the smell alone is stomach churning :(

GIMME MA HUNGRY JACKS
If it doesn't contain methanol how can it be methylated?
Me and the bois 😎👌
If you get some in your mouth would you be ok?
Man it has been worse back then in tonga n nz
If there's no methanol in your methylated spirits why bother banning it?

@Chrisi313 Should be about 10% of methanol in the spirits.
