Hi buddy, just want to say thank you for this series. I haven't bought an RC car since I was a kid. I bought the grasshopper yesterday and for the past 30 hours of my life (give or take) I've been following your tutorial religiously lol. The good news is, it works great and my father and grandfather even gave it a bash around our garden. Thanks for helping me make a really wholesome memory :). The bad news is I feel my pockets emptying because I want another one ASAP haha. All the best!
Thank you so much for letting me know! Really appreciate you sending me a note about your experience. And you’re right…your pockets might end up being a little lighter lol 😆
Freddy thank you, I always wanted a Grasshopper as a kid in the '80's and recently bought one for my son's birthday. Never having built an R/C car before I was slightly intimidated with the build, having your videos step by step all the way through has helped loads. I''ve just finished and the car looks and drives great!
Hi James! Thank you for sending me this...awesome! The Grasshopper is such a great car. Glad to hear it's operating as it's supposed to!! Nice work! That gearbox is pretty much bulletproof so your son should get years of worry free driving out of it.
This whole series was a HUGE help. I really appreciate your time and tips on this whole build. it was fun. Mine is still a roller and will be a shelf Queen until I decide to put some electronics in it one day. Thanks again
My first real rc car. It was indestructible. I jumped it down stairs. Upgraded the motor and wrecked it at very high speed a million times. Great first rc car.
Agree with you!! I know a few people who had this car as there first. I think it’s the perfect first car. Although I’m just about finished building the Tamiya Mad Bull and thinking it might be my new choice!
I forgot it came with two Bodies! That helps for a Car that doesn't come with a Driver!! 👍👍 I would see if the Frog Driver fits. It would cover more inside junk.... But I realize you're showing Novices how to do this by the Manual. And doing a great job!! 👍👍
Thank you for these grasshopper videos I will be starting my grasshopper build this weekend (can't wait) and your videos will/have been very useful. Thanks once again from your new subscriber I look forward to watch more of your channel 😀 👍
Thanks Shaun! Appreciate you reaching out and letting me know. Be sure to reach out again and let me know how your own build goes when you finish it! You’re going to love it!
Bought this kit (candy apple one) a long time ago. Finally got around to building it this weekend and your series on the step by step build supplemented with the instructions included was a life saver. I’m not quite done yet but nearly there. Thank you! Subscribed.
The candy apple grasshopper looks great! I'm glad they brought this one back. I think it's still considered a limited edition but either way it's a fantastic colour. Glad the video series was helpful and thank you for subscribing!
Thanks for this series, I have built many models and rc cars and buggies. Though this is my second Tamiya and happy I have the candy green its something a bit different.
His face on the box art looks a little sun burnt lol. Your guys face it too clear Nobody's skin is that nice. Haha jk Freddy. Such a cool decal sheet too. You're the man, the thoroughness is appreciated.
Hey I really appreciated this video series! I’m just getting into the hobby and you walking me through this was great. I bought your bering upgrade kit too. I’m having one issue… my forward and reverse are opposite on my controller. I have a FS-GT5 controller. Any ideas? Thanks again
Thank you so much. Great to hear. Glad the series has been useful! On your controller there should be a switch that says “servo reversing”or something like that which will reverse the forward and backwards direction which should put it right. Let me know if you can’t figure it out.
I know I've heard that some people do but I've never done that. I've never worried too much about them. Even the stickers on my 30 year old King Cab are doing very well so I just haven't seen the need.
Sorry but kind of a useless video. You didn't give any tips on types of paint or brushes to use. Also didn't show applying the decals. And the decals are precut.
Hi Joe! Thanks for the input. So when I made this video I probably assumed too much in terms of the viewers paint knowledge etc. so looking back on it you might be right to a point. I just used stuff I've had hanging around for so long it probably wasn't worth mentioning. So...as an update here is some information for you: The paint was old Testors model paint that I've had for years and the brushes I was using were an old set of Testors model brushes that I've had forever. As of today, I now use a set of Testors premium brushes (package of 3 sizes) for any of the detail work (which usually just means the driver figure). Also, as of today, I only use the Tamiya TS paint for any of the model work with hard plastic and Tamiya PS paint for painting polycarbonate (the clear plastic body shells). In the Lunch Box video series I actually show how to paint a hard body with the TS paint. As to the decals, you are right they are pre-cut, which I mention, but what I found with some of the decals is that you need to still cut them if you want them to fit nicely on the body. Some of the decals tended to have too much extra around the edges to get nice clean lines. And you're right...I don't show me putting the decals on and actually, for the most part, you won't find me doing that with any of the videos on this channel. I find it incredibly hard to shoot the video and concentrate on putting the decals on properly at the same time. Not to say I haven't done it...there are some kits on this channel where I do show me putting the decals on, but they are usually ones that are small enough, or simple enough, that I can look through the lens of the camera to put them on without messing them up. I'm also not the greatest at putting decals on so I just don't really like showing that part. Maybe if I get proficient at it I'll do a video that showcases how to put decals on in the future...but I'm not there yet.

Hey you’re very welcome! Appreciate you letting me know it was helpful. Such a great looking buggy even as a shelf queen!

Brilliant! Thanks so much for this video and got my son’s Grasshopper built much faster. Really informative and thorough. 😊

That’s a good thought actually! It would be nice if more of the electronics were hidden. But yes, for novices, so thank you!! Appreciate it!!

@@kanenstuff thanks for watching! And very cool that you got the candy green edition. Makes it a bit extra special.

I found the reverse servo button. Oh Yeah! 🤘thanks!
@@avikazman9870 awesome!! You should be good to go!!
1 last thing: I want to build a tamiya black foot next. Do you have a bearing set for that?
Did you spray a varnish over the stickers for extra protection?
