Buying is considered a luxury which is why prices for buying flats/land are expensive but why is the construction not on par with these rates? Nothing justifies these luxurious rates other than the fact that people are seeking to move out of their villages en mass. There are no big corporates to earn steady income, no quality standard of living (recreational third spaces like are almost a taboo to speak of), no developed infrastructure (it is like we are moving out of our mud-house filled villages to come live in concrete-house filled villages; no proper parking, drainage, cleanliness, properly spaced roads, sector-wise divison of areas to ensure security and proper distribution of public amenities) to demand such luxurious rates. We are just playing catch-up with the rest of our indian metro cities for the high real-estate income for those in the real-estate business while not having even a fraction of the development to justify these high prices.
