As in the Days of Noah: The Wickedness of Man’s Heart

In Genesis 6, we see a sobering description of humanity during the days of Noah: “Every imagination of the thoughts of man’s heart was only evil continually.” What does it mean for the thoughts of a person to be wholly consumed by wickedness? How does this compare to the warning in Matthew 24 about the last days being like the days of Noah?
