    Mahonia gracilipes is such a cool plant! I’ve got a very small one that has gone scarlet red this fall. It looks beautiful. I recently got a hybrid from Sean at Cistus Nursery in Portland. It has the white undersides and a fairly narrow leaf. I believe it has eurybracteata in it. Sean took me through their gardens and showed me some of the hybrids they’re growing out. Some have red, peach or bicolor flowers. There was a great deal of variation in leaf shape and color as well. It’s was really fun to see the breeding work he’s got going on. I’m excited to see what the little hybrid grows into and what color flowers it will have
