Thank you for this lesson! When I first got into SRV, this was one of the songs I kept going back to. I read somewhere years ago that the recording on Texas Flood was done on his old yellow Strat with a single pickup. It's one of his guitars that was stolen and never found.
There's a 2 chord rhythm that turns into an arpeggio with a little vibrato he does at the El Mocambo version of Tell Me that isn't on the studio version. It sounds like a choo choo train bell Lol. In addition to that Texas Flood lick in one of your other videos its my fav lick in the El Mocambo show. He does it while Tommy Shannon is walking bass and together it sounds amazing ❤❤❤ I'd really like you to post that arpeggio in Tell Me Live At El Mocambo version if you can. SRV was a great rhythm guitarist as well. When I hear it makes me want to do a happy dance. It sounds great with Tommy Shannon
Woke up this morning, trouble knocking on my door ‼️ I ❤SRV ‼️
Thank you for sharing this. I do appreciate it.
Excellent Lesson! Thanks a lot! 🔥🎸🔥
Thanks for this Anthony. Have an awesome weekend.
That solo at the end was great
This is great. Thanks, Anthony !
Another great lesson. I love how you jam at the end, just a little extra is always nice...
That's a gorgeous finish on that Strat. It looks mint!
Thanks. It's a 90's Foto Flame strat. Hard to believe the flame effect is just a decal under the paint. Incredible work for that era.
Hope you are feeling better!!!

Wow nice ! I dig it!
Gorgeous Strat dude, very tastefully done

I think I know which part you’re talking about. Can you point me to a time in the song so I can verify?
Thanks a lot Anthony, hopefully you will add some tablature, for us members, especially for people like me who are basically rubbish.
Working on it today!
Tabs should be showing up in the Pro Player now.
Loved the breakdown of this SRV lick! I just did a Tell Me cover inspired by SRV-would love your thoughts if you get a chance to check it out.
Been playing Eb with my classical ensemble lately, it's interesting but you may need string changes
I see you are a gravity pick fan as well. Are you using the rounded edge instead of the traditional pointy end?
Yes
@Texas Blues Alley When u use a $9 dollar pick, you find ways to make 'em last! 😄 I discovered a fresh sound doing that too.
We all know this is a Howlin Wolf lick tho, right?
What pickups are you using? Thanks
That's a set of Zexcoil Modern 5s.
