Some players stick to the classics. Simple, leather football boots and nothing more. Obviously Adidas offer the Copa Mundial, but for many, they're maybe just a little too old school. Where as the modern Copa Pure line up, might just go a little too far. Enter Copa Gloro.
In today's video we take a closer look at the new 2023 version of the Adidas Copa Gloro. Classic leather upper, conical studs, an optional fold over flap tongue and a super affordable $100 retail price. You might have also noticed something else, the design of the upper is remarkably similar to the custom 11Pros that Toni Kroos has famously worn for the last 10 years! We break down everything you need to know about them, and how they compare to their main competition in the $110 Nike Premier 3. Are these the best value for money football boots from Adidas?

I'm 20 years old, but I still feel that old school leather boots with this kind of design are very underappreciated these days. Especially for defenders, these feel like a great option for protection and stability. Not to mention the conical studs, which imo are way better than the aggressive blades we have on all mainstream speed boots.
Yeah i need grippy studs but i also need my studs to easily pivot on any grass surface i play. Especially after my ACL surgery. 😅

Us 90s kid Cringe at 100 being a budget pair of boots! I remember super high end boot the pros used costing around 100... I got pro level Predators from 100.
@@rhyswilliams4893 You didn't get Predators for 100 USD in the 90s unless they were steeply discounted. Their MSRP was much higher than that.
The most expensive boots of the early to mid 90s were around 175 USD. Usually Spanish-made Kelmes, which used "ultra conditioned calfskin" which was apparently more expensive in overhead cost than standard K-leather. I think they had waterproofing or something. Less expensive K-leather boots of the era generally didn't have any waterproofing.
Copa Mundials were around 100-120 USD. Diadora Brasils and Umbro Specialis were around 130-140 USD. The very first Nike Premiers were around 110 USD (interestingly, Nike has kept the modern silo at that ancient pricepoint, indicating that modern Premiers are made much more cheaply). Then Predators and the very first Mercurials crashed the scene near the end of the millennium, and they were the first widely used boots to be hitting the 200 USD pricepoint.
Sure do love those 442s. They just look classy and comfortable.
Makes ne cry every time I see Josh mention them and bust out his gold pair because I bought a pair when they first launched just to try them out and thatvwas before I saw his review and how the gold pair were all k leather...I got the black pair instead so the soleplate wouldn't look as bad when I went to return them. I didn't expect them to be that great!
Josh as a football boot enthusiast you should know that the tongue strap needs to be strapped perpendicular to the stripes on the midfoot unless you are David Deckhaming it and strap it to only the first two studs.

serious question has any of the new balance 442's had a full leather upper other than that gold colorway, sometimes it's hard to tell in pictures but all the rest seem to have a synthetic leather midfoot. And if not do you know if there are any slated for release whether that be limited or general release.

Would you suggest this over a Kaiser or a Nike tiempo academy for a football coach working on AG pitch? I used to have a Kaiser but it went enormous after a year of use

*Would be better with cloth instead of leather on the inside because your foot won't slide around as much. Leather gets slippery. That's why I like the Nike premiers better*

Id go for Gloro.. I tried both at the store and the Gloro has a way better quality leather upper, anything under .2 for the pure/copa feels really cheap and plasticy imo

If you really like the Copa Mundial, I wouldn't switch into anything else. These are solid boots, but they're not Copa Mundials.
for $10 or $30 more give me k leather anyday over these . That said I still prefer hypervenom phantom 1s to everything i have 2 pairs and a bottle of shoe glue to keep them alive

Hard to believe Adidas would sell an unfinished boot....with the ridiculous gaps in the upper....the rest of it looks great.
Just a general question: When people say football boots have Cow leather or Kangaroo leather, are the materials derived from animals or some artificial source and named after animals?
they are made from animal leather, it is literally the cow skin, same goes for kangaroo, why kangaroo? you may ask, because its softer, lighter and more durable than cow leather, it has 10x more tensile strenght, so kangaroo boots will last you a long long time if taken care off.

There’s some cleats called the charly legendario 2.0 that look even more like the 11pros with the stitching at the toe. that being said, you won’t get the 3 iconic stripes lol

Bro I thought Schweinsteiger and kroos both wore the adipure 11… I know he started wearing them after Schweinsteiger, so shouldn’t they be his boot…
These will last you up to 6 seasons or more! Those synthetic uppers and thin leathers fall apart in 1.

You must be really new to football. Adidas logo without the writing on predator boots were all the rage during the mid 90s-mid 2000s.
@@haridj8532 no I am not, the strips in the 90’s were different than the logo, they were longer and curvy, but the strips now are the same as the logo.

Just got them and struggling to get used to the lower cut and feel it digging into my ankles a bit…is this something that breaks in over time or is this boot just not for me? obviously a risk playing in them in the hope they’ll break in knowing I can’t send them back if they don’t 🥲
